Wow, that was a difficult watch and it was only episode 2.
To those bitching about members that are disappointed with this reboot - it's unfair of you to expect everyone to be satisfied after the amazing promotional campaign 10 have been running for the better part of 2025. You're verbalising being content and others should be able to do the same with an opposing view. Even more so to the long time fans.
They promised a return to the OG format and have not delivered outside of it being back to live. I understand things need to be modernised but what we're seeing is a washed up version of [UK network that can't be named] and the utter garb that 7 pushed on us. The UK's version does not need to be the "modern" template. Be original! The general consensus with this reboot is we were NOT going down that route again. There MUST be a happy medium between what 10 originally produced and the crap we've watched the last couple nights. Hell, I'd take Kris Noble's version back at this point if he is still around.
Yes, it's still early days. Yes, they still have a chance to make some tweaks. My concern is they've already set the precedent for how they're going to edit and produce this show. Sometimes it's small things that add up to create an issue everyone shares. The voice, lackluster house, editing style, backing tracks, launch night flops, emoting first-person BB... added all together and they're a pretty big issue. Mel has been the only positive constant the last couple days, and I do think they've mostly been successful in their casting this year.
I'm willing to give it a week and see if they can get their act together until I opt to switch off for the final time. I am happy Big Brother is back, but I really do believe this is Australia's last attempt at actually keeping this show on the air. They need to do it right and right now they are failing. After watching the old streams for the last several months I think they're heavily under-delivering. Part of the reasons for the streams was touted at being an opportunity for producers to see what worked and what didn't. From what I've seen they must've not watched a single episode. Even a simple change like how they're editing this (in a Disney/Nickelodeon style, no less) could make or break the season. It's plastered all over the most recent threads. Most are not liking the new editing style. Most are not liking therapist Big Brother. Most are not liking the house. Most are not liking the elevator music.
Oddly, I'm still optimistic this season can still turn itself around. The coming days well tell.
I will say this, if you aren't happy with how they're producing the show, post it on their social feeds. They're reading them before they tap 'hide'. If enough people comment then someone will be sharing feedback with the powers that be. It's also likely that because of fans like us voicing their frustration during the 7 days is the reason 10 even opted to resuscitate the show and bring back the live format.
I've watched BB since 2003. Some modern changes were expected to meet the views of a modern audience. This is NOT it. Do better.
