Episode Day 31 (8/10/2014) Daily Show & Nominations

the thing about tonights show is that no one really did anything wrong deliberately.

- sam and priya thought they were having a bit of fun, hey Aisha is the easy going chick that doesn't seem to get bothered by much and they were both sorry and sad that she was sad.

- Aisha had a shit experience and she didn't speak up at the time. She felt like shit afterwards, and blamed herself for not speaking up and didn't want to upset sam and priya because she knew their intentions were not dark, but something wasn't sitting right, she needed some time and a good cry to sort out her feelings.

- everyone validated her feelings and tried to help, sam and priya felt bad. Priya went straight to Aisha, sam waited and in the interim trav approached him to recommend he apologise. Sam probably wanted to anyway, but this seemed like Trav was butting in, caused negative feelings, unintentional on travs behalf, but probs made things more difficult.

- trav wanted to look after Aisha but wanted to respect that she can look after herself. Inserted himself with good intentions but probably made sam feel like he was being chastised.

In then end I don't think anyone did anything with malice.

I actually like Aisha more.....yes in my eyes she over reacted over a bit of buffoonery that wasn't intended to upset her, but she is allowed to feel whatever she feels, and I think she handled it well and did not want to cause anyone any problems. She was upset and is allowed to be. Other people getting involved made the waters murky, but they did so out of good places, so they didn't do anything wrong either.

It was a lot to take in but at the end of the day I can't take sides because no one was trying to hurt anyone else, things just got "magnified" as they say, in the big brother house.

I guess this is what happens when you divide a bunch of self-seeking, self-entitled fame vampires into an upper class and a lower class.
It becomes Marie Antionettes vs the cake seekers.
Vive la revolution.

Maybe she knew that Lawson would be up anyway? She was more concerned with giving Travis a break from being nominated, and seeing that Sam, Sandra, and Jason were up for nominations just so that those three people could appreciate their time in the house. Maybe the same thought process on 'appreciating your time in the house' meant that Cat didn't care if Lawson was nominated or not.

I agree - she definitely wanted to give Travis a break, and mentioned wanting others to appreciate their time in the house more. You could also be right in that Cat thought Lawson would be up anyway, but I’m still thinking the conversation was to do with them and not the task (sorry! haha). :) I guess I just question Lawson risking the task (and potential $3K) just to have a conversation with Cat about how staff were being treated by guests.

Ps: I do enjoy the different ‘takes’ of events on here - makes it really interesting!

what I don't understand about cat and Lawson is why after they had their dirty little get together they can very easily ignore each other (out of guilt probably) but they didn't have the strength to ignore their feelings BEFORE they broke an innocent girls heart.

It was after Jake's eviction when the task was on hold that the conversation between Cat and Lawson took place.

I get that the intention is in the right place - not disagreeing with that at all. But even actions with the best intentions are ill fated. That's one of them. Listen to what she wants, calm down and wait. Don't think about what you would want, don't try to solve her problems. Sit and listen and support. He ended up making it a bigger drama than it needed to be, which is usually what happens when a third person is introduced to a 'two person' dispute.

Bullshit.

When a dude makes your chick cry due to manhandling and humiliating her ... you confront that dude.

It's called honour. It's called chivalry.

Trav may have been hamfisted in the way he went about it ... but he nevertheless stood up to the plate and defended his girl.

Kudos to him.

and she threw him under the bus.. which was so funny to watch may I add.

It was after Jake's eviction when the task was on hold that the conversation between Cat and Lawson took place.

The clip showed Jason 'reporting' back to the staff (who looked to be working in the kitchen) while in his uniform, so I assumed it was during the task. I didn't realise that the task was on hold. Good pick up though.

I just thought it was interesting that Cat didn't try to save Lawson, and based her possible reasoning on my view of events. It's really OK that we don't agree on this. :)

I just thought that Cat and Lawson were having a reasonable conversation after Jake's eviction.

Fair enough. And I probably read too much into body language. It came across to me as a bit tense and strained, but as I said before...damn BB and their editing! I do enjoy speculation, but can only do so much with a 5 second clip. :p

havent read the whole thread so sorry if u already mentioned it but did u see on Jump they say What really happened in the Bath. revealed tomorrow nite after the block !!

"The dude" was reacting to what his highly emotional 'chick' told him, he didn't know or see the whole truth for himself.
That has NOTHING to do with honour or chivalry; just a testosterone overload.

The very fact that she asked him NOT to interfere should have had any intelligent person wondering why.
But then I guess that explains the result - it needed to be handled with intelligence.

All in all, a good little juvenile soap opera that will gain votes from the appropriate fans.
Travis is destined for stardom on Home & Away after this series.

I didn't get to live comment tonight because work, but here's what I got from this episode;
1. Travis is overbearing and is was totally outsmarted in the conversation with Sam today. It seriously showed a lot about Travis' character, and I hope that the twelve year olds are content with Leo's abs and thus stop voting for Travis.
2. Cat is officially on my radar as a "hated housemate", she fact she gave Prisus 5 nom points make me hate her, and she'll be paying for my next phone bill.
3. The only reasonable explanation from Aisha's crying was either bad editing OR it's her "time of the month", it just didn't seem cohesive. I understand feeling weird about the spa, but surely it wasn't that bad? I just didn't imagine her to be so whiny, and I feel like we're missing things.
4. Editing IS SO OUT OF WHACK. OMG. Why not just show Aisha + Priya's conversation (after Lisa's eviction), later on in the show? Why start with that conversation and then jump back 14 hours without any warning, honestly, the producer's better be paying for the viewers medical bills because we are all getting whiplash from the jumping back and forth.
5. Skye must be the most annoying person to live with, I'm sure she's a lovely person but I'm surprised Lawson hasn't snapped at her more.
6. All the "Staff" are idiots, instead of uniting they created the division, thus ensuring they were all up for nominations... should have targeted Skye, David, Travis, Aisha and Cat instead of each other.
7. Prisus has holy water ... therefore confirming what we all knew, that she is Prisus.

Just finished watching.. well that episode tipped my vote away from Sandra as a possible winner for BB, for sure, ha! Her nomination reasons where so bad. Everything she said was taken out of its context and she didn't even read into that..."Soggy, but nice". I've had some nice soggy burgers before y'know... How's that.

Glad Lawson is up for noms, he seems a little up himself, sucked at the task and it's time for him to step up his game if he really wants to stay in there.. Interesting Cat didnt' take an interest in him she's obviously playing up and wants to show that she is trying to detach from him. Did Cat not realise that they can deduct points from the nominations - why didnt' she add save points for Trav if she wanted him out of the red zone, complete waste of points there ??

What grinded me about this episode was Priya... Soooo damn irritating. She was totally a part of that very crap looking massage. I'm a guy and I probably wouldn't have slept that night after such a shitty looking massage, it was dreadful and would not be worth 5c. And everyone had to have seen the way she was throwing those sponges around making an absolute mess, she just wasn't funny. And then she carries on like oh she should not have taken part in that.... This is not the first time she's really sucked at something, after the first week when she was head of house with Kate she just wanted to take all the money despite the housemates happyness, very selfish of her then she was unable to come up with a quick plan to at least bring some cheer into the house on the first week..
