Classic BBAU 2002 stream this weekend on official Big Brother YouTube channel (Aug 8-10)

The 1st live eviction has just finished (approx. 5 mins ago). Damian was evicted and at the end he was dancing with his dad to Aneiki‘s live performance of “15 Minutes”. 226 people are watching right now.

Aneiki were moderately successful here in Australia. Their most well-known single was their first, “Pleased To Meet You”. The duo worked with and were signed to Daniel Jones’ (One half of Savage Garden) record label. If you followed the Australian charts and watched 10’s Video Hits you probably would have heard about them.

This is the first glimpse I’m seeing from these new batch of digisited episodes. It’s not even of the HMs, the house or Gretel - and yet, just seeing a screenshot from a 2002 ep in HQ widescreen makes me wildly happy.

Never thought we’d see the day.

This marathon is going to take forever. Over nine hours in and not even up to the second eviction yet.

All the extra shows (ie newly introduced Nomination live specials) are probably going to make this run until late Sunday night.

Oh man Aneiki’s ‘Pleased To Meet You’ was a bop and a half imo, they were a Brisbane band iirc. It was a guy and a girl duo kinda like Bachelor Girl. They only had the one album and a handful of singles to their name (‘Superhero’ was another one I recall). Like I said in the previous thread, I loved this era of Australian pop music.

Killing Heidi performed live in the house later on this series, they were a bit more remembered from this time with their debut album ‘Reflector’ winning Album of the year at the ARIA Awards in 2000 and songs like ‘Weir’ and ‘Mascara’. Later their song ‘I Am’ was on the Australian edition of the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack in 2004 and the leading single from it promoting the movie here.

Might be worth flagging it in the chat so they’re aware for when they upload the individual episode.

Definitely an unfinished cut. Must have had another tape that was used during broadcast. I wonder if this applies to all the eps on this particular tape.

Exactly why I think live-streaming anything after 2004 is gonna get…interesting.
