David Appreciation Thread

I'm a bit worried about him based on the FB likes and comments (they're usually a pretty good indication). The biggest supported housemates seems to be Skye and Aisha but I'm hoping they'll split votes...likewise Travis and Aisha's fans. There's barely any comments for Cat and Jake but Cat got the most saves last week by a mile and you never know with Jake given his connection to Tim and the "love triangle" business that might get him more airtime. Most of the comments are saying "evict Lisa" but all that does is usually fire that HM's fans up to vote.

That's what I found annoying - we heard the housemates bitching about him then they'd show a short little snippet which appeared to back up what they were saying about him, so he definitely got the bad edit in last night's show. It amazes me that some people voting base their opinion on those sort of moments which are more akin to others telling you what someone is like rather than you seeing it yourself.
Personally I love that David doesn't fit into their idea of what they think he should be like. To me that says he's not afraid to be himself and his self-awareness is a lot more appealing to me than the likes of Lisa who berates others for exhibiting the personality traits she possesses herself. Seeing them all target him just wants me to see him stay more and hopefully we'll see more from him tonight.

To be fair, at this point, what else can people vote on? If they are only getting snippets, they can only vote based on those. If they get no snippets, there is no incentive to vote for the person at all. So, he's in a lose/lose situation with the public, in terms of voting.
I too love that David doesn't fit in. However, I'm big on personally responsibility. So, I don't think it's a huge coincidence that people said the same things about him. David voted for Dion because he only talked about Crossfit. Because we didn't see it, we had to take his and other people's word for it. So, now I have to take the word of many housemates that he seems to only talk strategy, and that is his fault. I don't think anyone is denying that it's wrong, but the major thing I've gotten is, he doesn't seem to have real non game conversation. Now, had Lisa said it, I would have dismissed the comment. But, because more than one person said it, I tend to believe it's true. So, if Dion got voted by his housemates, for being obsessed with one thing, some were at least consistent in their voting for David, for the same reason. I guess I don't see it as everyone ganging up on him. This week, I think he has to own some of it. Just as Skye and Travis have to own how immature they are.
I hope he gets airtime that allows people to see his personality and they vote, but if he stays, I hope he realizes he needs to switch his strategy up and not be so forthcoming with all he is thinking. At this point, it will be up to the editors, and if people see enough to care one way or the other.

I genuinely think the Cat vote was a fluke. I don't expect to see that happen twice, ESPECIALLY since we've gotten more clips about her wanting a taken man. She, Dion and Katie were in the same boat, But, this week she's up against much stiffer competition.

agree with Tanique. Just now watching the noms and although I like David a lot there must be truth to it. Now it all depends on the producers and David. If he is hardly being aired he will be a goner. I am getting annoyed cause it is apparent that we do not get to see a ot of the things we hear about. Apparently Sky has a lot of tantrums. I am sure that we will get to see the real Sky later. Now they want to keep her in cause she has a lot of young girl voting for her.

Eta: and yes David has the most gorgeous eyes.:)

That REALLY bothers me, about Skye. They clearly don't want to show anything she does, that is negative, because they want to keep her in. It is very clear she a lot of bratty, bad acting, moments and we only ever hear about them.

I'm hoping he becomes mates with Leo. Leo seems like a meat head but he's into meditation, spirituality etc. so I think him and David will enjoy chatting about things other than sport and working out.

I didn't see the first 20 minutes of tonight's episode (partly because I was watching the Bachelor and partly because I couldn't work out it was on GO lol) but I didn't even see David on screen for the parts I did see. Was this the case for the entire episode? Because invisible edits are never a good thing :(

They didn't show much of Dave tonight. I'm a little worried for him.
Might put some extra votes in I think.
The only time we saw him was when he was in the diary room andi so agreed that some of the hm's are just cowards. It infuriates me that he asks hm's to tell him if they have problems with him. He doesn't actually bite either or get defensive. I wish it was like the old times when you nominated bb would ask you whether you have spoken about the issues you have with that hm. I still think half the hm's used David as a cop out

David is a gem. He's funny - to me, his "famous" 'it's exercise, not a magic wand' comment would have left me rolling; he's dry, dry, dry. Calls it like he sees it.

I'm just sad he's in the house with a bunch of f'wits; he may have shined against Tim -- a dry wit against a wet wit; man that would've been fun. I'm just sorry for the bloke he's been cast in the wrong season.

I think it's interesting that everyone nomd Dave for strategy... They are so petrified of it... Thanks @timdormer you scared everyone #BBAU

@gemma6foot6 @timdormer I love the fact they hate him for playing the game - that's what this is right? I hate the fact they hate him.

@gemma6foot6 @timdormer I am David's sister and he loves the stragetic side of BB. I just hope the public like what he is doing and save him

@mjkennedy78 that's cool... In the house he's just to obvious about it... And it puts people off

The main problem is that to talk strategy people have to like and trust you. Their walls are up on him before he even opens his mouth. David may be better off using some reverse psychology on these num-nuts, rather than "talking strategy" per se. He needs to get them "scared" of each other. Easier said than done. David needs the power, or something to break up the group. C'mon Big Brother, bring it! Another grab at a decent chunk of money might do it.

Yeah see

Yeah I had this thought about him as well. He talks the way they speak with their friends, but he doesn't have the friendship pass to be allowed to talk like that. I think some of the groups think they have a special bond/group and so for permission to speak like this. With Dave, they don't allow him in. So he isn't allowed to speak like this.

yeah true and look at their faces when they are allowed to talk strategic in the power room/treehouse etc...they are lapping it up but only if you're invited as part of that cool group, which is getting bigger each week.

Don't forget a couple weeks back when Sam and Sandra said something like David thinks everyone likes him, he's so naive...

Can I just say, the treehouse sucks. There is too much open jibber jabber this season. There should be more focus on gut instinct, reading people, and playing people than allowing huge bitch fests in the treehouse.

The "uncools" (which I think are actually the coolest people) need to start working together. I'm talking Priya, Jason, David and Skye. I can't foresee Leo ingratiating himself into the Lawson/Ryan/Sam group so he is a potential, and maybe even an infiltrator.
