Episode Day 31 (8/10/2014) Daily Show & Nominations

It's interesting that Cat didn't use her power to find out how many nomination points had or try to save him.

If the tables were turned, I doubt Travis would be that concerned with saving Cat.

You think THAT is controlling and freaky?

EEEYIKES! Who the fuck is that??!!

My guess is Ryan will win the 3 grand in the task?

Well, I hope anyway. Most likeable housemate for me. :)
He obviously is a nice guy coz he doesn't get nommed...

He dodged a missile by not being in the spa with Sam ... usually those two are together most of the time...

I guess tomorrow we will see who production hates the most. I'm betting on Lawson but it could be Sam.

She had to try to save someone I suppose. Although I'm not surprised she didn't try to save Lawson, I was taken aback about why she wasn't more concerned in saving Skye rather than Travis. She and Skye seemed to have built a good rapport from the footage we're seeing.

There's a few things with tonight's episode.

The whole Sam and Aisha thing. Firstly Sam was being overly rough and stupid as a form of revenge because Aisha wasn't gracious enough in her role in the hotel task. There's been an undercurrent through out the task of them trying to be jerks back to the guests and this was just after they're all complaining about Aisha. Further the whole, 'it was just a joke, they shouldn't get upset' is essentially the immediate go to defence when someone is a bully. It's not recognizing the position of the person upset. It's a narcissistic and unhealthy attitude to hold that lacks any form of empathy.

My biggest damn issue with the whole thing was Aisha saying she feels bad for feeling bad and everyone essentially nodding and being like, 'yes.' That is no alright. She doesn't have to feel bad about feeling bad. No one should act like that is ok. I can't even really think of the words to express what I want to say, but the idea that a victim feels bad for the perpetrator or bad that they feel bad is a completely unhealthy attitude to accept and I was disappointed that no one in the house expressed this. Someone should have said, 'you don't have to feel bad at all.'

Now the Travis thing, I don't see what the fuck Travis did wrong. He wasn't all strutting and confrontational. I think Sam's reaction to it really had to do with the fact he didn't want a stronger person, a more dominant, assertive person than Aisha standing between him and her. Travis would have been wrong to have taken the attitude of letting it slide. Someone he cares about was upset, who the fuck wouldn't want to take a bit of that on board and stand up for them.

Sam's attitude after this whole thing, he's gone way down in my books. You just admit you did something wrong, it wasn't intentional and move on. Instead of trying to deflect onto Travis because you don't want someone more capable of standing up to you in the way of you doing what you want.

Noms,

Sandra.. give me a break... Her example of what Travis should have said about the soggy burger would have gotten more evils. Look at how they reacted to Aisha wanting her dinner in the microwave for a few more seconds to be warmer. When you saw the 'soggy' comment combined with a jokey tone and then saying how good it was... Then the Skye thing, once again a joke... Some of these housemates really have an attitude with the task. They are unhappy they aren't being waited on and when the guests joke or play with it, it's not acceptable. Of course the staff can be as rude and fuck around as much as they want.

Surely they failed the task.

Travis nominating for the pancakes seemed silly, except for the fact they were deliberately making it as unhealthy as possible.

I don't think that they were nodding and agreeing with her feeling bad for feeling bad as far as I remember. I thought they were nodding about the way she felt bad for not asserting herself in the situation. It is difficult, especially for young women, to assert themselves when they are half naked in a room with other people, but essentially she should be able to stand up for herself. Ultimately, if she had been able to say no, or suggested that she was very unhappy, it is quite likely that the situation would not have continued. She recognised that, she recognised that she had laughed along with it and had never said (from what we were actually shown) that they should stop. In terms of her feeling bad for him, the fact that she was laughing only goaded him on, I think, and she felt bad that maybe he would be blindsided by the fact that she was actually upset by his actions. I don't think anyone said to her that she was overreacting or agreed that she should feel bad for feeling horrible - only Sam did in the privacy of the diary room. Skye actually did say 'you don't have to feel bad' (as I recall).
Nevertheless, Sam should have read the situation better. He knows her just as well as anyone else, more than us. He should know better how she may react to such treatment, and he should have understood from the way she was behaving that it was inappropriate to do with her (perhaps not with everyone, but definitely with her). Priya realised this when she saw Aisha's face at the end and immediately went to rectify the situation.
Also, Travis did do the wrong thing. It's her battle, let her fight it. It made her look immature and embarassing to have her boyfriend go and fight her battles for her. He didn't actually listen to her when she said she was unsure whether she wanted him to say anything, and that she didn't know what to do right now. Gross macho, not to mention high-school immature, behaviour on his part.

Was Lawson always this snippy? I wonder if he's been like this all this time and we just weren't seeing much of it
