Episode Day 16 (23/09/2014) Live EVICTION #1

Even though Gemma annoyed me with her bizarre tactics I thought the way she was evicted was so cruel and mean spirited. The big wigs surely knew she was going to go way before last week was over with. Couldnt they have cancelled or at least shelved this 'the house votes face to face' until she was gone. Gemma had barely 1-2 people that tolerated her in there so it was a foregone conclusion if she was a choice to go she was out. Just felt like salt in the wound really. I know they all signed up and equal treatment and all that, but it just felt so nasty...

It looks really bad until you realize that it can't be that much of a surprise to her considering that her tactics have been to wind them up and to alienate herself from everyone in a bid to win the viewers over. Gemma thought that if she could make the viewers love her then it would not matter how often she was up for eviction because the viewers would save her. If we had seen her actually struggling to make friends I would have felt horrible for her. She tried something and she failed. The best thing she can do is own it.

The only good thing to come from face to face nominations/evictions is the oblivious players sometimes finally wake up and realize there are alliances in the house. I think Priya is aware she will be nominated next which is why she stood behind Gemma instead of following the pack.

Priya voted tactically know faîr well that Gemma would still go! Priya thort she showed a heart! Priya out next week!!

Maybe?
But they keep hiding fabulous Priya, she's like a guest star:(
Think Sam may be one of the chosen???
I hope Priya is sitting back, letting others self-destruct - like Gemma just did. Ryan seems to be doing it too - letting Travis feel like the alpha, while he watches from the side-lines, letting the king sit pretty, as he digs himself deeper into a hole.

Priya is, hopefully, doing the same with Katie and Lisa.
I wonder why BB chose to show us Katie Cupcake,Fiery Redhead Gemma, Mandurah Magic Lawson,Gym Junkie Dion, and Posh Spice Priya's promo vids while the HM's were in lockdown

Good question. Gemma clearly had a strategy going it. It was a rubbish strategy, but maybe she talked a good game during selection, and it was a surprise how bad she was.. Last year Tully was supposed to be a contender - BB didn't expect her to implode so utterly and so quickly.

Then again, Rohan talked himself up too, and he was about as effective as Gemma.

Those chosen few - maybe they were pushed forward to fail, maybe to succeed. It would be interesting to hear an honest answer about it. I am sure Alex would be able to clear it up for us.

Dion maybe and of course Ryan, he is leaving his run late like a true Melbourne cup horse.
I think Ryan will be more like Ed last year. Travis can be seen as an unlikable Caleb. Dion, quiet, strong, is the Matt. Jason is our goofy gay this year, like Ben, or possibly like Xavier, a nerd who wants to run with the big boys. David and Lawson play by their own rules, like Tim and Drew. (OK, David sometimes plays by Tim's rules too, but the distraction seems to have worked.) Is Priya like Mikkayla, sent in to correct grammar and get under people's skin? Or is she a contender? Ryan, he will let Travy have his moment, but what will he be like when he has a taste of power? I think he will self destruct.

Ungh I wish Travis had just gone home - but, Gemma did ask for it. Ryan will have his time on the throne, but only so he can be dethroned by one of the misfits. The last two BBs have followed this pattern, and I can't see why BB would change anything. The popularity on these forums seems to suggest that the people watching are not fans of that type, preferring an outsider to win over a top Aussie bloke like Trav or Ryan.

I wonder what BS fairytales Jake is telling his housemates. It's curious that BB hasn't shown any of this apparently unfortunate, sentimental backstory. If he can afford to split rent with Tim, he is in no way living paycheck to paycheck. If I give him the benefit of doubt and rationalise that maybe Jake is at "permanent guest" status and living off Tim's couch... whinging about feeling guilty for spending $80 at clubs (and still spending 80 at clubs) is not a good look. I think the 5k should have went to Dion or Jason as they were the runnerups.

Gemma put the nail in her own coffin. Her "strategy" was convoluted shite. And she was a walking contradiction. The only sentiment of hers I found genuine is that she wanted all the attention on her because dit showed in every action she made. The tears, both real and fake. The condescending comments. The orders she would give the housemates. Her controlling nature and the strops she would throw when she didn't get her way. I'm all for keeping a good antagonist but she irritated the hell out of me. The only legacy she leaves is being the grandest attention whore of the bunch. A remarkable achievement indeed.
