Big Brother back in 2025 on 10! AND LIVE!

The Project has been axed (FINALLY) to be replaced with a new show in the coming months.. I wonder what that new show could be at a 7pm time slot 🙈🙈🙈
Another hour of news, by all accounts. A new news program. It was just announced on the 10 News Lunchtime program.

The rumour has been confirmed on TV Tonight, the Project is officially axed. Essentially whats happening is Deal or No Deal and the Project's replacement will be switching timeslots. 10 News 5PM-6PM, News show 6PM-7PM and then Deal or No Deal from 7PM. Unlikely to impact anything regarding Big Brother, its probably better for BB anyway tbh.

With I'm a Celeb now being prefilmed and now the Project being axed my head does wonder if channel ten are willing to put more money into BB compared to other shows, or if Ten are really just that poor. The latter is probably more correct.

I thought Deal would move as makes no sense to have it between two news programmes. Suspect by the end of the year the new show will be axed, the 5pm news extended to 90 minutes again and another gameshow joins Deal from 6.30pm.

I read a little while back that Ten were filming a local version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" Not sure if that's still going ahead, but the article said casting had already been completed. Maybe this could be from 6:30?

It’s a huge $20 million gamble this new show and investigative unit. 10 will stick with it either way, they don’t really have a back up plan. The gamble is also moving deal to 7pm up against home and away, which usually rates between 700-900k each night. Deal will need to find a new audience as it only rates 200-300k each night in its current time slot.. worst case scenario once neighbours finishes up they move it to an earlier time slot and best case scenario is we get reality at 7pm.

So which show will host the evictee for their cross-promotional "day/week after" press ala Rove / Today Show?

The Project would've been the natural fit for that. Maybe HYBPA? Feel like Cheap Seats would be too oversaturated given the Mel Tracina crossover.

Very interesting.
I would say QLD gov rebates would have come into it. I remember when the show left QLD and the hole it left in the local production industry.
Also the holdback must be close to ending/has ended if they are now posting job listings.

If they're following the ITV production, The most obvious location is the Roadshow Studios next to Movieworld if they're moving into a soundstage. Or there is the Brisbane Screen Queenland Studios (unsure of how big they are) right near the mouth of the Brisbane River.

Also 'Early November to Early December' we're probably looking like a 40-ish day run like the UK revival.

Yeah the project would have been an obvious pick as is done for Survivor Au evictees. The week's evicted housemate I would guess could likely be a guest quiz master on HYBPA as it is the only show on TEN right now to score 1,000,000+ average viewers. I agree having the evictee on the cheap seats would be a bit much, especially to any fans of the show who don't like Big Brother.

I anticipate BB+Deal or No Deal crossovers as well to some degree as well. Hopefully we see evictees on the Live Nominations show again but the Project would have made sense to help cross promote.

I am not liking reading more rumours that further suggest a 6 week run. But also interesting to see QLD pop up once again in the rumour mill.

It's a job listing. How's that a rumour? How exciting it's confirmed for QLD. Any guess where? I think we're off to Movieworld!

If they are planning on building the set not on a sound stage, I'm sure it won't be long before a development application is lodged with the relevant gold coast council for its construction.

If it really is coming back to QLD, then Sunday-Tuesday will be a big half week for Mel Tracina. 2 nights live in QLD and then back to Melbourne by lunch time Tuesday to film the cheap seats.

I mean she can probably just do a live cross from GC or Brisbane when they film. But, didn't Gretel live in Sydney? I can't remember if they moved her up here for the duration of BB or just flew her back and forth. But I'd say it would be the same for Mel.
