Big Brother back in 2025 on 10! AND LIVE!

They’d essentially have to do at least two evictions per week for the entire series to feel somewhat complete and even then at 4 weeks we’d have virtually no time to get to know the HM’s.

Also hoping they expand for future series isn’t ideal… I can almost guarantee they’ll never get the series anywhere near where it should be. Decent ratings will pretty much confirm whatever misguided belief 10 have about the series that led to this decision. Bad ratings will simply confirm the idea that BB is a dead format in Australia without looking at why the series actually failed.

Whilst I'd prefer a half-week cycle with nominations and evictions in each I think a double eviction each week is probably neater, and more cost effective if they're having a live audience. Perhaps if they keep it to 12 HMs rather than have the 16 BBUK has it's not so bad doing weekly evictions. If it's 6 weeks you can have 4 singles and a double over the first 5 weeks then in the final weekend (which I imagine would be over Sunday/Monday) have a double on the Sunday (as a result of nominations), then 4 in the final.

or they could do it how Australian Idol does it now (and indeed how the first half of the very first season back in 2003 did in the finals because they were running out of time to fit in before end of ratings) which was every week is a double eviction (12-10-8-6), then the semi final cuts from 6 to 3 for the Finale. Thats over about a 6-8ish week period (if you count the Final 12 selection week or two as well).

On another note, I am a bit concerned about how sensitive people can be these days. I worry that it's going to take ONE minor, controversial interaction, and people will be up in arms, demanding the show be cancelled.
This is going to be an issue 100%
It will be a disaster if Channel 10 turn it into a “Woke” show.

If C10 progress with a short series in 2025, they'll be going all out on making the show a success so advertisers get on board for a longer run in 2026.
This is my thinking. Advertisers are going to be quite wary considering how low ratings were for the last season on Seven.

Hell, in the last season they lost KFC as a sponsor and they were desperate enought that they accepted a sponsorship deal with a sex toy website.

It will be more of an event being live but from an advertiser point of view airing it at the same point of the year it flopped spectacularly last time out really will limit it's appeal, and traditionally any show not starting until November is generally seen as a show the network doesn't have much faith in.

Another thing to note is that Daylight Savings will be in effect at the time of BB airing. QLD doesn't recognise it. Back last time on Ten, it always aired in April/May when DS wasn't in effect.

It's not a big issue (though quite annoying) but it would be the same as what Nine did, which I can't for the life of me remember. Did they start filming live shows at 6:30pm? So it aired 7:30pm in NSW, etc?

I need to spend some time checking my VPNs etc to make sure I'll be able to watch 10 live. They were locked down pretty tight last time I tried but it's been a while.

More accessible than ever, across all screens and platforms with TV, BVOD, 24-hour live streaming on FAST and social media, Australians will be hooked watching every moment, six nights a week, plus live voting and evictions.

Interesting...
For anyone like me who didn't know what FAST was it is Free Ad supported Streaming TV

Hopefully with these options there should be something that the VPN's work with. I know I couldn't get Surfshark to work with channel 10 in recent weeks.

Australia’s OG reality TV show is back to its birthplace on Network 10 in Q4 and is set to sizzle in summer with boundless brand opportunities during the most important consumer spending time of the year.

Nothing will beat BB2014's plug of Ambi Pur where they cut to a shot of a Ambi Pur unit literally plugged into the wall of the task room for like seven seconds. Was the highlight of the season for me.

I freaking LOVE this artwork, also how they seem to be marketing the show as an EXPERIENCE, as well raw and unfiltered.

That said if it’s true they’re only putting out a 4 week series they’re missing out on really building the experience.
