David Appreciation Thread

Unfortunately there appears to be a character limit:

I would like to thank you for apologising for the racism on the part of David’s friends. I would, however, also like an apology for your other behaviour witnessed on SM and elsewhere. A public one on social media would be nice (including a criticism of racism would be nice), I’ll see if Bhushan could do also. I would also like to apologise that I expressed my malcontent in this thread, after my original post, however I was enraged that a person would take a swipe at me when I see them condone other horrible before – a sentiment to which I am sure you can relate.

I have noticed in the past few days that you have in fact been much more respectful, and I thank you for that. It is the fans, including me, who have exacerbated the falling moral standards here – mind you; I without doubt would say that I am one of the party’s latecomers and was prompted into it by the behaviour of others. So, if I have offended anyone, I wholeheartedly apologise.

I do not think that David is misogynistic or racist. He may be a little awkward, but he clearly does not share such views. I think people will clean up their act if they’re led to believe that others are doing likewise. Unfortunately, I believe previous comments you have made have led a lot of other people to follow suit with poor behaviour. Apart from the prior idiot tweenies and trolls on social media, I believe much of the poor behaviour began with you. I’m sure you and others will not agree with this. For my part, and in my opinion, this is the case. I think if both families made heartfelt genuine public apologise, the whole issue would die down a lot. I’d like to see that happen, I believe it should happen, and I’ll be disappointed if it doesn’t – I understand if you feel differently.

To take a leaf out of your book: To be honest all I want to do is enjoy watching housemates in the house and all the personal attacks on anyone are ruining the experience. Why people can't have a respectful opinion on what is seen is beyond me.

Everyone should be free to criticise and take digs at others. I do believe that people around here need to be respectful. I do believe, and I don’t think anyone could say otherwise (it’s in no way against equality, or freedom of speech – I’ve studied these under Australian ‘law’), that family members should be held to a higher moral standard.

Good luck to your brother tonight. I actually get the feeling we could see a shock eviction, but who knows. Whatever happens, I think out of respect that neither party should gloat about the others eviction in their Appreciation Threads or anywhere dedicated to supporting that Housemate.

I’d like to post my support for David here regularly, but having seen, prima facie, the behaviour of some people who post here – including you – I have had no desire to. Please realise I am not directly attacking you, all that I am asking is that you apologise for past actions and am grateful that you have at least deleted much of them.

tbh, I can't even remember who I voted for and didn't vote for... I blanked out when it came to it :redface:. lol. I felt like I was sitting an exam!

@lefrancais, I'm sorry, but you don't get to ask David's sister, melken, for an apology, like she owes you one... because quite frankly, she does not!

We all have had our rants and outbursts, some more than others, and more than often words are thrown. We are all in the same boat as well as David's sisters. except David's sisters will take things more personally given it is their direct relation. I don't care what has happened past or present, you asking for an apology is just ridiculous. Please, just leave it!

@lefrancais, I respect that you have an opinion and I thank you for expressing it. I have a problem with it though, I don't like that you have come into David's appreciation thread and publicly had a go at his sister. Not cool.

You had this to say about Bhushan: "I don’t blame him for making those comments. He stood by and watched you and your associates bully others, watched people make racist and hurtful comments about his wife. OF COURSE, he’s going to lash out eventually."

Isn't this very similar to @MelKen's position? They both have every right to "lash out" at insults being flung their way. If that was my brother, or spouse, or any family member in the house, I would be defending them to the end. Mel is obviously more emotionally invested in this, a million times more than you or I or anyone else. Personally, I think she is handling it well, considering the circumstances. She's entitled to have an outburst occasionally, I mean who wouldn't??

As I said, I respect your opinion, and I'm not hating on you at all. I would just prefer not to see Mel being told to make an apology for something she doesn't have to apologise for.

I'll leave it at that because this has ruined the good mood I was in. Good luck to both David and Priya tonight, without them both this year's already lame BB would have been even worse. Enjoy your day.
