14 DAYS....WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Only 2 weeks until new magic. So exciting.

Who would you love to see do a guest spot on Doctor Who?
Top of my list is - MAGGIE SMITH, and i would love to see her come in and beat up MISSY

And Vanessa Redgrave and Charlotte Rampling - so sublime in Broadchurch 2.
Males - Steve Buscemi and Quentin Tarrantino, and Keannu Reeves - doing Matrix stuff; plus Gandalf and Viggo.

I can't believe anyone dislikes MIDNIGHT, astonishing, one of my all time favourites, tense, frightening and absolutely sublimke acting.

Even the crappiest DW is better than most other TV - there is always something there I can focus on instead of the story if I don't like the story.

A problem, why has nobody invented a weapon to take out cybermen & daleks - they keep invading, and nobody can produce something, an inferno melting gun, a teeny nuke, blow torch, supersonic net to chuck over them, whatever....

@Mr Stickyfingers can you fix this, pretty please???Countdown everyone, post something DW cool everyday....

@BigBrotherCritic , David does have fab hair, whatever he does - but I prefer his spikey style, have you watched the Politician's Husband? On ABC recently?
He looked like that, but greyer and he wasn't very nice.
The Idiot's Lantern was the one that begins on a scooter with Billie in a cute dress, yeah?
I liked the coronation stuff.

And I too envisaged Dame Maggie being able to laser Missy with withering looks...she could be Prof Wizard-like & zap her.

Hey @reepbot did you hear your Tina is singing on DWTS tonight, get on to it.

Hugh would be cool.
Would love a story that kind of visits Hogwarts.
Sheesh it just started pouring with rain, like a deluge - that flooding sound hammering away.

...you're talking about this girl aren't you Meglos?... she was truly terrible and it was a really weak episode... she was bad enough but when The Doctor ended up lighting the Olympic flame at the end that was just pure rubbish... such bad writing... as with you Meglos I hate rubbishing anything to do with Doctor Who but that did need to be said I'm afraid...

...I agree with most of those lists but 'Love and Monsters/Midnight/The Idiot's Lantern' I am a great fan of... they are so off-beat with their storylines that they really appeal to me... but yeah... the rest I so agree with as being really weak episodes... cheers.

I'm going through the old episodes at the moment, I must have missed this one the first few times, but watched it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It was woeful!!! I just kept thinking thank fuck I know it gets better than this! :P

I watched demons run/where a good man goes to war (or something like that) last night - But to re-watch the ep where the Dr realises Melody Pond is in fact River Song, and what that all means, and how happy he was, was beautiful. I love the Dr & River together, cos, he couldn't exactly marry a "normal human" and have a happily ever after.

Loving the countdown updates @Mr Stickyfingers.

And, enjoy the episode tonight - the last of the repeats at 7.30pm, no 2nd repeat, and no more after this.

We are left with 11 Doctorless days, ergh!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will just have to visit my dvds or the abc site I guess, I just love my 7.30 serving of DW every night.

Daily Telegraph.....article

Peter Capaldi, who plays the Doctor, teased: "The opening episode of the new series is fabulous - the story is going to take us across the universe into all types of dark, terrifying and funny places. It's a particularly epic one to start.

...
Clara and Missy actually end up getting on, but remembering they don't like each other again.

Gomez said: "The dynamic between Missy and Clara takes on a whole new shape and not one I had imagined. There is something not quite right about it that makes for slightly unnerving viewing. Dare I say there might be a hint of respect there? Perhaps not quite respect. More a healthy dose of circumspect."

As for the rest of the series, Capaldi revealed: "It's hopefully full of spectacle and adventure - it's not a sitting back, domesticated, reflective series, it's the Doctor and Clara roaring through time and space in search of thrills."

Lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat promised: "It's a big, mad and exciting series. You'll be grinning a lot more, there's more comedy mixed in with some of the darkest stuff we've done."

...on the 'bit part players that steal the scene/movie/TV show' thread that I started Isee posted this clip of Matt Smith and Tom Baker as the 'Curator' in 'The Day of The Doctor'...

...I can't remember whether I have told anybody my theory on this thread before before but in the scene just after Matt says..."I never forget a face!"... did you notice what the Curator said to The Doctor at the 2:07 mark?... he says... "I know you don't... and in the years to come you might find yourself revisiting a few of just the old favourites eh?"... could Steve Moffatt have been hinting that The Doctor will see even more of the old Doctors from the early series?... I picked that up after watching that show for about the 10th time from memory lol!... has anybody picked up on that before?... and do you think that I may be onto something or not?... I'm curious...cheers.
