Yeah, I would say it is Season 12 as the Channel Seven seasons were only “Big Brother” in name. Now it is back LIVE and in the original format. It is like Channel 7's seasons didn't even exist!
Coming soon: BBAU Season 12 on Channel 10![]()

As it already had a 10 BBAU eye pfp, it's safe to assume it's in 10's hands.Wonder if it was 7 or 10 who went on the mass delete spree. Feels like something 7 would do to be petty - "we'll give you the socials back but not the content".

To me this indicates that the January slot is best for IACGMOOHDoes it though?
Aired Q2 March–April
2023 averaged 820,000 (Consolidated Total TV 7 Days, rounded to the nearest 10,000)
2024 averaged 830,000
Aired Q1 January–February
2025 averaged 750,000
I keep spreadsheets used to measure and compare each reality series that I watch, and I can say with absoluteness that this is not true. The numbers clearly indicate that the show performed better when it was airing into Q2. In fact, after returning to the Q1 slot this year, the show ended up 10% down on last year's series which, funnily enough, was the show's best numbers in a while.
Survivor is up against MAFS and still managed over 800,000 viewers. Meanwhile, MasterChef is so far averaging 760,000 (down 5% on 2024's 820,000). MasterChef could handily match Survivor's numbers against MAFS. It's probably TEN's only other offering that would still survive against Nine's Q1 juggernaut, which could result in future seasons rating higher than what it is now.
Survivor is about to air in Q3, and I would guess it will match, if not beat, what it currently does and the 2023 season still managed 900,000+ even against MAFS. Who's to say Survivor couldn't reach the 1,000,000 mark even just once when away from MAFS? It was on the increase from 2017 onwards, with the 2019 season averaging 840,000, and in my opinion, that figure could be even greater with the new OzTAM measurement in Q3.
I would argue that when looking at these numbers, it is clear that both MasterChef and Survivor could thrive — and potentially do even better with a schedule change. Survivor has been proven to do well in Q1, but was doing just as well, if not slightly better, when it was airing in Q3. Seasons 1–4 & 6 aired in Q3 away from MAFS and altogether averaged 768,000, whilst All Stars, which aired in Q1 against MAFS, is the second-lowest rating season at 733,000.
Thus, this statement is also incorrect...
MasterChef also has a lot of potential gain going up against MAFS and could even do with being cut down to eight weeks as well. I'm a Celeb could follow and do well, as it has before, in Q2, and Big Brother could either precede a Survivor season or be sandwiched between two Survivor seasons if TEN really wanted to. They could even close the year with Celebrity Big Brother or some alternate spin-off show. I too used to think MasterChef should be locked into Q2, but this year's ratings do not really do the claim much justice.
Here are some sources where you can verify the data that my attached spreadsheets display:

Now here’s Masterchefs ratings which had a January slot - factors to take into consideration… 1. It’s not a normal season. 2. MAFS wasn’t on, 2 years later it premiered on 9.Survivor is up against MAFS and still managed over 800,000 viewers. Meanwhile, MasterChef is so far averaging 760,000 (down 5% on 2024's 820,000). I still stand by my statement, that survivor could change quarters as the ratings doesn’t change that much.. yes in July it rated the highest. Thus, this statement is also incorrect...

Sorry but I cannot take anything you say seriously. It's redundant to directly compare ratings pre 2022 when looking at ratings for 2023-2025. My post obviously implied that...To me this indicates that the January slot is best for IACGMOOH
I proved your point wrong with black and white data.
886,000 without voz added would be a great number for ten now....... You just further prove my point by stating it wasn't a regular season... its cute to see you try thoNow here’s Masterchefs ratings which had a January slot - factors to take into consideration… 1. It’s not a normal season. 2. MAFS wasn’t on, 2 years later it premiered on 9.
you say in July it rates highest yet also state it doesnt change based on the quarter it airs... amazing oxymoronic reply buddy! Your initial post never had the words "that much" in the claim, too late for that now.I still stand by my statement, that survivor could change quarters as the ratings doesn’t change that much.. yes in July it rated the highest.
It's great to see you use the references I provided! But for someone who likes to come across as a reality Tv expert you seem to have failed to realise that the overnight ratings that are listed on the wikipidea pages do not all reflect the inclusion of Oztam's new measurment. The differences of course can be noted when looking at my spreadsheets vs the wikipidea list.
Your countdown was wrong, your insider knowledge was wrong and you are wrong here. We are still waiting for your many guarentees to be proven right and yet you come up short every single time!
It's time to go..... @BBAU25

Well with the news of survivor launching on August 17th that likely means Amazing race could in theory launch maybe the week of September 8th for a six week run presumably?
Big brother really is getting stretched for time now

There hasn’t been any activity on the admin side, since March this year thoughThat's been like that since they deleted the 7 era content from Instagram.
I wonder if they might be hedging their bets a bit just incase they realise what has seemingly been inevitable and that Big Brother won't be ready to air this year.Well with the news of survivor launching on August 17th that likely means Amazing race could in theory launch maybe the week of September 8th for a six week run presumably?

They're probably more likely to pad out Survivor at 2 eps a week than Amazing Race, but if they get to the end of September and it's clear BB won't be ready in a month they can run Amazing Race at a slower rate instead.
Via MediaSpy the Herald Sun has a report on casting. Can't help but feel 10 need to take their own advise and take their time with Big Brother and not rush it in order to ensure they get across the essence of what the show really is and what makes it unique and exciting - and also look to produce something that is authentic rather than overly polished.
The wording there doesn't really imply they're in a hurry. Maybe if they really want to launch it in 2025 they should launch it on New Years Eve - technically they make it then. Would give them something to put in Uplate on the first night too.
Ten is readying for a rush of applicants when casting opens in the coming weeks.
“With Big Brother, when casting gets underway, I would say take your time with your application,” (Sarah Thornton, head of unscripted for Channel 10) said.
“Don’t rush it, show the essence of who you are and what it is that makes you unique and exciting to us. What we’re not looking for is a perfectly produced video (application). We’d be happy with something very amateur provided it’s authentic. In some ways the more polished it is, the harder it is for us to see you.”
Thornton said 10’s reboot of Big Brother would take the show back to its foundations.
“We are really aiming to cast it in the salt-of-the-earth kind of way that the original Australian series was cast. We are looking for people from all walks of life that bring slices of Australia to us as viewers.”
