Okayyyyy Finally im pretty much caught up just in time for the Finale (although I did do a bit more of skimwatching a couple of this weeks eps to get there in time).
The whole Jojo and Chris thing is intriguing, Hopefully their exit interviews get some good questions to at least get a little more clarity about it, because you can see how it might come across one way in some of their scenes and blurring the lines between a very tactile friendship or something else (like when Chris chose Jack over Jojo to share the Chinese takeaway and compared it to choosing their mate over their girlfriend, and again later when they were discussing Jojo having kids and Chris jokingly raised the idea of becoming their donor).
But then OTOH when Jojo was discussing her internal struggles about labelling to the others Idk it still felt vague and perhaps like she was talking about gender and identifying as non binary and being afraid to be seen as putting it on like a fashion as opposed to questioning her sexuality (although she did say it was about her sexuality when the rule break was announced by BB to the others) if she might be Bi/fluid whatever in relation to anything going on with Chris potentially.
I have seen some mentions and clickbait articles where theyre quoting her explicity putting it like she dosent identify as a lesbian anymore and aligns more with 'queer' which could still be talking about being non binary gender wise IYKWIM, if shes no longer 'female' then technically not a lesbian, but one of those things where like she said she was afraid of jumping into a label then alienating people if she feels differently about it later and getting too deep overthinking it. it's interesting also if theyre completely aware of how it looks to the outside, even if its just the Daley/Ella observation of their friendship conveniently sucking up airtime and angling to boost their fanbase IYKWIM. Anyways we'll see what happens.
ITA with those that Donna has had some funny moments (I Loled when she was telling Jack she Shit herself after the chili eating, but specifying it was in the toilet not her pants) but she hasn't really been at the forefront as much compared to some of the others so It'll be interesting to see where she ends up in the placing. I also think Danny could be a contender. I'll do a few more recap points later but Onto the Finale!

Mixed feelings about the winner. I like them but on the other hand an ITV star conveniently winning an ITV produced show? Not sure how to feel about that. I think I would have preferred the other finalist to win. Ah well, at least it wasn't Chris or Jo Jo. Nothing against either one, but I didn't want either to win.
For completeness sake the final results:
The usual issues with the final only being 90 minutes with 6 housemates left - were at least three HMs too many in this series. Even if they'd just extended the show through to Sunday so tonight was another eviction night it would have ran much smoother.
Overall though really enjoyed the series - the best celeb series since 2006 IMO and easily the best ITV series. Other than the initial issues with Mickey just a cast that was generally likeable and got on with each other. It's the underlying tension amongst a group that generally gets on which is much more interesting than when someone is an out and out hate figure.
I do think it would be better if ITV launched the main series straight off the back of the celeb version now to capitalise on the momentum built up and air it in a more traditional Spring slot rather than leave it till the autumn.
6th: Chris
5th: Chesney
4th: Donna
3rd: JoJo
2nd: Danny
1st: Jack

I’ve seen people say “if Jack wins it’s a fix because he’s an ITV hire” but I’ve also seen “if Danny wins it’s a fix because he’s part of the L&L extended family”.
If Colson had also won last year, I would think that maybe there would be a bit more credence to the theory, but the winner is always going to have their own fan base or following - just because the show is on ITV, it can’t be helped that Jack’s show is also on the same channel. And similarly, he shouldn’t not win just because he’s also in a show on itv.
Overall that’s my favourite series on itv complete, and definitely be favourite series since the C4 era. Hopefully the show will remember this when it returns later this year.

Wahoo!
I don't remember the last time we had a BBUK finale without people banging on about it being fixed - just because the person they wanted to win didn't.I’ve seen people say “if Jack wins it’s a fix because he’s an ITV hire” but I’ve also seen “if Danny wins it’s a fix because he’s part of the L&L extended family”.
There is never anything of substance to the claims and is just some idiot adding two and two together and coming up with an answer of "banana".
Exactly. Ultimately Jack was a non-problematic housemate who may not have been the most interesting but he was very relateable and had a sarcastic approach to life which you either got or you didn't.
Ultimately too he's one of the most familar stars in the show - been on ITV's biggest show for over 25 years and is arguably one of their biggest stars now, certainly outside of the old guard, playing a character that has always been liked every since he was a kid.

Hard to know how to judge this series ratings wise - is the highest rated since 2016 but also the final was only ITV's 7th highest rated show of the day. With the main series already recommissioned and this one critically well received it woukd be a surprise if CBB didn't return next year.

Yeah I thought that was a bit of a surprise win, Jack sounded familar at the start but then again could also be one of those familiar sounding names like John Smith or smth iykwim haha He's mainly known for that long running Coronation Street role. In an Ironic way his non chalantness in some scenes was kinda amusing in a way.
This was a fun series amidst some of the dabbles of controversy (and yeah well it looks like we got some answers with Jojo's partner being dropped if thats anything to go by, although it shall remain to be seen if anything actually happens with Chris and Jojo or they just remain close friends I guess).
Some of the tasks were funny, like Danny in the Family task was lol, the cats task was wacky, Pirates too and his interview was funny as well. The slight tweaks to the house layout worked well IMO too, lets see if they do anything further with it when BB22 starts.
