Big Brother UK season 15 - SPOILERS

Oh dear, a man leaving the toilet seat up. How terrible. A nomination worthy event. Can someone explain why men should put it down when they're finished? Are women completely helpless? :arghh: I thought since the 1970s and women's lib things like this and opening doors for women etc were all old hat?

(apologies I am a couple of days behind)

Because women do not want to touch the toilet seat if they don't have to. If a man puts it up to piss they can put it down again. I would 100% nominate somebody if they had bad toilet etiquette.

For me I hate whenever someone leaves the toilet seat up whether it be a male or female. It's a hygiene thing. If you flush the toilet while the toilet seat is up, bad bacteria and germs actually fly up the bowl and you breath in this. While if it's down while you flush you don't have these germs to fly up at you. I read about this a few years ago and ever since always put the seat down and don't like it when anyone else does.

Why should a man have to touch it either, they might not want to...? Ergo, women should always leave it up for them? Why are women special cases?

Why should a man have to touch it either, they might not want to...? because for some reason men can't aim and have to have the seat up to piss, if a man could piss with the seat down and not hit it everyone would be happy, but for some reason they can't aim and therefore have to lift the seat.

You miss my point. If men use it they should lift it so they don't make a mess. If women use it they should put it down. Noone should have to pander to anyone else as we're all equal. Everyone should just leave it in whatever hell the position it was when they were finished.

Why should a women have to put it down if they did not lift it that is my point. Obviously we have different view on this very hot topic and we'll never agree.

If you look at my reply earlier... This will answer everything... Everyone should close all lids once finished and all should lift lids to their desired level before they start. This is a hygiene thing.

Yeah but we were talking about the seat not the lid. In your scenario everyone has to open the bloody thing every single time! Plus there's always that horrible suspicion that you might find something lurking in there when you open it. I hate that.

It was also so refreshing to see the house so happy and having fun together for a change. :)
I agree. About time.

I do love the fact that we get to see the more adult conversations etc but I was feeling like it was all bitchiness and quite a depressing house. Good to see they are capable of having fun together.

they had kimberleys boyfriend call in during bots he claimed they have been together for three years

don't you just flush and walk away? :conf:

because women don't mess around with the toilet seat - its down (hopefully) when we arrive on the scene and it stays that way ...
if a guy has to lift the seat up why can he not put it down again?

however I think the complains with Winston haven't JUST been toilet seat up/down issues - he seems to have a problem with aim and a problem with ownership

surely one day we'll get a set of housemates who act like adults and realise You Make The Mess = You Clean Up After Yourselves

maybe they need a "YOUR MOTHER DOESN'T LIVE HERE" sign OR maybe Winston could be given a new 'free pass' to the end of the season with a twist (is there any other flavour? ;) ) - his pass puts him in charge of cleaning all toilets and bathrooms til the end of the season and if they don't pass inspection each week he is automatically up for eviction. He could maybe nominate one other housemate to be on duty each week with him - but it has to be rotated - no one HM gets chosen within the same 4 week period ... any slacking off by Winston (making the other HM do all the work) and he's up for nomination ...

I have a mean streak a mile wide ;)

Another fantastic episode!!

Here are my thoughts:
  • Mark is hilarious! I'm loving him more and more, him reacting to the hairdryers not going to be on! Hhaha! So funny.
  • There are more divisions happening!
  • I really really despise Ash now! He is Helen's little lover henchman
  • The shopping task is alright...nothing special. The reveal of the nominations was good, except they cut out when Winston nominated Marlon (wonder why they cut it from the highlights show?)
  • Ash calling Jale a maggot....Get lost Ash! You remind me of those loser pretty boys who think they are top dog. Well guess what, you are not!
  • The truth or dare game...wow! I hate you Helen!!!! Loved that matthew stood up to her, and mark stood up for the truth! I hated how Ash kept siding with Helen he irks me so much!
  • I really really want Ash gone this week! Toya is so much better then this stupid person, no matter how good you think he looks...
