Episode Day 33 (30th August 13) 30min Daily Show

HELLO ALEX & FELLOW PRODUCERS

Please change your programming to include a Sunday show. Just a half hour would be better than nothing... sum up the weekend so far. You can fit it in to your schedule!

Yes Alex, please do it. We love Big Brother!

yeah I think when the dividing fence was still there, and before Jade started on Ed, she was tickling Matt's side through the fence and holding up hands together to compare sizes but she must have gotten the hint around then he wasnt interested since he had a GF.

See, I'm not sure if I completely agree with Mercy's analysis. Although Tim knows that by toying with Tully she'll most likely get airtime, he also would've heard the boos for her. He knows he's popular on the outside as do the other HMs so anyone is going to suffer with the public vote (other than Ben probably) if they go up against him. If Tim really does want Tully to stay, that's a massive risk to take with someone up who is already disliked enough so early on (both in the house and outside it) to warrant that many nomination points + a crowd reaction like that. I can see why he didn't save her - because again, they all know she's disliked on the outside - but I don't think he'd deliberately provoke her this week if he wanted her to survive Monday.

I think he is banking on an Estelle vs Ben type situation to get him ahead. Neither Estelle or Ben would have got as far as they did without the other. Ben going against Estelle made people want to save her to spite him, the more Estelle survived, the more people threw their support behind anybody but her to win. Estelle was regularly booed by the eviction crowds when she survived, but she still survived.

Tully survived that double eviction. That's enough for Tim to know that she has support out there, enough support to place her above two others in a pool of 6. Make Tully the enemy and the centre of attention, and maybe she'll get enough support to keep her in in spite of all the people who hate her. Keep Tully in and make her your nemesis and suddenly all that hatred for her becomes your support. Vote for neutrals who cannot be manipulated like the others and who therefore pose a threat to your source of power alongside your emotionally manipulable Tully and watch them get evicted - it worked with Xavier (you got that, Tully?), now maybe it can work this week with Caleb.

Tully is only useful to Tim when she gives him that moody reaction. It's what he uses to get the public on his side. What he's hoping for is that the public will think of him as the hero who gives the disliked Tully her comeuppance, but that she'll still earn enough support from all the attention to keep her in the house where she is available and ready to exploit.

Jade has brought some of it upon herself, yep.

However, Ed said last week that If it were the outside he would 'take her home' or whatever the boys asked him. So he may have started something with her on the outside but clearly won't do that in the BB environment. He obviously has a reason, I would like to hear this reason and also hear him say it to her.

As in - He would shag her if he met her on a night out. Not that he would have a relationship with her. He's made that crystal clear. Not his type, not interested in her. But acknowledges that she's attractive, just not for him.

Who swore at whom? Was it Tully or Drew?
they fuckin edited out her swearing? WTF
Tully you are a hypocrite
shown exactly as they did in live feeds. impressed
Tully was being bleeped in the live feeds before Drew swore at her.
Is it really a surprise they prefer Tully staying over some of the more quiet ones? Yeah, she's annoying as hell but she gets people talking.
Tully swore back at drew on the live feed then which was just edited out?
If they wanted the swearing out, they should've removed Drew's also. Now it looks like he swore at her first when in actuality she was swearing at him and then he did so she pulled her "why are you talking to me like that?"
So, the producers are pro-Tully? I couldn't quite tell, but I think that's what I got from that...
Okay, so I took the time to transcribe the full scene from the official website's original video to make a point about how the Daily Show slightly manipulated it to make Drew come out looking slightly worse than he should have.

The thing that bothered me about this scene in tonight's episode is that the bits they edited out of the Daily Show conveniently went in Tully's favour, particularity by removing her swearing before Drew did and by cutting out Tully calling Drew a jerk. Both HM's should have been shown equally during that argument, bleeped or not.

Only a small percentage of viewers would have seen the original footage online so they wouldn't have seen Tully's initial reaction to the argument. It's little pieces of editing like this that effectively changes the way viewers can perceive a scene when shown out of context.

Below is the full transcript from the original video with what was shown on the Daily Show. Note that the lines in red are the quotes that were removed from the Daily Show version. By reading it in its full context and by seeing which sentences were deleted from the aired version, you can clearly see how it could appear that little bit differently.

Here's the full version (with the lines missing from the Daily Show written in red):

Tully: You were bitching about me all day.
Drew: All day? ... Care to explain?
Tully: No. Do you want to explain?
Drew: I'll tell you what I heard.
Tully: What you heard? Mate, you were in the conversation.
Drew: No. Were you there?
Tully: No, I wasn't there. Obviously. Have I seen you all day, have you said two words to me all day? No.
Drew: Are you kidding me? ... Why does it...what do you mean have I seen you all day?
Tully: Have - you - said - two words to me - all day?
Drew: We sat together during the game show thing.
Tully: Oh yeah and we definitely had a great chat then.
Drew: And we sat down--

Tully: I don't give a shit, Drew. Okay...like...I don't give a shit. I don't like being spoken about behind my back, especially when it's you.
Drew: You know what? I said about two words to her.
Tahan: It's just me, guys.
Drew: It's all right.
Tahan: Okay.
Drew: You wanna hear what I heard?
Tully: No, I don't really, 'cause you've just--
Drew: No, it's fine, I mean, like--
Tully: You've just like...I don't know why I expected any different.
Drew: Oh all right, well I'm just gonna start speaking--
Tully: And of-course Tim has to be the one to let me know.
Tahan: Do you want me to like...go?
Tully: Maybe, Tahan.
Tahan: Sorry.
Drew: Doesn't matter.
Tahan: Okay.
Drew: Um...all right, well I'll tell you what I got told and then--
Tully: No. I...I just.

Drew: I don't...all right, well what do you...what do you think I said about you?
Tully: I have no idea. I just got the idea that you--
Drew: So how can you be angry at me?
Tully: The idea that you were talking about me to somebody else--
Drew: If a conversation comes to me do I just like stop talking?
Tully: Obviously not. Just like how you don't...shit...you say one thing to me and to Tim and to everybody else, and then you go and do another, do you realize--
Drew: What the fuck are you talking about?
Tully: Why are you talking to me like that?
Drew: Because you're talking to me like that and you're not even listening! You don't wanna hear what I have to say! And you don't even know what happened--
Tully: Don't fucking talk to me like that! Are you serious?
Drew: You're talking to me like that! I'm talking to you exactly--
Tully: Don't swear at me! Have I sworn at you?
Drew: Alright, this is what happened. Jade came up to me and said, alright--
Tully: Do you wanna keep your voice down because we live in a house with like seventeen people?
Drew: Oh... you afraid the cameras are gonna hear?
Tully: No! I'm afraid other people are gonna walk in and hear a conversation that's not meant for them.
Drew: So you wanna talk...behind...people's backs?
Tully: Oh but that's what you've been doing, so.
Drew: Well, apparently it's not allowed. All right, Jade came up to me--
Tully: Oh my god, you're a fucking jerk sometimes!

Drew: --Jade came up to me and said everyone's talking about ME, so people were talking behind MY back and saying that "every time Tully has a problem, you run after her and look after her and it's not doing you any favours". And I had no idea... and I was more shocked that people were talking behind my back and getting involved with things that doesn't even concern them.
Tully: How often do I have problems?
Drew: I don't know, I'm not the one saying you do. As far as I'm concerned, I was just looking after you whenever you were upset.
Tully: Well, that's generally what friends do.
Drew: So, what's the problem? ... So that conversation came to me and what about am I supposed to do, just shut off?
Tully: What did you say? What did you say?!
Drew: Well, I said I had no idea people were talking about me or felt that way at all. And I--
Tully: Did you ask who it was?
Drew: --and you know what I said? I said--
Tully: Did you ask who it was?
Drew: I don't know why I'm the only one that looks after her when she's upset because when you're upset after Showdown, Matt said to me in the bathroom "this is your mess, bro, you're gonna have to clean this one up". ... So... don't fucking put it all on me.
Tully: Can you come back here Drew? Ugh! ... Drew!
Drew: Go away.
Tully: Don't tell me to go away.
Drew: I don't wanna talk to you. ... Don't get me in public.

And that's that.

You have an excellent way of explaining your viewpoint and I really like your take on it. And I do see the strategy of at least if she's involved in drama with Tim it's something as opposed to a few of the others who are easily overlooked - and therefore won't generate votes - because they're just kind of there. Neither loved nor hated so they're easily forgettable when it comes time to vote to save.

I do still think it's an extremely risky approach if his goal is to save Tully because obviously he's not aware of why she's so disliked on the outside. They would've cottoned on to one or maybe even two aspects but because they're not privy to everything we see, they don't realise that people are reeling off multiple reasons for wanting her out. I had initially assumed when Tim was talking to the sisters about who he wanted to leave that he was referring to Tully because he wanted his buddy Drew back as an ally, thus further cementing Jade in the process... but I'm definitely starting to see how I might've had it completely wrong and his target is Caleb or maybe even Ed (although I don't think he's ready for him to go yet).

Such a fascinating character regardless of what he's really thinking. Honestly if he wasn't in there this year I would've probably ditched BB for the first time since I moved here because I wasn't feeling any of the contestants at all and assumed Ben would just take it out. So happy I stuck with it! Thanks again for the further explanation. :)

With or without the stuff in red its obvious Tully is being unreasonable. Pray the voters can see it and are sick of it too

That's awesome Theorist - thank you!! This is what I said when they showed the preview before the ad break:

Ok BB... show the whole fight between Drully - including Tully swearing at Drew and then arcing up at him when he did it back. No flattering edits please!

Unusually naive on my part.

ALEX stop with the bloody dodgy editing because we're on to your ass!!

I think he is banking on an Estelle vs Ben type situation to get him ahead. Neither Estelle or Ben would have got as far as they did without the other. Ben going against Estelle made people want to save her to spite him, the more Estelle survived, the more people threw their support behind anybody but her to win. I can follow your logic. Not sure I agree (or want it to be true) but I can follow it.

I debate the idea of Tim thinking Tully was popular because she stayed in the double eviction tho. When you consider how early it was in the game and who she was up against its not overly surprising. It wasn't an indication of the people saved being popular so much as the people not saved having such low appear (if you get my diff?).

Time will tell hey :o

Thanks - no worries guys. It took me a fair while but it needed to be done! :p

With or without the stuff in red its obvious Tully is being unreasonable. Pray the voters can see it and are sick of it too

I don't want Tully to go but I do agree, Tully was not behaving well at all. Drew had done nothing wrong

Kudos to your open viewpoint :o
Yeah l.a.r.a is the only hardcore Tully supporter on here who can actually call a spade a spade once in awhile. Or at least attempt to see where others are coming from. Definitely has my respect even if I don't agree with the Tully love.
