I remember rumours circulating about 7 looking at doing a live format depending on the success of the BBUK revival and that ten had shown interest in possibly getting the show back but I didn’t think it was going to happen so quickly. I had just assumed that the show was dead with no sign of return after the love island season

I suspect if it had been a Seven announcement even with live streaming it wouldn't have been anywhere near as well received.

I’m actually pretty excited for her to take the reins of hosting. I never particularly liked Sonia in the hosting position and found she never really brought anything to the role like Gretel did, she was very beige.

Just from watching her on the cheap seats her comedic timing is really impressive, I’m already thinking about how she’ll use that during post-eviction interviews on stage. I think her style is largely transferable to a live crowd, it’ll just take a season for her to really get the groove of it.

I'm late to the party! I can't believe I'm only finding out about this now! But the cheap seats brought me here. I'm so pumped for this! I grew up with the Ch10 days I remember having Up Late episodes on VHS tapes from 2007. I watched the Nine series. But the Ch7 format was really bad. I was not expecting this back so soon! Like so many others I feel like this is a dream! Bring it on!

That opening . It’s exactly how this show needs to be marketed. Get the millennials who will then get thier kids watching. Not family friendly but a show (with maybe a little bit of edge) that has a bit of something EVERYONE.

As for Uncut (they incorrectly referred to it as Uplate) it’s the ONLY thing Seven got right. Uncut in the modern era just needs to focus more on stuff that couldn’t make the daily show with the odd perv sprinkled in.

That said the press release says the show will be across all Network 10 platforms so there’s definitely more to it than just the daily/eviction/nominations shows.

In what capacity remains to be seen, but the fact they even approached Peter to record a voiceover for the Upfronts promo means whoever is working on this reboot absolutely knows their stuff!
