Episode DAY 9: NOMINATIONS #1 (90mins)

naww thank you, way past my bed time, but thanks

Wow! Tully definitely reminded me of Estelle when she was galloping outside

Can't believe nominations weren't actually live!!!

I feel sorry for Mykkala for getting so many points! Poor thing was sobbing! and then they made her choose!! aww!

I'm so confused about how the nominees aren't final??? Someone is saved and another person goes in? How do they get saved if the public can't even start voting yet?? What's going on?

I just wish nominations were green. I wish the colouring system for different shows was still a thing.

This.

Daily shows = blue, Evictions = red, Nominations = green. This whole rainbow coloured everything is depressing. The colour coding was a great way to instantly know what show you're watching. And uniquely Australian (in a good way).

Hopefully Tully can take baby Drew's spot!

I just watched the recap and not many people actually voted for her - it's just cause the people who did gave her lots of points! So you can really NEVER be certain as to who will be up week from week!

Two things from tonight's show:

- Jade nominated Tahan because of her getting into the spa on the first night and getting into trouble. Jade wasn't even in the house on the first night?? Sounds fishy
- Sounds like the producers are shitting themselves about Tim possibly being evicted early and decided they can change the nomination votes. Or they will try to excuse Jade because it is halting the Jade and Ed storyline.

I'm the first one to roll my eyes at people who cry (Tully) but I can understand M crying, like kxk said, she's in there for ANOTHER week AND gets the most votes out of -anyone, I'd be upset too!

yes agree. there's crying and then there's crying. I think to get the most votes and half-way house again would be enough to make you weep. But from we've seen, I'd say Mik will cope fine was she settles in.

1. Maybe because Tahan told Jade why she was stuck in her bikini outfit and had no clothes? DUH! LOL!
2. Highly doubt it. Why would they be shitting themselves? In all honesty, he's not that much of a shit stirrer compared to others I have seen over the years!

I wonder how they are going to decide who gets saved and who goes into the halfway house?

Maybe Rohan and the blondes choose?

Love all the Mikkayla sympathisers hating on Tully when the show's contrived editing is exposed through the fact that almost everyone nominated Mikkayla and Tully's only votes were throwaway from Sharon. Yes Tully cries, shes a girl - don't see why Mikkayla is exempt from criticism when she does it?

it's not a tully v mikkayla thing at all. i think you'll find tully was well liked at the start but many viewers have turned off her. her reaction to the latecomers was not about mik.

Tully is playing the game beautifully. Very interesting. Seems to have made friends with everyone except Mikk. It will be interesting to see if this will help her when BB changes the rules with the nominations.
Of course Ben is also playing the game very well too. Using the tactic of mentioning Tim saying not to bother nominating him. Well played. Let the real games begin!!!! :D

random thoughts

- once again, not enough info in the daily show recap. i can't recall ever being this far into a season and feeling like i really don't have a handle on most housemates

- as proof, look at the number of nominations of mikayla. we've gotten the sense of her "school-teacher-ness", but the fact that so many people could nominate her for so many (sounding) different occasions, suggests a gross mis-editing.

- speaking of mis-editing, how about the intentional burying of tim's clear cheating. "don't nominate me" - how is that not rule breaking? how has he not been warned or punished or kicked out? of course we know why alex hides these things - tim's the controversial pet this season

- as long as i'm onto conspiracies, watch tim be saved on thursday.

- and speaking of the nomination "twist", are you getting the feeling alex is completely missing the point? he thinks he's fucking with us, when the reason we're all tuning in is to see how the HMs handle the house - including being fucked with by BB. Get it? they're the show, not us.

- and seriously, fuck this saving of one HM on thursday. if you nom 6, then put them up and let the voting commence.

- i can see the benefits of not being live, because it does move faster, but it's feeling more and more produced, and less "real"

- shame on my boy drew for shitty nominations. worst of the night

- biggest surprise has to be ben's articulate noms. honestly, i was expecting half-hearted excuses through choking and wailing sobs (ok, an exaggeration - but only a slight one)

- and dude, they totally could hear nominations, particularly mikayla hearing tim. so, so obvious. once again, the soundproof booth aint soundproof

can't be bothered with any more, this season feels like a waste. it's a shame because the cast is actually diverse and interesting for the first time in a long while (or maybe that's just because we haven't gotten to know most of them for more than a superficial moment)

Always love your random thoughts at the end of the night :-)

I just had a lightbulb moment about noms. Maybe they vote for the ones they think the public will like but don't use that as the reason. Surely they all think to get rid of the nicest housemates.
