Episode DAY 9: NOMINATIONS #1 (90mins)

can't be bothered with any more, this season feels like a waste. it's a shame because the cast is actually diverse and interesting for the first time in a long while (or maybe that's just because we haven't gotten to know most of them for more than a superficial moment)

Agree with all of your points, and yeah, I feel like I can't be bothered anymore either. I feel like it's a serious effort to keep watching, because again, much like last year, I don't feel engaged. It's a lot better than last year in terms of casting, and to some extent production-wise, but it still feels quite disjointed. I feel like I'm crazy in thinking it though, because I can't quite figure it out, but the whole thing doesn't "feel right." It's probably the lack of content, and the lack of things being live, and the graphics being all over the place too. I don't know. It's really upsetting me though.

It's funny because last year I had a problem with the shows production but I hated the cast more so it hide a lot of the problems I had with the show, This year I love the cast but the show is doing my head in. For me I just get the feeling we're always being manipulated and lied too. A feeling I never got from 10.

The reason could be we had live streaming and were able to make up our own minds on what people were really like and not who the producers think would make the best winner of BB.

Just finished here. After watching that, all I'm left with is a feeling of how contrived the show is, and how little we're being shown of the housemates. Why hasn't the footage of Sharon talking about the halfway housemates been shown before now? Why haven't we been given any clue at all that there's a rift between Sharon and Tahan? Or how the housemates feel towards Jasmin? And the nomination twist at the end of the show was completely unnecessary and just came across as the producers changing things because they didn't like the results.

Hmmmm. Were we shown more of the housemates last year? This year, I don't think we've seen any real interaction between any of them. Tonights noms just highlight how heavily edited the show is. People who I would have thought were going to be nommed weren't and those I thought would be safe aren't.

And I repeat, who is this Sharon chick? Have we seen her at all in the past week or have I just been in a drunken stupor?

What is this "Nominations are not final" bullshit, as well as "No ties allowed"?

Also, what is the point in having the segments with Sonia live and then cutting to pre-recorded segments with the actual nominating? - if I had paid to be in the audience, I would've been pissed.

Alex M, get fucked.

Yeah that and also the fact that daily shows were shown in a chronological order, so we knew what was happening throughout the whole day while on Niine its all jumbled up and we dont know what happened when. If you watch an episode from season 1 and compare it to what Nine is giving us, the difference is enormous. Secretly I am hoping that Nine drops Big Brother after this season and Ten picks it up.

note: i've only started watching the noms show now and havnt read all 33 pages hahaha

anyone else think its absolute bullshit that the HWH was closed just because tully had a sook?

Openly I wish that too :)

I love how when the show talks about HM's they use edited clips that we've never seen before. When they mentioned Sharon tonight they showed a clip of her taking a dig at Tully for crying in the Halfway House. We've never seen that clip before in any daily show and it would of been interesting seeing the rest of the conversation, instead of 10-20 second clips of HM's interacting.

Yes, for once I would like to hear an entire conversation.

I think the nominations show has made it obvious just how much we're not being shown and how much the show is now being edited. In other years, you can more or less guess who would be up. It's much harder to do that now, and that's a serious, serious issue.

I actually tweeted Alex M. about the lack of footage from the last four days in the house. He didn't reply though.

It's something 10 did really well, could you imagine how 9 would edit some of the great fights in BB history, Ben & Crissie (S3), Paul & Merlin (S4). I don't think we'd see it. Not family friendly enough

I agree - can't stand him!

Sharon came across as haughty and cold and uncompassionate tonight, quite a different character from the kindly, maternal, helpful personal trainer shown during the weekday snippets. And 'not being bothered' with getting to know your housemates when you've beaten out thousands of applicants to get a chance to be in the house with them is extremely ungracious.

Oh yes, it was so, so good. We had 20 minutes of continued interacting, that was BB for me.

2008 was bad, not because of the format, but because they didn't have the sponsors and had to do a cheap BB. I complained a lot in 2008 but OMG I wish I could have even 2008 BB back.

Channel 9 doesn't get it.

I knew Shazza would be up 2nite, even though we haven't seen much of her, numerous h/mates have not warmed to her and as I mentioned lots of housemates don't have to vote for someone to be in the firing range - only a handful nominated Jas but because they gave her high points she managed to get in the firing line! More voted for Tim but they only gave him 1 point!

If I remember from two years back, as I missed last season, there used to be a 24hr live feed to the house so you could watch all day and night so if that isn't happening now then we are going to be fed what they want us to see.

It also appears that BB can rig or decide to remove nominated HMs being that noms are not final and put in or out whoever they want. I wondered if there will be some sore of task where they will compete with each other to determine the loser between the half house and safe house so that they can change the nom HMs.
Or will it be some random thing which could cause some conspiracy theory of rigging results

I am thinking that maybe Rohan & the sisters may have to pick who is up, after one of the nominated HM's are saved. Or the saved HM has to choose one of them.
