...here are two images of the Cybermen of before and after Steve Moffatt's redesign of them... am I the only one that prefers the older version?... to me the Cybermen in the first image still look like 'robots'... but since Moffatt changed them all I can now see are guys in old suits of knights armour... they no longer look 'robotic'...

...put them on a horse... give them a lance and let them joust... gee Moffatt is giving me the irrits... he's changed the Daleks into a bunch of gay garbage bins... people will no longer be 'scared' of Daleks... when they see them coming towards them in the future they'll burst out laughing methinks...
...he's changed the inside of the Tardis into a sterile and bland new interior as far as I'm concerned... I've said it before within these forums somewhere before that it seems that he is slowly trying to rid Dr Who of anything that used to be associated with Russell T Davis to me...
...I know that a show has to change and remain fresh to survive but with the Cybermen and the Daleks I think that he he slowly ruining the show in my honest opinion... Russell T Davis was definitely the better writer of the two methinks...
...** Sticky gets off of his soapbox**... so... anybody... which Cybermen do you prefer?... cheers.
Just going by those pics I prefer the newer one, because the body of the actor is more completely covered up. But I think you need to reserve judgement until we see how it looks on TV. Don't judge them by a brightly-lit photo.
Meanwhile... today's episode was great! Had some actual time travelling in it. And I think the first direct reference we've had to the Eye of Harmony in the modern series?
The preview for Journey to the Centre of the Tardis looks awesome too![]()
It's funny you post that image of yours again, take a look at the BBC's official poster for next week's episode (they make a movie-style poster for every episode). See any resemblance?

And yes I'm really excited for the episode too, we'll finally be able to see more of the Tardis!
As for watching the eps - yes I get it online so I can see it early, but it's against the forum policy to discuss that. I reckon just enjoy it on the ABC tonight![]()

Just with the black bits in between all the metal, you can see that's the body of the actor (obviously to allow freedom of moment). The new costume has them completely covered in metal, including all the joints.
What else needed to be at the end? We'd already concluded the story and had all the goodbyes etc in the previous scene. Rescuing the monster was like a little epilogue to the episode. It cut off there because there was no need to see the whole escape sequence again, we'd just seen it a few minutes earlier.
The TARDIS talking interface thing has been used before. And the cable was just plugged into the back of it. Though I'm not sure how it still worked when Clara went flying away to the other universe...
Emma saying not to trust the doctor - obviously setting something up for a future story. Same as the Doctor asking her about Clara.

Tonight's episode continues the meh that is season 7....
What was with the very abrupt ending?
He tells the monster to get ready to jump then end credits? WTF?
Did they run out of time for an ending? On a time travel show of all thingshaha.
The TARDIS almost talking to Clara. WTF?
If there was one door where she was where did that cable come from? Is there a door on the other side where the cable comes out? WTF?
Who wrote this junk?
And why did Emma tell Clara not to trust the doctor?
DOCTOR Who bosses have boldly gone and copied Star Trek in a bid to bring back all the old Time Lords for the show’s 50th anniversary special.
Viewers will see Matt Smith, 30, mingle with all the actors from the previous BBC series, including the late William Hartnell and Jon Pertwee.
TV chiefs came up with the plan, thanks to fellow sci-fi smash Star Trek.
In 1996, the cast of spin-off series Deep Space Nine had an adventure with the original Enterprise crew Captain Kirk and Mr Spock (William Shatner, 82, and Leonard Nimoy, 82) as they looked in the 1960s.
The show used hi-tech wizardry to digitally insert the young stars from Deep Space Nine into old footage from an episode called The Trouble With Tribbles, which aired in 1967.
Now BBC bosses plan to do the same. In November’s TV special to mark 50 years of Doctor Who, fans will see the current Doctor come face to face with all of the former Doctors who include Tom Baker, 79, Colin Baker, 69, and Peter Davison, 62.
He will be “placed” into clips from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s to make it look as though he is really there and interacting with his old Time Lord selves.
Ex-Doctor Who star David Tennant, 42, is the only actor who will appear in the flesh in the episode.
And former show writer Robert Banks Stewart has let slip that as well as bringing back The Zygons, fans will see a carnival of monsters including Daleks and Cybermen.
To celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary, Doctor Who is heading into UK cinemas and making the move to 3D. A special episode will be aired in both theatres and on BBC HD on November 23, 50 years to the day since the first instalment was aired.
Speaking about the special, the show’s lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat said
It’s about time. Technology has finally caught up with Doctor Who and your television is now bigger on the inside. A whole new dimension of adventure for the Doctor to explore.
As for the content of the episode, it sounds like that’s yet to be decided. the BBC’s controller of drama commissioning Ben Stephenson told The Guardian.
There will be lots of aliens and daleks and things… or maybe there won’t. There are many differently things to take into account and we will also have a Christmas special after that and it all connects. Or maybe it doesn’t. There’s lots to work out.
There’s no word yet regarding on any other international screenings, but whatever happens, Doctor Who returns to televisions for a run of eight episodes on March 30.
So you didn't understand it, that doesn't make it junk.
I thought it was awesome.
