David Appreciation Thread

Hi there. reading last page of Prya's thread it seems this was not a good episode for David but then again they do not want to see how she is always agreeing with everybody. e5002166.gif yes game tactics but not my favourite. It is quite sneaky just like Jason was also a bit sneaky. You can agree with everybody cause you hate confrontations, I do understand that but that is not the case with her.I always download my daily episode (ahum I wish it was bloody daily, just 4 eps a week crazy) through newsgroups but it is not up yet. To me it seems she never lets herself go. I still like her though but I prefer people who are not always so controlled and calculating.

That's where shitty name calling and commentary I read is so wrong because it paints a woman with a victim mentality. Oh poor bullied, downtrodden women. BULLSHIT. Women can and do stand up for themselves and that's what a man who actually DOES see them as equals expects. Yay to all the strong women in his life.

Ps I saw a lot of anti male sentiments flying around in the house. How is that better?

Exactly. THIS. If a male was giving it to me I'd give it back twice as hard. I wouldn't pull the "feminist" card, nor would I back down and cry like a sook. I'm female and I see no "misogynist " in David at all. Or any other male HM. It's bullshit. Everything is so PC these days. I grew up with two older brothers and no sisters, so maybe I'm different (tougher, thicker-skinned perhaps) to them, but the females of the house need to grow some balls tbh and stop whining. Not everyone is "sexist" for calling someone out on something and having a discussion.
 
I didnt think it was that bad of a edit for David tonight seemed more HM's were bitching becuase he'sa threat about him but didn't have much to back it up. looks like he could be on the outer again when Tom and Richard are evicted

I noticed Priya spotted the difference in Skye and Leo's behaviour after the fans entered the house..now that Skye thinks the public will be supporting for them as couple, she will try play along with it now for votes


not impressed with Ryan's loyalty with being upset thinking David put him up for eviction with his HOH power, when Daid wanted to save him, but maybe it's more Priya stirring the pot?
and Travis backstabbing David, after David ended up choosing him for HOH, and David was fair enough about his reasons why to BB.
David has never nominated Travis or Ryan

I think Lina is just a bit jealous that David finds Penny fun where Lina hasn't shown that fun side and is quite judgmental...maybe they will spend more time together to get to know one another but it's hard when she's siding with the girls.

maybe that tweet about Shelly was because David told Travis he wasn't upset when others left, when Travis asked him.
I'm sure he was disappointed at times but he wasn't a sobbing mess like some....
Sandra also said she wanted to go, so he wasn't so upset for her because she got what she wanted

David merely called a spade a spade, it struck a nerve and she had a little sook, then proceeded to sook to BB a little more.

All the Priya fans are hating on him now. They're all going on about how he said he's not upset that Sandra left. He isn't heartless, he's a realist. He said it's a game and they're down to the business end. He knows he will see Sandra again in two weeks. I think David's line of thought is, it's a game, there's no time to get upset about people who have left.

I don't know why he'd be hated on for not being upset when they were the same people saying he was stupid for hanging around her. Plus Priya is all game, I don't think she has any of their backs unless it benefits her game. I'm not hating for that at all, she knows what she's doing.. but I don't for a second believe she's sad others have gone either from about 5 seconds after they walked out the door and they were one less person to beat. Not that she doesnt like them she does. It's just the way it is. Kudos to the way she gathers people in though, it's a skill I respect, if not always emotionally respond to 100% of the time. I think the game is ramping up now.

One of the reasons I like David though is because he's not that way. He's blunt and honest and doesn't say the right thing all the time. Sometimes I wish he would watch Priya more with the subtle playing against each other, but then it wouldn't be him. That's why ultimately my votes go to Dave and always will.

It's possible that David can't see a best buddies type outside the house either...they do live different lifestyles but might hang out for beer and chat sometimes
David is aware of some things Ryan had said in the past, so he probably wouldn't be that surprised but maybe he thinks Ryan has moved on since then, and is a loyal friend in the game
 
I'm sorry, but priya is completely lying to herself if she thinks the way she talks is NOT belittling and does NOT come across as dominating / bossy.

I've always been friends with guys who wouldn't be scared to say the same things to me as they would to their male friends. I'm not thick skinned in the slightest to be honest but I know how to take a joke and to participate equally in a disagreement.

David even called her out on it the other week after the pool incident when they were in the kitchen talking one-on-one when she said she felt ganged up on. I can't remember the conversation 100% but he said something along the lines like "stop pointing your fingers at me when you talk to me".

I have two brothers and a lot of guy friends and when they say out of line things to me, most of the time they don't realise and they have no idea why i'm upset.

She even comes across in that tone when speaking to Big Brother. She is seriously in denial about the way her manner is perceived by others. You'd think she was a teacher of 20 years standing the way she talks, and you were questioning her authority. The woman is 27 years old. She is an inexperienced teacher at best.

and when one does shes a bitch, or a ballbreaker, on the rag, etc.
we have seen this repeatedly used against ppl like skye and lisa.
the reality is that people generally have no tolerance for women that 'give it back twice as hard'.
