David Appreciation Thread

Sam, Sandra, Ryan and Lawson really believe they're running the show and seem to have forgotten to an extent that it's the public who decides who goes home. You notice how when BB asked Sam if he was happy to see David on the top of the ladder he said "after today I am"? All it takes is the three of them bringing their chat they had about David down from the treehouse into the main house and discussing it with other HMs. Say to someone "man when David talks about strategy it really brings me down" and human nature will send your brain scrambling for instances to back up the claim of your friend. Confirmation bias #101. Suddenly you remember the time he chatted to you or someone else told you they chatted to him (even if it was just Sam) and bingo - he talks about strategy too much and there's your excuse for nominating him. Unless I'm having a mind fade, other than the chat with Sam we've never seen David talk strategy with anyone. BB couldn't even show relevant clips like they did for the other reasons people chose to nominate a HM.

Obviously for all I know David is sitting there chatting 24/7 about strategy and we're just not seeing it but I find it strange that this week we haven't heard this complaint at all and there's no footage to back it up yet after the treehouse chat, boom! David talks strategy constantly and he's hammered with nom points.

BB's clips have been off this season. I still don't understand why they showed the clip they did when Sandra said he talked about her again. Then, on the other hand, they are protecting Skye like crazy with what they aren't showing. A lot wrong with this season. Speaking of Sandra, she irked me so bad this episode, where David was concerned. I wish she would spare us about how she still feels protective. She voted for him, because her little clique did. She should own that. He still wants to be her friend and she voted for him. I couldn't dislike her more if I tried. What makes it worse is her saying how she cares about him. Nice way to show it.
I think it's not looking so great. With the addition of Leo, there is more reason not to show him. Still hoping we get something with him. The joke is, if you're not linked to someone, it seems you'll just get less airtime. Fingers crossed for him.

In retrospect David should have ripped her a new one for getting down off the totem pole, but he didn't. He should tell her she's an insecure whiny dumbass, but he doesn't. Sandra didn't deserve David as a partner. She should have been stuck with someone like Lisa. If only David had been paired with someone else. His association with Sandra (and the ever present chip on her shoulder) killed his chances from the start.

I have faith that he'll be voted to save. Things change quickly. The dynamics will change hugely if people like Lisa and Jake go this week. Skye will need to form new connections, while Lisa continually makes toxic remarks about David to everyone.

Oh, absolutely. I called her the worst partner, and I meant it. She was horrible to him, and continues to be that way. He was much more concerned with her feelings than his, which is why I believe he didn't say much. Still can't believe she blew that challenge.

@Mrs Butterface I forgot to mention, that group ABSOLUTELY thinks they are running things. I can't wait for them to be broken up. I'm hoping Leo will help do it.

I was thinking of the worst possible partner for Sandra. And imagine if Gemma and Sandra had been partnered. Now that would have been a hot mess of the highest order. My idea partner for David would have (surprisingly) been Dion, or maybe Jake.

Yeah Sandra's horrid. Absolutely the worst. The night she jumped off the totem pole I had said something on here about how I would've kicked her straight in the nuts if she were my partner. Even if it got me thrown out of the house, so be it because at that point I wouldn't have known the pairs would soon be coming to an end and I wouldn't have been able to stand to look at her. And that's ignoring the Sam bullshit.

I had just said in the Leo thread that until tonight I didn't even realise Priya and Jason considered themselves a team until they talked about bringing Leo into it and I have no clue who else is involved, if anyone. That's where David needs to be and if they get Leo, they can get smitten kitten Skye. Obviously Travis and Aisha don't know that Sam, Lawson and Ryan got them with nom points this week but if they could then use Skye to get them onboard too, even better. They need to shift the power somehow so they can create a bubble around themselves until it comes to the time when they inevitably have to turn on each other and pick their own team off one by one. With all the strategy chat being allowed this year you'd think it'd be easier to do now than in previous seasons but sadly I suspect David is still too loyal to Sandra.

You're right, there are opportunities there begging. David needs to stop talking to Sam and think outside that square. Forget them, stop the defensive, and work with others that aren't so cocky and seemingly rock-solid. Forget all loyalty to Sandra.

His nomination points are worth just as much as the others. Five gets you nominated, he holds four in his hand. Stop it with any 3/2 votes and hit people with 4's. OMG I wanna drop him a note Hunger Games style, only mine would say "Don't trust Lawson/Sam/Sandra and Stay Alive".

Yes, I think Jason would be receptive to David, and he has a fresh start with Leo. He needs to align himself with someone, even if it's for strategic reasons. He might even enjoy his time in the house more. You can be unique, but I don't think this is the type of game you'll get through alone.

But so called Leo the liar probably does have a TV or would have some idea who was who in the house and who was popular so if he starts latching onto David you know why.

I can't see much changing until Sam, Sandra, Lawson and Ryan are hit with some serious points and they start questioning whether someone from their own alliance has thrown points their way. At the moment everyone else (the bigger characters) are just targeting one another so it's allowing them to keep going and thinking like they're running the house. Sad part is David is still loyal to Sandra (and I think he thinks he's friends with Sam by association) and while that's an endearing quality I don't think it will allow him to start targeting her or her group in noms.

Another thing that would seriously have them question things would be David getting most saved. I seriously doubt he will but it would be pretty amazing given how quickly Sam, Sandra and co were to dismiss David being the popular one that saved Sandra.

Another thing about David is that he's actually very perceptive about who is and isn't popular on the outside. He seems to know that Skye is popular but I think a lot of the others think Lisa got her saved considering I doubt they'd be that mean to her if they knew she was popular on the outside.

So I thought maybe today...we would get some clarity on why the house was "so mad" at David before voting. Nope. No clips, no explanations, nada. Just hot-mess Sandra feeling sorry for herself and trying to backpedal..."oh, I'm worried it might look like I betrayed him...but there were umm...4? times when he was told something in confidence and told others...snivel snivel". Really Sandra? I thought you nominated him because he insulted your chest size? Even production didn't know wtf you were talking about...so they included a clip of him insulting himself. Now you are spouting some other crap...which I suspect was coached by Sam. She can try to justify it all she wants...she probably did it for Sam and she will keep voting however Sam wants her to vote. Oh and I knew Katie was talking out of her ass. Sandra has NOT gotten over Sam...nor will she.

Mrs. Butterface was right...Sam wanted him up, so the whole OTTC Club made it happen. That is why Sam was happy David was at the top...his STRATEGY worked. But I guess only OTTC can strategize. In fact...speaking of crappy partners (looking at you Sandra)...I bet these hypocrites would persecute David or Skye and form a lynch mob if either of them ever tried to have feelings for a housemate who was taken. Just a look of longing would have started the group huddles of whispered hate. But since thou-who-can-do-no-wrong Sam and Lawson are in the OTTC, not only can Sandra and Cat get away with their disgusting fawning and adoration...BUT Sam can continue to let Sandra paw all over him while he ignores the obvious AND Lawson can admit his feelings in return (but it's ok...he told her he can't act on them) and this is perfectly acceptable because they are in the "right" group. :bored:

And last of all, why aren't we being shown these "4" incidents where David betrayed trust? Haven't even seen one time this happen from him. What I HAVE seen is just about everybody else in the house guilty of doing it numerous times. So...again...why can EVERYBODY else do it, say it, act it, strategize it, make fun of it, hell...BREATHE but David and it's ok? It's not. I hate that shit so much. Even if I didn't like David...which isn't the case...GO SLAVID, I would still be rooting for him because this unfair "ganging up on the scapegoat for everything we are guilty of doing ourselves" bullshit pisses me off! :madd:

Sigh...rant over. :cautious:

Can I just say, the treehouse sucks. There is too much open jibber jabber this season. There should be more focus on gut instinct, reading people, and playing people than allowing huge bitch fests in the treehouse.

The "uncools" (which I think are actually the coolest people) need to start working together. I'm talking Priya, Jason, David and Skye. I can't foresee Leo ingratiating himself into the Lawson/Ryan/Sam group so he is a potential, and maybe even an infiltrator.

David must have worked out that at least 5 HM's nominated him or I wonder if he's thinking that maybe Sam gave him extra points with his superpower?

I wonder who the 'public' have voted as the new HOH for this week? Lisa must be time for another female?
The cool group have too much power with Lawson and Sam as HOH's...don't forget they consider Cat part of it, and now Lisa since she likes Ryan.
Leo seemed to be keen to met Sam, and has spent time with Lisa...

David pretty much got an invisible edit last night apart form talking to BB in the DR about being nominated. I wonder if he will be shown tonight at least doing the Yes/No task. I bet BB originally planned to get David to shave his beard off during this task...

But so called Leo the liar probably does have a TV or would have some idea who was who in the house and who was popular so if he starts latching onto David you know why.
I wonder if Leo went into lockdown for a few days with a friend/agent? surely they would have given him a little run down about BB, if Leo hadn't been watching it?

Leo seemed to be keen to met Sam, and has spent time with Lisa...

Not only that, but when he was first introduced to the group in the kitchen...he pointed at Sandra and they gave eachother a hug like they had met before. Maybe is was at auditions...who knows. But him seeing a familiar hot-mess might draw him to her group of friends. I mean with OTTC getting back-to-back power, the advantage of one of them meeting Leo first and giving their biased (delusional) opinion of the housemates as his first impression, and then seeing an OTTC that he has met before in this crowd of strangers...seems pretty stacked in their favor to bring him into their clique...if they wanted to. Way to even the odds, BB... I don't think I can sit through another BB season of production manipulating it so a certain group gets all of the advantages, perks and breaks...unfairly. Anyone who has watched any other recent seasons, outside of BBAU, knows what I'm talking about...

Sandra lived on the Gold Coast before she moved back to Wagga Wagga to live with her parents, plus Leo is an underwear model, and Sandra is a manager for underwear brand Bonds
maybe BB will show them interacting tonight?

what's OTTC?

Yeah...they definitely seemed to have met before. He pointed at her and said something like, "right?"...and she got up and gave him a hug, asked how he was and said it was good to see him.

OTTC Club was a joke I made yesterday. It is a play off of Lisa telling Skye she is OTT...over the top. So I called that whole clique the OTTC...only think they're cool...Club.

Yeah, that's the G-rated version anyway. In my head, I have been known to have it stand for something more vulgar...
