Big Brother US 2015: #BBTakeover premieres Jun 24th

Julie's a great host if what is required is a talentless robotic teleprompter reader with little personality to add to the show and only has the position in the first place as a present from her husband Les Moonves who runs CBS.

And the Battle of the Block is a ridiculous twist which played a large part in ruining last seasons big brother as everyone was trying to throw it anyway and it favored large alliances . How it will play out this year with a far superior and game savvy cast is yet to be determined but it was never as described...a fan favorite. Its sort of Big Brothers version of Survivors Redemption Island which was despised by the core viewership.

Really living up to your screen name with that post...

Actually the opposite is true. My expressed opinions would undoubtedly reflect those of the majority of hardcore BBUS viewers if a poll were to be taken.

But hey...if you think that the BOTB was a great addition to the BBUS twist arsenal, despite helping to create the worst season of Big Brother anytime anywhere and think that Julie Chen is a truly AMAZING talent and would actually be gracing television screens anywhere on any show if she was not married to the CBS head honcho then you are entitled to your vast minority opinion.

Once again proving that you really are a blow hard...

lol. Julie is a horrible host and is in the same rank as Sonia. They're both completely reliant on a script/autocue and inject absolutely zero personality into their role.
Disagree. Julie found her personality in about 2008 and has slowly but surely been learning how to use it.

Episode 3 was as flat as the premiere IMO - just no spark in the series yet, though knowing what happens next it's got a chance of kicking into gear.

Can't remember if it was here or somewhere else I saw it suggested but it would be interesting to see how the simple tweak of Julie not revealing the number of votes when the evictee is revealed affected the vote each week and wherther it would stop people "voting with the house".

Episode 3 was as flat as the premiere

I sympathize... However I don't think it's this particular series itself that is falling flat... It's more to do with the fact that this is the same show produced exactly the same way for the last 14 years... The twists as I've said previously really aren't all that bad... In that respect they really are showing maturity... We would have never seen something like BotB or BBTakeover 4 or 5 years ago...

Like I said it's production that is falling flat... There really hasn't been much of an attempt to bring the production of the show forward... Watch any BB premier aside from BB1 (which SHOULD be obvious) and you're going to see exactly the same thing... Even basic highlight episodes structure is exactly the same... The only change is "new" HG's... You can pretty much predict exactly when and where competitions are going to pop up and what type of comp it's going to be... It's the same typical narration, the same typical cast, and the same typical story... I mean the first HoH has been an endurance/physical competition every season since BB4...

You can also tell the cast have been coached to death on just about everything imaginable... It makes for extremely predictable strategy and scripted predictable narrations... These are NEW HG's and they should be allowed to navigate this "game" themselves... Part of the reason why I enjoyed early series was due to the fact that we saw strategies develop and the HG's figuring out how to use the "tools" of the game to their own advantage...They weren't working towards playing like someone else like they are now...

There also really isn't a need for a two night premier... Why can't all the HG's can move in on the same night??? If the premier is still going to sit at the one hour mark, cramming in two HoH comps might be a bit much... But is it really that hard to think up a single competition that will produce two winners??? I mean All-Stars had two HoH's in the first week and didn't need two competitions...

Night two of the premier was essentially just a repeat... The content they aired over the two nights was also spread way too thin... They might as well move to more of a live premier if this is the format they are going to stick with... The first real story from the house wasn't shown until Sunday anyways... It seems rather pointless moving HG's in 5 days before the premier if all they are covering in the first two episode is the first "48" hours... I'm pretty sure that one of the main reason BBUS always had HG's move in early was to help build the story ahead of the premier... However the way it's set up now it should be just as easy to build things up without the massive gap... I still don't understand why they just can't get the premier over with and jump right in to building a basic story for the first week???

Pretty much agree with all of that, though they have changed the premiere intro slightly in the last couple of years. I pretty much know the "It's a house like no other, where 50+ cameras record their every move, 60+ microphones listen to their every word." intro word for word.

The houseguests all moved in on day 1 (as last year), which makes the premiere being over two nights even more annoying. Would be better at least to have the first HGs move in and play HoH during show one, and then have that show end with the second batch of HGs. The second show could then have been the Takeover, the second HoH comp and got right through to the first nominations, with Battle of the Block and another challenge then in the Sunday episode.

Indeed one thing I don't like about the Battle of the Block/Veto structure is that half the house spends most the week sitting on the sidelines, only able to play in the HoH comp. They could do with either keeping the Have Not comps or adding a luxury comp to one of the episodes each week just to keep everyone involved - BB Canada tended to add an extra comp per show, so it's perfectly possible to do it in the timeframe. In the early years too they usually had a luxury comp in the Veto episode as well.

so have you guys heard what's been happening? I'm excited for tomorrow's episode as it seems like one of the most interesting starts to any big brother, and the best part is its completely natural

Most of it will play out in Thursdays eviction episode as tomorrows will end with the Veto meeting, the event which kick-started this season it seems.

The alliance chart is already looking rather messy:

Pretty good seriesmsomfar. Johnny Mack sounds like he learnt to speak from a drunk Bobcat Goldthwaite, but I like the game he's playing. Audrey is like Devon from last year, but for some reason she's still there, and not even a target of the HoH. Dayvonne seems to be a target, because of her dreadful personality, but really, is she a threat to win? Meg is way more dangerous, because everyone likes her. Why not send these nice people home early, and stay with people you know you could beat.

This series just not firing for me this year - just all a bit flat with nobody to get behind really and nobody to particularly hate. Audrey really is playing an awful game though - makes Devin look like the best gameplayer in the shows history.

I think the reason Audrey's still around is because secretly, nobody wants to vote out the first transgender to play the game. They'll get her out eventually, but Lady Day has a huge target on her back.

It's also never in a HoH's interests to nominate someone everyone wants out the week you are immune.

More interestingly:
They've figured out the twins.

And the 7th call was answered by:
Da'vonne. Really hope she can use it to flip the vote.

I don't watch the Live Feeds or BBAD. So does this mean I'll have to wait until tonight to see the Takeover result?

I think this is why we need a daily show. The game moves so quickly in real life that there are numerous days that get edited out.

It's fine as it is - means the highlights really are the "highlights". If you want more you get the feeds. Would much rather have 3 shows a week + live feed than shows every days and no feed.

Spoilers.

So, Austin's mo e to save his ally Liz was pretty slick. Hemgot Ken and Barbie thinking they can work with him. He probably made Liz more of an ally - as she was messin' 'round, messin' round town with other alliances. And since the twin thing is suspected, maybe Day could have actually rallied a recovery, especially with the Time bomb she won.

But, is Liz worth it? Did he make himself look like more of a player?

It was a well orchestrated save, and Meg target, but if his lie is exposed, will he end up in Audrey's position.
