I just saw the mascot for the 2012 olympics in the UK. Looks like it would fit in well with Dr. Who......

I hope for the opening parade they have Dr. Who as a float. It's a british icon.

They better feature Doc Who at the games, and daleks, and cybermen, and the Tardis.
OOOoo they could have all the old Docs and companions swanning around - and light the flame with the screwdriver thingy.
I would expect a touch of 007 too.

Well both are british icons I do hope we get both............ Maybe doc 11 regenerates into 007 haha :D After all that's my rationale for Bond's many faces

Tonight - episode 6- The Vampires of Venice

The Doctor takes Amy and Rory away for a romantic break but terror awaits in 16th century Venice. What secrets are held by the House of Calvierri and who is the mysterious Rosanna?

OK have now watched the episode "Vampires of Venice"

Just finished the "Vampire episode" and while entertaining it didn't really grab me as such. Though I did like all the girls with their "teeth" accessories. It was good but on the whole not as good as it could have been. The ending felt rushed a bit.

I had a slight sorry feeling for the female alien at the end, as if surely the Doctor could have taken them all somewhere like a water planet to live.... Would that really have been so hard? Instead he lets a whole race die in the canals of Venice... Won't their bodies decay and be found by future humans contaminating the timeline?

And what was it with the sudden silence as they enter the TARDIS? That felt very ominous.

Rory is awesome, I didn't realise he would be a second companion like Mickey or Captain Jack.

Yeah I liked that Rory gets be there too. He seemed to be pretty switched on in the first ep. (taking pic's of the "coma" people) and it creates a nice dynamic & some funny moments :)

I am getting tired of the new doctor

his Stan Laurel impersonation might seem new to a young audience but its a bit old hat. I will give this guy two seasons before they either replace him or axe the show.

The new dalek is a rip off!

Doesn't come with an iPod dock or a phone charger. It still has the bathroom plunger but can not bend over to use it. I must be getting too old for this new series.

The girls in their "vampire" getup were hot.....

My favourite line came from Amy.

"I have my spaceship and my boys"

They had the perfect opportunity to ditch both the plunger and egg wisk with the new Daleks.
I would prefer to see a laser cannon and perhaps a multi function claw.

I do like the new black eye stalk however.
