Some rumors are speculating an 82 day season in April, while another article speculates two separate 4 week seasons:

Another rumour doing the rounds is that Pete won't be returning as the main Big Brother voice.

This one feels plausible to me. If the Leon Murray controversy is to be believed, Pete was never intended to be the voice this year and it's possible he agreed to fill the role in the interim, as a favour of sorts, due to whatever broke down between Leon and the company at short notice. Plus, it's no secret that his role as BB never really hit the mark this year so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a mutual decision to move on.

Hopefully leon doesn't return. He wants to self promote which shouldn't be allowed. He did it a fair bit towards the end of the 9 era. Just bring in someone who isn't known. That's the mystery I love about big brother. Just who is it

50-60 days is the optimal number for next season. Not 80-100. 50-60 days gives a better idea as to whether the program can hold on to strong ratings in a season without going bananas. Do 80+ in 2027, but only if ratings hold up. This season isn't enough for me to believe that the show would do well running a 3 month season so soon.

Edit: As for two 30 day seasons in one year, that's an incredibly dumb idea. Doing an All-Stars or Celebrity season should only be considered once the show has done enough over 3-5 seasons to warrant such a special program. Focus on making the civilian seasons good first, then worry about doing extra stuff later. Right now, they haven't even done Step 1 correctly.

Hoping neither are true, I think 30 day seasons are too quick for fans to invest and they’ll lose interest if they are too frequent being twice an year and won’t take the seasons seriously. I’m personally not sure if I could go for an 80 day season, bit too long for me. 8 weeks is the sweet spot for me, i think.
I know a lot of people say people will invest if they want to, but I think there’s too many options these days of things to watch and do and there’s always something new coming out. I don’t think many people could do an 80 day season.

One thing I wonder is if a bit like the Seven deal for the first house (and possibly second) they might have a one year deal with Dreamworld so need to film both series within that period, though that's not a bad thing.

82 days certainly isn't happening - 80 perhaps if they stick to the traditional Saturday launch, Monday finale but realistically even an expanded show isn't getting close to 11 weeks.

I’d expect Dreamworld to accommodate most production needs. They’ve already done so with this series. The Gold Coaster’s maintenance window has been extended to accommodate Big Brother.

I think eight weeks would be optimal these days. Give or take a few days for the Sat/Mon thing.

Of these two rumours, I'd hope the shorter season rumour is the one that comes true. Four weeks of the 2025 season was more than enough - eight weeks would be painful. I don't have high hopes of such a radical change to how they do the show...

Wow that would be unbelievably stupid doing 2x this years instead of investing in a much better and longer season but nothing would surprise me anymore. As others have said I’m good with it extended to 8 weeks which gives enough time to do a couple of intruders half way and everything not be so rushed. I doubt they will suddenly have a massive budget to work with so I’d rather sacrifice a few weeks compared to the original BB seasons to improve other aspects of the show. I’ll believe it when I see it though. Honestly I was just expecting a repeat of this years with not many improvements.

Oh I agree entirely. They should only do eight weeks if they fix the format and cast better.
