Spent the better part of the last 6 to 8 months playing mental gymnastics to convince myself this would be a series worth watching… I shouldn’t be sitting here on day 2 playing the same stupid game. The curse of popularity is it's far too many posts to catch upon but not a bad second show. Could do without the dramatic music behind the DRs but from the comments I saw before watching it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I feared. The "cliffhanger" should have been resolved live though.
Mel is killing it. Next test will be noms - hopefully in week 1 the HMs are given some leeway rather than interrupted constantly until producers get their soundbite.

I just don’t know who in the c-suite was like “oh yeah, we need to revive it again because the people want *this*!” and then proceed to produce a similar version of the same format that failed miserably. Lots of feedback was given, including on the YouTube chat. It was right in front of them what viewers wanted. It’s hard when there was so much hype and emphasis on the return to old school and the literal months spent rewatching the glory days.
Maybe watching the gradual decline across all seasons should have been a clue, but i guess we wanted to believe!
Look, I'll still watch it. There's still time for them to turn it around.Spent the better part of the last 6 to 8 months playing mental gymnastics to convince myself this would be a series worth watching… I shouldn’t be sitting here on day 2 playing the same stupid game.
Michael just complained about cyclists on footpaths.Jane is a Donald Trump supporter, and Michael wants a war on cyclists.
These have to go first.
I don’t think anyone is complaining about the housemates. I’d like to believe they could turn it around but like I said earlier, I think they’ve set the precedent for the rest of the season.Look, I'll still watch it. There's still time for them to turn it around.
The thing is they've got EVERYTHING to make it a good show, it's not the HM's fault or the house. It's production.
I’m not giving up just yet but I’m not exactly hopeful either. They can make small adjustments in the way they’re approaching things but they can’t exactly wipe the slate clean.Look, I'll still watch it. There's still time for them to turn it around.

Literally this. Also reformat the show a bit, don't try and turn a special into a daily show with an "added extra" at the end and showing Mel for about 20 minutes in total.- drop the music
- drop the first person therapist big brother
- don’t use the DR as a confessional to narrate the story.
- let the housemates just do their thing with minimal interference.
She also grabbed white prada heels with the hat when Colin brought the clothes outShe probs gets sponsors and advertising stuff. She was wearing a designers outfit entering the house to show off, she also had some special visor hat on too the next day. Wouldnt surprise me if she has supply hookups with brands for makeup/skin care too
I think it's hard to find a reality show that has a more basic approach to editing, but I'd refer to other content that are somewhat similar to Big Brother of the old days.
I completely agree. One of the most annoying things from tonight’s episode was BB playing therapist… It’s one thing for BB to be there to vent about issues and another thing for BB to give HM’s advice or words of encouragement. It completely undermines the premise of the show. We watch the show for the HM’s. Resolution of problems comes from THE HM’s.
The whole Colin situation would have been so much more impactful if we saw him confide in one of his HM’s and seeing them try and lift him back up… There was something about BB doing it multiple times that felt empty. Also very strange considering the drama around Leon and production wanting a more generic BB.
I’m not saying BB can’t show compassion or understanding but ultimately I find it way more stratifying when HM’s are left to solve their own problems.
Hopefully that makes sense. My head is spinning right now…
Same. And what drove me maddest was that schmaltzy voice BB used. What happened to "badder", as per the promos?I completely agree.![]()
I think it’s safe to assume now that the promos were advertising a farce.Same. And what drove me maddest was that schmaltzy voice BB used. What happened to "badder", as per the promos?
Maybe that was what they were planning had Leon stuck around.Same. And what drove me maddest was that schmaltzy voice BB used. What happened to "badder", as per the promos?
The whole Jane hiding thing was another level of ridiculousness when they literally gave her the answer. It was one thing to give me a peak at the floor plan and another altogether to show her places to hide. It’s way too early in the series for this shit… Chuck her in and let’s just get on with it.Literally this. Also reformat the show a bit, don't try and turn a special into a daily show with an "added extra" at the end and showing Mel for about 20 minutes in total.
Also, don't use Jane hiding in a vent as a cliff hanger, don't have cliff hangers at all. Produce the show properly, and you won't have to wrap things up as shit like that.
Look, I'll still watch it. There's still time for them to turn it around.
