Episode Day 8 Eviction Show - 16/11/2025

Bring back the showing of the current status of the voting (a graph or percentages or numbers or whatever) at the START of the eviction show and then have the host (in this case, Mel) comment on the numbers.

Mel: "Ooh, Sally and George are close and the lines are still open so you better get voting if you want to save George. Remember it is a vote to SAVE."

And then, mid-way through the show, display an update and do the same again.

Mel: "Ooh, the numbers have changed and it is getting even closer now, so get voting. And, remember, it is a vote to SAVE."

This builds tension and interest and also gives better transparency. And, it also reminds people, often, that it is a vote to SAVE.
Why would they even think much to do that in this current voting format though where voting is free and you're limited to one vote? I feel in previous series when they did that it was to encourage people to vote more and help bring in more revenue.

Now though you can just vote once, and it isnt money making. You cant be encouraged to vote more as they only allow one vote.

I love all the people on here ... but, there is a part of me that has to agree with this. I for one do want more of the OG BB and what they are giving us is definitely not it. It is indeed frustrating for them to build it up as OG, and then for them to give us essentially a re-hashed channel 7 style BB with a live stream. But, I can live with it. Having BB on my TV is better than not having BB on my TV.

I enjoy watching it and seeing the dynamics of the house change with each and every little event, drama, blow-up, challenge, or twist that gets thrown at them. And I enjoy it whether it is OG, or very much not OG. It's just BB to me, regardless of what the format it, and I love having it on my TV screen.
I’m seeing it more as a test for potential future seasons and what they would do different if they had more than six weeks

I found it strange they’re not utilising the fan pit, if it’s positioned between the house and stage why not have the housemate walk out the house doors and film them walking through that crowd? The stage has no actual runway so it felt strange to just open the doors and jump straight into the interview, give it a bit more fanfare then opening the doors to no music!
Agreed but looking at how the live shows are paced there isn’t time for that.

Firstly, of course people have every right to feel disappointed, frustrated, angry, etc about this rebooted season and I'm not trying to downplay the strong feelings some have about it. However, two things need to be said about your point.

Firstly, despite what some here want to believe, there's seemingly a spectrum of views about what we've seen so far and I think it's unfair that some of those who are disappointed have continually challenged or get outraged at those who don't agree with them rather than acknowledge that reasonable people can have different views about the same show.

Secondly, what I was getting to with my original post is there is a huge difference between measured, grounded criticism based on things that have or haven't occurred and bad faith criticism which is (among other things) exaggerated and OTT. For example, there are some who participate in the live threads who within a few minutes of a daily show beginning suggest (among other things) it'll bad just so they can repeatedly criticise everything they don't like and respond to those who share their views with "I told you so" type posts. To me, that is the definition of bad faith criticism because they're pushing a pre-determined agenda based on how they feel rather than legitimately responding to what they're seeing (or not seeing).

It was clearly articulated during the lead-up to BB's return that the "OG format" references were about bringing back the key pillars of that era rather than every single aspect of it:

Don't know how you've drawn that conclusion when one look at my post history would demonstrate I've been highly critical of key aspects of this series from how badly combining daily shows with live elements such as an eviction has turned out to the 'rest day'.
I apologise for singling you out specifically. I agree with what you’re saying to a certain degree. When it comes to referencing certain posts it is quite time consuming trying to keep up with posts, specifically when the show is on and I try to only donate certain amounts of time to being on here otherwise I wouldn’t be off of it. Your posts specifically caught my eye more so because you keep calling some users feedback of the show OTT. I think it’s obvious the general reception of the show on here has been mediocre at most. That’s not good enough to keep the show on the air.

My issue lies with being complacent with how the show is going. Producers will think it’s being well received, which I know for some is true. And that’s ok, but I think some major revisions need to be made to give the show a shot at any longevity, especially with older fans.

I haven’t seen the users talking the episodes down prior to them airing. I suspect some have come to expect a mediocre daily show, and I don’t blame them. But I do my best to reserve judgement until the show is at least airing, though sometimes that’s difficult when they keep repeating the same issues we thought had been addressed previously.

I have seen multiple people talking about how bad a daily show is going to be before it has aired just to turn around and say by the end of the show that it couldn’t have been much better. Especially during and after Friday’s show. Not that I’m saying that people aren’t entitled to their opinions at all. Just that to be fair I see where that point was coming from

Hmm? Are you asking why people are mad about it or because it’s shit?

the middle one

I am asking why people are commenting on the music

i have no idea whether it is good bad shit or otherwise.... i just watch the show for the latest happenings...not for pre recorded sound/ music bytes

what am i missing in this respect, please ?

It’s an accumulation of things. Most notably is the music doesn’t serve any purpose to the show or storyline aside from trying to manipulate viewers feelings and emotions towards said scene, and that’s if we aren’t fighting the volume of it while trying to hear what Mel and/or the housemates are saying. It’s too similar to the piling heap 7 spat out. We want the raw reality of the previous days happenings played out and nothing else is required. It worked 20 years ago and definitely still works today.

We don’t want a soap opera edit of the previous days reality. I’m happy you’re able to tune it out but for many it’s a generic modern reality show addition that isn’t needed and is distracting. I don’t need to be manipulated to feel sad when Colon is in the diary room saying brev while crying.

You and Lightning have both come up with good points that I hadn't thought of. One vote and not money making ... yep, true.

Showing a graph might get those who hadn't already voted to possibly vote. But, fair point, being only one vote per person, it probably wouldn't make enough of a difference at the time (ie, eviction night) to change anything.

Yep, I agree.

We can only hope. :)

I understand the need to point out things the production could do better. I too hate the music, the "soft" BB letting the HMs call him nicknames, the long transitions after ad breaks, the over-long pauses, the way some important events may not be shown in the daily show, "production manipulation", etc, etc ... we should indeed mention and comment on those by all means. If production are lurking, then yes, let's hope they take things on board. It's all fine and good as long as it all doesn't create or come across as too much "negativity" in the forum that it turns people away from it or the show itself. I think there's a fine line. 👍

What I think would make a better Live Eviction Show.

1. Opening Titles
2. Mel Walks out to the BB theme and they use that for intro and outros to each segment.
3. Live Cross to the House early in the show. Do a quick interview with each nominated housemate on the couch.
4. A quick package of the nominate housemate of their time in the house so far.
5. 25 mins of Daily Show
6. Announce eviction and either go straight into interview on stage with some kind of seating
or if your going to go to a ad break. Then get evicted housemate to stay and say their goodbyes to the HMs during the break then come back from ad break do the BB countdown then get them to walk out of the house straight onto the stage.
7. Eviction Sirens after BB countdown.
8. A proper wrap up from Mel
9. Proper Closing Credits.

Make use of the live audience more, do some random audience interviews. Or get Mike Goldman to do that.
