this did come to my mind as well. Survivor is said to be 11 episodes and TAR likely will be the standard 12 episodes or so. Even if both shows air over 2 nights a week separately, and if MasterChef is to be 13 weeks like last year, there is still a month sized gap between TAR and BB. What is TEN actually doing?!10 has Survivor: Australia V The World and The Amazing Race: Celebrity Edition after MasterChef finishes.
Mel says here that they don’t know any of the details yet. While they might have a rough idea of when they’d like to launch the show I’m doubtful they have a date picked just yet or at very least not one that they’d be announcing down to the second.
I'm taking that date with a grain of salt but if it was pushed back that late it would be better to hold it over until 2026. I think though although the date nay be wrong that's the closest to confirmation it's still on track for late-2025.Oh this is not good news IMO. Even if its going to air over christmas/new years there is only room for 8 weeks max until I'm a Celeb starts 2 months later. IDK I just doubt that its going to run that long, I fear we are seeing a 6 week season. This makes me real sad.
I wonder if there was some delay caused by the holdback? I hope this is a move either made by TEN through no other choice or if anything a way to ensure as many eyeballs are on Big Brother with no competition and the 2026 season is longer. I really don't like this news though, at least its happening this year I guess.
100% good point. They're certainly not going to be wanting to pay people to work over Christmas.
What do you reckon mate??In what context?
Yeah tbh I'm not too fully set on believing it until I see it confirmed by TEN outside of a graphic on a light entertainment program, Mel being confused did kind of make me think it wasn't to be fully believed. Still a month or two to go until we can expect the holdback to be fully over really.I'm taking that date with a grain of salt but if it was pushed back that late it would be better to hold it over until 2026. I think though although the date nay be wrong that's the closest to confirmation it's still on track for late-2025.
As previously discussed despite all the talk of a 52 week schedule there are various practical reasons they'd want to finish up by early December at the latest. They're certainly not going to be wanting to pay people to work over Christmas.
Is it possibly a rights issue and they cannot legally air it any earlier even if they wanted to?this did come to my mind as well. The only way MasterChef would lose its Q2 spot is if it bombed in ratings, probably for multiple series as well. There is no chance TEN fuck around with MasterChef for no reason. Is it likely we will be seeing BB in April/May next year instead?
Fair, I don't even watch it tbh, so I had no idea when it usually airsThe only way MasterChef would lose its Q2 spot is if it bombed in ratings, probably for multiple series as well. There is no chance TEN fuck around with MasterChef for no reason.
You're right, in the comments section David Knox confirms it was just a joke. Probably just a casual gag to remind viewers that BB is still happening.Personally I wouldn't read too much in to it as I have serious doubts about whether it was official.
Not BB.Spotted this in last Friday’s TV Tonight weekly newsletter.
