David Appreciation Thread

At first David was the underdog, the fellow the other housemates treated horribly, from what we can decipher from the HM news embargo that is BB this year. He took it stoically, with grace and we loved him for it. He then stood up to Lisa and we loved him all the more. His "partner" Sandra treated him like moldy day old bread and yet he remained loyal and exhibited compassionate for her, no matter the circumstances, and our numbers grew, He has treated Priya with respect knowing her for a fellow gamer with good insights into the game, her fans are frequently David fans as well. He has been grateful for kindness shown, no matter whom from and now formed a friendship in the house with Ryan, something he said he'd been missing out on and once again shown his loyalty. He is again standing up for himself, honestly and forthrightly in the face of a young woman who believes it is just fine to maliciously tell him he shouldn't be in the house anymore, he isn't ugly to her; just honest about their relationship in the house. Australia couldn't find a more worthy winner. Just my two Texas cents worth on why David should win in the house and probably already has in life.
Well said :)

I'm actually surprised by the new ad where is says only 2 weeks left and the strongest 2 blow up, referring to David & Skye.

So you have blocked yourself. COOL

@Kaz I'm glad I don't converse with people like you. :p

And it's not possible to block yourself anyway. But toilets can. So I guess you might.

Did anyone notice Skye refer to David as a strong player from inside the house but not from the public? And Ryan is strong from within the house and outside the house, and that she (slye) is not strong inside the house but is strong outside? Wtf how does she come to that conclusion? David has been saved so many times.

No wonder @MelKen is getting upset on twitter/facebook, if BB's twitter account tweets something like this??rant.gif
the best you can do is post a 'truth bomb' when people are lying or twisting the story

@BBAU9 IT WAS A GOD DAMN TASK NOT A PERSONAL ATTACK ON SKYE - get off your high horses ppl and see it for what it was - BB stirring the pot!

BB was stirring the pot with that task...
I laughed out loud but would have laughed with any family DVD
David went and said sorry to Skye afterwards, where I would have
BOOM BITCH:D

Skye has made it known she doesn't like David by her jealous rants, pulling faces and rolling eyes etc and they weren't sleeping in the same bedroom, so why start now. David's telling the truth that they dont get along, so better in different bedrooms, as it was possibly causing conflict with deciding who slept where.

I do believe that David has made friends. He's just not there to kick back and have a holiday and his personality won't appeal to everyone and he knows that. He's not some smooth talker who will always say the right thing - he can be awkward and non politically correct and makes his calls based on his own thoughts, not because everyone else may feel the same way and that's what I like about him.

I don't necessarily think that friends will win you BB but you do need to show the voting public exactly who you are and by nature, that's not always going to be perfect. Connect with enough people and you will get there. We'll see though, everyone has different aspects of people that they like or don't like.

We're not referring to the outside though. We're referring to their friendship within the house, and in that context at least it seems to be genuine and working for them. All of them have been thrown into a house with people they wouldn't normally associate with on the outside...that's the whole point of the show really.

As for Ryan "sucking up" to the others after his friends were evicted, as @tanique already pointed out, we see that every single year as people are evicted. Those left are forced to spend time with others they hadn't previously and they often they develop friendships with new HMs. It's exactly the same thing that happened to Tahan last year after all her friends were evicted. She formed a friendship in the house with people like Drew who had originally called her vile and Tim whom she didn't originally get along with.

David may not come away with a real bestie, but has made some friends in the house, and the only real 'enemy' atm is Skye.
David said in the DR when he was feeling on the outer, that he really appreciates his real life friends and they get him, and that's what really matters in the long run.
I haven't watched Lawson,Cat or Aisha's interviews yet but Lawson and Cat weren't mad at him for choosing Cat to come visit the house, to remind viewers of Clawson, and last week Aisha said to the girls she loved David (much to skye's disgust hehe)
A lot of the evictees have shown support for David on SM, either wanting him to stay in the house or he's their top 2-3 to win.
None of the evictees have come out and said David was their bestie but none have thrown him under the bus either...even Lisa has shown support, and said they came closer after their spa fight...
Most of the evictees have had something bad to say about Skye's behaviour in the house...apart from Jason(and maybe Dion?)

David must be doing something right in his social game, since the time he received those 18 points
the following week he received NO points
Skye put him up with her HOH power
Priya put him up with her HOH power
BB put everyone up for eviction
and this week he isn't up for evictions

I'm still giving Ryan the benefit of the doubt with his friendship with David, and since Sam left, I don't think we've heard a bad word from him about David, and he's never nominated him... and he did comfort David that time when Sandra was crying after him telling her to not spend so much time the cleaning the house, when she could be getting to know the HM's.
I still remember Ryan's nosing picking and armpit rubbing in the DR though eek lol and I wonder how much of a fan of BB he really is..he applied for The Block and was poached by BB, although I'm sure he would've had to do some parts of the audition process?

I just love watching David more and more every episode. :D
I think of him every time I'm up at all hours of the night watching English Premier League. My son and I are madly passionate about it too (Arsenal fans). I'm just wondering which team David supports? I couldn't find any references to that on a search so please forgive me if it's been mentioned.
Even though EPL fans are fiercely loyal to their respective teams, I'd still support David (even if he was a Tottenham fan LOL.) ;) <3

I just lost it with that! The general consensus is David could have waited till the end and then smashed it but I reckon he would have failed the task by doing that and also any other housemate would have fine the same thing! Plus if it had been any other housemate there wouldn't be this drama!
Thing that gets me is that there is very little reaction in the house about it all yet social media is on a war path!

@BigSisterEm and @MelKen I have a question for you. Did you honestly think David would last this long in the game? No shade, just curious about his hopes for the game, and your hopes for him. It wasn't looking good there for a while, and now the end is in sight. Is it relief now, or growing nervousness?
To be honest, I hoped he would but never really thought about it. All I wanted was him to not go first (that was his biggest worry too) and from that just take each week as it comes.
David arranged with his mate Lisa and @BigSisterEm to have certain bday cards sent so my daughter got hers start of oct, Emma got hers and Lisa's bday was 30th oct and he had a card ready for her so David certainly seemed to think he could make it this far. Whether his thoughts changed when he entered the house and had the first two weeks from hell we will have to find out when he gets out but yeah I had a bit of faith he would do well as long as he stayed true to himself.

That's really thoughtful.
Your family can be proud knowing people have kept him in this long just for being himself.
