Big Brother back in 2025 on 10! AND LIVE!

A key attraction on the new Big Brother for Seven is Endemol Shine executive producer Amelia Fisk who is also the EP of Australian Survivor. “She has worked in the UK on Big Brother,” said Backwell. “She knows and loves the format. When Endemol Shine pitched the project she was attached to it. What we liked about her was her understanding of Big Brother, her love for the format and that she had made Survivor. She did a great job on Survivor which looked very slick. We wanted her to bring those production values to Big Brother along with her understanding of Big Brother and what the audience expect from the show. That was one of the reasons we decided to commission it.”

I hate to say it. But the British thing didn’t work in Australia… that’s why we need to keep it like the channel 10 days including the house set up. Amelia killed big brother, she didn’t know the Australian audience at all.

Correction the Canadian us format didn’t work.. not British.

What British thing?
She worked on 2 seasons of big brother uk. 04/5 and then she worked here on bb 06… The house was inspired from the uk series, channel 7 was looking at the success of the uk live version and they would’ve had the house/crowd next to each other.

Sorry my brain is thinking of different things, I’m mixing things up.

yip Endemol seem to want to take ownership of that decision for some oddball reason.... Here is another article

.... Big Brother is returning to ITV, and the BBC recommissioned Survivor and, outside our catalog, Gladiators. These are big, recognizable brands, but the audience does expect new iterations and creative renewal.

Superbrands have a strong identity and a format DNA, elements we have to consolidate, strengthen and ensure aren’t compromised. But every single territory, every single culture, has a different way of showcasing it. For example, Hunted on Channel 4 and Hunted on Prime VideoItaly are not the same show. And Endemol Shine Australia was the first to do the pre-recorded Big Brother—when everyone said it couldn’t be pre-recorded, highlighting the adaptability of the shows and their strength across the world. Perhaps that is why copycats never fare well….

Banijay is home to roughly 5,000 formats. Some of them may not work today, but some you go, “What does that look like in 2023?” That’s when it gets really interesting. The effort that goes into a creative renewal of these titles is as much as any new IP.

I still have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

I mean Endemol has ownership in the pre-recorded format in the sense of "Seven wanted to have a pre-recorded format, Endemol developed one and Seven accepted it." But there has never been a reason for Endemol to go them and say "hey, we want to do Big Brother again but really don't want to do it live anymore. Would you take it on?"

I also think that the comment you quoted was less about taking ownership of that decision and more like taking ownership of its success, e.g. "we're so good at making Big Brother, we even made a pre-recorded Big Brother work despite nobody thinking that would work".

And Endemol Shine Australia was the first to do the pre-recorded Big Brother

But this isn't even true. They've done a pre-recorded mini-series for some Chinese streaming platform which then had a weird live finale where the evicted housemates were suddenly back in the game and even getting evicted at the finale didn't mean that you were out for good.

A google search shows similar articles in Daily telegraph, gold coast bulletin, and Herald Sun. It is not exclusive to channel 7.
No one said it was.. I just simply said that 9 and 10 aren’t covering it. Now for the broadcast holder, you’d think they would write an article
