I haven't really noticed much hate but then I don't often visit many Matt threads. Personally I think the guy is a perfectly likeable person just not a particularly entertaining HM for me (at least not yet).

Absolutely.
On reflection I can't help but feel how helplessly sad ViennaBiscuits (Estelle's very close friend) must have felt when she came in here last year and had to wade through the Estelle hate. It is so awful to read things about a person, you know are simply not true. While I don't really know Matt personally (I have seen him at a few parties), I do know his brother Luke and his wife live an enchanted life. And I guess that is what you take away. While Matt is living his dream, has awesome friends and a loving family, the nameless haters are in here are t-t-t-t-tapping their vented hate filled views to a bunch of cyber misfits they don't even know.
There are some queer people in here. And when I say queer, I mean nasty, vitriolic spewing hate machines. It is one thing to have a dig, most of us are guilty of that, but to take it to that next level where it become defamatory ie Matt being sexist, or the insults are about how awful someone’s face looks, that is taking it too far.
There is one particularly poster in here (you might recognise her, she constantly spews hate and can't spell or formulate a sentence) and for some reason she adores to target the twins for no other reason outside the fact she hates the way they look and dress. When reading this poster, I have found the majority of her badly written posts target housemates looks or superficial traits. Personally I feel if you are going to target looks to that extreme degree, you really need to upload a recent picture of yourself for us to critique. $5 says this particular poster is 50 years old and should know better, is as ugly as a hatful of arseholes, has no friends outside the internet due to her social retardedness (and even they don't like her much...), is a horrendous dresser AND has a limp! (not that there is anything wrong with that... Ha!)

It is so hard for me, your first instinct when you actually know them or the family is to passionately defend, particularly when the comments are relating to how “ugly” he is, but in this arena that is only going to end with a permanent banning for me, and no one (except for 94% of the downstairs members) want that! Ha!

Standing interviews are more awkward, I just can't understand why they don't get a couch?!?
At least the gold ones were a slight improvement over the silver, but a couch would be best. Perhaps we should start betting on the colour of next weeks chair?

Does anyone else feel this years evictions (especially last night) seem rushed when they chat to them - it's literally 5 minutes to talk then the music for the ad break starts practically as soon as they get up from the seats - then they are forgotten about forever...........I mean really, it's not like we'll ever hear from Sharon, Xavier or Rohan again. Can't they be bought back at least for noms? It almost makes you NOT want to apply to be on the show if that's how you're treated once the show is up.

I hate it when a HM flys under the radar or does the poor woe is me shyte.
I don't want another pot plant winning (Trevor, Aleisha)
We aren't seeing Matt. (either he is boring or he says things that can't be shown)

It makes you think about some of the people who vote when they say I voted for him/her because they are sexy etc etc

I totally agree with you.
We also wasted time with a kind of graphic, lol, I don't even remember exactly what it was. We saw some HMs graphics with captions saying: there were 2 who did that, than 4 this, etc... I though how stupid to waste time on something somebody created instead of us seeing the HMs

I think it's indicative of the way in which the format of the show has changed. In that we're no longer getting as invested in the HMs as people but rather they've become actors playing a part in BBs little side show. The evicted HMs become unnecessary to the plot since they can no longer be involved in BBs diary room antics therefore they don't rate mentioning again.
Now I may seem overly pessimistic in my assessment but I want to be clear that I'll always be firmly of the opinion that any BB is better than none. Do I wish we could go back to the old format? Yes. But I'm realistic enough to admit that such a wish is just nostalgia and that it probably wouldn't work.

Sad, but true - and very well said.
I agree with you that the interviews are rushed and that it was better when they bring them back for noms / rove live interviews etc. However I don't agree with your closing comments. Being a housemate shouldn't necessarily ENTITLE you to anything after your eviction. I think it's up to them to capitalize on their 5 minutes of fame.
So yeah... I agree it was better, just think you go on BB to go on BB, your exposure post show is up to you / how interesting you are as o whether media cares about you
