David Appreciation Thread

David's in the ad I just saw. Saying about the new HMs "it's highly unlikely we're all going to get along" so at least we know he gets some airtime. Of course the majority of the ad was about the friggen couples being split up but at least him (and Priya also) made it to the ad and will actually be shown. Pretty sad that I even have to hope for that this season

I'm kinda happy in my recent realisation that they seem to be going to an effort to show Dave a bit lately. I think the producers are starting to like him which isn't really surprising considering he feeds them ideas and is one of the few that seems to be trying his best to make things interesting. I feel a bit sorry for David and Priya in that regard actually. They want to play the game but they've been put in there with most underwhelming HMs ever that aren't interested in doing it with them.

I totally agree. I was just saying in the Post thread that I feel sorry for any of this year's HMs who tried out last year but made it on this one instead. It's like the majority of this year's crew act like the word strategy is a dirty word. Last year there were so many of them full on playing the game, some better than others, but at least there was very little pretense of what they were there for and that they wanted to win. And they weren't cocky about it. They just reveled in the game of BB itself. David and Priya would've loved last year's season.
 
From watching the odd snippet here and there, I think that David's enjoying talking/joking with BB (Leon?) in the DR, probably someone to bounce ideas off and gets his sense of humour...


I think David's going to be thrilled when he finally meets the voices of BB, and he loved when Sonia knew his name:D lol

Yep, so true. Pretty much everything about last season was better. Even if the biased editing pissed me off last year at least we actually saw something. The showmances are just too much this year too. I know there were showmances last year too but even they were better. Even if you didn't care for Drully or Jaded at least they produced genuine conflicts that were able to draw the other HMs in. This year they're all just separated off in their little pairs hooking up and that's all we see.

If David had have left a few weeks ago I doubt I would still have any interest in this series.

I didn't really pay attention to this but I just replayed and is the majority of the clip the guy recording singing over David? what a twat!

OK I missed it due to a macdonalds fuckup so my totally uninformed comment to the event: Did it really warrant the telling off? Like, people piss you off and you think "meh just fuck off" and then you get over it.

EDIT I saw the telling off but not the chanting.

She deserved to speak up for herself. I absolutely don't think the boys meant any malice by it (David and Travis obviously think they're close enough to her to joke around and the newbies just wanted to fit in) but I can see why she would have been uncomfortable...especially Priya whom I'm sure would have been ashamed by failing the task so they were hitting a sore spot.

The level of telling off though was way over the top considering they didn't mean anything by it.

My "fucking himself over" comment was in relation to his cultural misunderstanding comment to Priya. I absolutely don't think it was meant to be racist (more a case of Dave's foot in mouth disease) but people will jump on that sort of thing.

Yeah I honestly think Priya kind of overreacted and I don't fault David. I think he meant it in good fun and no bad intention. Personally it annoyed me how sensitive Priya was to it. BUT todays show made him look kind of 'racist' or at least people on facebook seem to think so. I have to admit when he brought up the cultural thing I shook my head knowing people will take it the wrong way.

Hopefully they show more shows and David gets a good edit :)
