Oh wow I can't believe that was the first time acting for the lady playing Abigail. And double wow that that was really her singing. She was fantastic. And Matt Smith is really growing on me, I thought i'd have a hard time adjusting to him after DT, but I'm not at all. I think they have really good writting & the Dr & Amy bounce off each other really well. I just lurve it :)

I knew she was a singer as a I have some of her opera stuff..... She is amazing

I saw the scarves but was it officially a homeage to Tom Baker or just a rumour someone started?
Most people wear scarves at Christmas over there because of the cold.

It was a definite nod to Tom Baker.... The 2nd scarf even looked the same.

Oh and buy a Katharine Jenkins CD she's amazing

A Crock in Time

That was the worst Christmas Special I ever had to endure. The story was weak and the new producer really needs to think outside of the four formulas he uses for each show: crashing spaceships, women who get an occasional visit throughout time, the abandoned child, things with big teeth!

I give this years special the thumbs down and say bar humbug!

Yeah but Steve you never say anything positive about it. I don't know why you even bother to watch the show:rolleyes:

Blown to Smithereens

Not true.

The 2005 series of Doctor Who was great viewing but they forgot one thing... the audience today is more sophisticated than it was back in the 60's and 70's. Wibbly wobbly stuff doesn't hold much credibility with today's audience.

Last nights Christmas Special was all about Christmas lights and the story was just plain drab. This last series of Doctor Who was straight out of Alice in Wonderland with the Doctor being no more than a mad hatter. Matt Smith needs to broaden the character, he has become a cliche of himself. Tennant had some depth, Smith is only good for a few party tricks.

Doctor Who 2010 could be better.

Michael Gambon was fantastic.
I enjoyed the show, but it was underwhelming - drag out the christmas carol, blurgh, the chrissie specials are crazy and wild and fun****************...this one looked cheap and was.....less fun.

I'm trying to like the new regime, but I miss DT, and I miss RTD and his wild ways. Nice enough but tired idea, seemed like an ordinary episode.

My main bug about Matt.......I can't understand what he says when he rambles quickly about, info overload stuff, he doesn't deliver with much conviction and lacks depth, maybe that will develop. And he's just not sexy. Right now I'm just not believing......can't feel my Doc passion.
Nice enough little show, just not compelling me anymore.

Me too, I thought it was good fun. It worked really well to have the doc play the ghost of Christmas past—nice concept.

Now all I want for 2011 is River Song and the Master. Happy New Year.

David T news
The former Doctor Who star has been frank about the difficulties of making it big in Hollywood. (His NBC dramedy Rex Is Not Your Lawyer was axed before ever airing an episode.) But Tennant's dance card has remained remarkably full since he departed the TARDIS. This past year, he had a starring role as a widower in the BBC miniseries Single Father. In 2011, he'll serve up some goth glam as a "Criss Angel-type Las Vegas magician" in the remake of the 1985 horror film Fright Night opposite Colin Farrell. He'll also appear in the romantic comedy The Decoy Bride with Boardwalk Empire's Kelly Macdonald and star in United, BBC2's telefilm about the 1958 Munich plane crash that killed eight Manchester United soccer players. Doctor Who fans adore Tennant; now the rest of the world can share in the giddiness.

Aww that is nice news. I've had time to get over the age gap & that just because she played his daughter on the show, doesn't mean she is his real life daughter :o Gunna be a cute baby & I hope they have a Dr who themed name somewhere in there :D

Awwwwwwwwww.
That is so neat, my 2 favourite doctors (& the sexiest) become bound together through marriage.
I miss that crazy grin.

Will we ever get a return of the Doctor's daughter?

And speaking of weddings, did you ever see the Vic of Dibley episode where she got married with a Doc Who theme devised by crazy alice, included daleks.

Now we have our first Doctor Who Dynasty! They couldn't have planned it better.

The DW Dibley wedding was funny - dalek and DT bridesmaids. There will have to be DW references in David and Georgia's wedding - unavoidable. It will be so cute.

Maybe a special "enhanced" sonic screwdriver prop from the BBC pranksters as a wedding gift with added vibration :D :D :p :p
