Episode Day 52 (29/10/14) Daily show

[="don'tsee the ni, post: 2042536, member: 35381"]I think this might have been one of those occurrences where neither party were in the "wrong". If the boys thought they were just having a fun joke with Priya and didn't mean any malice then there's no problem...at the same time if Priya felt offended then there's certainly no problem with her defending herself either. Yes, she may have dragged it on (and David may have helped her drag it on by volunteering to speak to the other boys) but we really have no right to say whether someone should feel offended or not so if she genuinely did then I'm happy she took as much time as she needed to sort it out.

At the end of the day Priya and David were hugging the next night so they're obviously over it.[/QUOTE]
I still dont
Prisus was simply correcting something Travis said and then the boys were all chanting at her and ganging up on her. It was just a joke but it was immature and made Priya upset because 2 of the guys doing it were the newbies and they so they she didn't have a close enough relationship with them yet that she felt comfortable with them doing what they did. Prisus reacted perfectly - she didn't get angry or start crying or decide to ignore anyone; she confronted the boys in a mature and dignified manner. But...

Thats the problem she didnt need to confront anyone because there was nothing to be talked about. Just massive overreaction and it was embarrising. FACT. And it will show accordingly with the voting

I didn't quite understand the whole Priya thing. To me it just seemed that she wants to set the tone with the new housemates and not have anything tainted by other players.

I bet Ryans predictions on drama in the sanctuary will amount to little. He's just a negative dude, despite how pathetic his fake attempts to pretend he is zen and rationale. He just thinks the worst.

I want to see more of Penny.

Did Marina say in the video that Travis was flirting, that he targeted her but then say it wasn't flirting between them and then go back to saying Travis was flirting with her? Watching some exit video of her somewhere online I got the impression she was very much speaking to an agenda. This whole thing fitted with that.

What happened to leo and all his spiritual mumbo jumbo? I wonder if it is all his kind of wrap about being spiritual to chicks, because some of them fall for that nonsense but then there's nothing to it and so it just slipped away. It's all really just a front and persona to make a certain impression.

I just do not like Richard.

I'm ad-libbing here, (but I recorded it so late to the party)... The new guy, Tom? Or the other one, I was multi-tasking at the time... That did the "you talk about my boy, I'll get you (ad-libbed)?"... What macho crap.

Priya wasn't offended about "bantering" I don't think till then. But then it very much became victimisation, and boys expecting girls, to you know, not rock the boat, and don't dare be so lippy.

Anyway, that's just IMHO, as an older woman who is sick of this sort of thing. Maybe I'm OTT sensitive but meh...

Lol if you think that was a good edit for Priya you are way off the mark. The majority of people I believe will side with the boys there. Biggest overreaction. I can't believe some people are siding with that dribble she was spewing. It's clear people on here once they joined this so - called "Prisus Society" that they lose their brains and ability to recognize right and wrong from her. It was embarrassing for her tonight.

Big Brother is vote to save, not vote to evict. While there may be some people who will dislike Priya even more, there will also be those who had been previously indifferent to Priya, but who none-the-less will appreciate Priya's point of view, and some of those will vote for her.

I thought Priya handled the situation well. Despite her hurt feelings she didn't fly off the the handle. She calmly explained to whole group why she didn't like the joke.

Ironically it was David who was unnecessarily defensive when Priya brought up the matter with him, even trying to turn it around on Priya by raising his voice and getting all sanctimonious about Priya's momentarily pointing her finger.

As I've said many times David and Priya should work together.
They did well tonight and without any finger pointing.... um actually well, even that was handled well. Dave called Priya out on that as well as she called him out for his behaviour. Both airing their thoughts and feelings and able to settle things.

You know I was originally confused as to why Priya only chose David to have it out with...even though there were 3 other people involved and it seemed her issue was with the newbies rather than David or Travis. I thought she was choosing him to cop it once again unfairly but the more I think about it the more I think she knew that was the best way to handle it. Resolving it with David first would have probably been a better move than trying to have it out at the same time with two people she doesn't really know and Travis who tends to not listen and just yell over the top in arguments.

She felt belittled. Fair call. Newbies have no right to act all familar.
Agree on Ryan. Haven't heard anything postive out of that mouth. The chicken thing doesn't count.

Leo has lost his mumbo jumbo because his audience didn't buy it.
I don't like Richard either.

Obviously she felt like there WAS something to talk about. She didn't like the way they behaved, so she talked to them about how it made her feel. I'd hate to be associated with someone who thinks that if you're upset about what someone did, you should just shut up and never talk to them about it because telling them you're upset would be "EMBARRASSING".

So much one - eyed rubbish from priyas followers tonight. If ya's think priya was somehow right in that confrontation you people have your heads so far up your backside. Get off your high horses and get that it was a clear joke and she took it like a little girl. That was extremely embarrassing for her and most of the comments on the Facebook page support this. I can't believe some people on here were saying they were being s exist. Such overreaction and it's showing what PC is doing to people. Disgraceful.

You CLAIM that "the Facebook page support" Priya "took it like a little girl", and yet after a JUDGMENTAL PERUSE I see evidence MOUNTING on the CONTRARY.

A lot of people are PRAISING PRISUS and rightly so. You may think she was "extremely embarrassing" but the way she handled herself in order to nullify any tension in the future was a MASTER CLASS in MATURITY, POISE and PRIGNITY. The rest of the housemates could really do with taking a SEAT and getting their NOTEPADS out.

As for David, he looked like a complete arsehole.

The imagery of Her SUBMERGED in water, clearly unhappy at "THE BOYS" taking a "joke" WAY too FAR, and David STANDING and LAUGHING in her FACE as he cheered on the others exclaiming "DEFENCE!" was AWFUL and UNCOMFORTABLE.

His ABSOLUTE RELUCTANCE to claim ANY ownership over his actions and then BEGRUDGINGLY APOLOGISING to Priyanka was just the nail in THAT coffin.

And don't get me STARTED on his HORRENDOUS ATTEMPT to DEFLECT his WRONGDOING and cite AUSTRALIAN CULTURE as the reason Priyanka felt GANGED UP ON. Yes people who have known each other for YEARS may act like this, but FRIENDS know when the JOKE is OVER and WHEN TO STOP.

David and THE BOYS just kept PUSHING and PUSHING.

Don't BOTHER replying, I don't need a lesson on AUSTRALIAN CULTURE from you either.

What, so you expected David to say "Stop chanting fellas, I think Priya might be offended" at what stage of the 5 second chant?

That's not how social interactions work, though.
It doesn't have to be that straight forward.
Instead of encouraging the boys and continue chanting, he could have instead let it go and say "Ah, I'm just joking" and move on. If he'd have done that, it would have stopped right there.
It was clear she was in a position where nothing she said could get her out of that situation, and she clearly wasn't laughing with them, so he should have done something to make her know she wasn't being ganged up on.

But that's not even the biggest problem, because we're all stupid and we all get carried away sometimes.
The problem was him bringing up cultural differences, when it had nothing to do with anything that was going on.
It was his way of telling her it was actually all her fault.

The problem with David isn't that he does these huge, unforgivable things, it's that he keeps doing and saying these little things which, when you put them all together, really don't make him look like a nice guy.
When you're being told that you hurt someone and your instinct is to say "You just don't understand our culture" instead of "sorry, I didn't realise it was upsetting you, that was not my intention," you're being a dick.

Sorry, don't live in your world. In the high school environment that is BB you pick on one person to take the fall for the other morons?
Priya and David's discussion was relevant, and conducted like adults, but he's copping heat?

Has this episode been in perfect chronological order? We've been shown all of yesterday, day to night with some interesting story lines.

I think I like this episode because it's a true, average episode of Big Brother. Something we're not accustomed to this year.

They advertised a new era. Maybe that's it.
