Thanks nutmeg. That was a really easy review to write for some reason, they aren't always.
Your point about the tiny vocal chords and eardrums is very interesting. I don't know how accurate scientifically the story was (I'd guess not very), but someone (in "About Time" which is a series of books analysing each episode) did suggest that they got the pitch of the voices the wrong way round.
I'm a different kind of fan to those reviewers and I can tell that you are too - we know that everything doesn't make perfect sense (like the scale of the giant props) but it doesn't spoil our enjoyment of the story.
I do think that the tightly edited combined final episodes is probably for the better. The reconstruction on the DVD makes it a little drawn out. You didn't miss the death of the cat though, it was completely edited out of the final version, so it may or may not be canon.
