The live feeds were always going to have a delay - and they always have. What matters is how much delay which is something we don't know. Is it 10 mins, an hour, 24 hours? no idea.

Same with censoring of the ive feeds, of course it will happen but to what extent is the question. The constant mention of defamation in the article is a bit worrying in my opinion as almost everything the contestants say about others or their life could be interpereted as defimation to an extent.

I see what you did there 🤣 But I mean that’s kind of how I’ve always seen the role of a BB presenter. In a way they’re an extension of us. Her knowing the good, bad, and the ugly (cough, cough 😷) is exactly what I’d expect.

Not exactly sure what she’s getting about Queensland but I think it’s about timezones? If the show is airing live from Queensland they won’t actually be able to watch it live because they’ll be an hour behind due to daylight savings. Could be wrong 😬

That's what I'm thinking, maybe the present will be they stream the show live on YouTube? I can't imagine 10 would move their TV schedule forward an hour? Unless they get rid of 10News+ 👀

BB03 (the Belinda incident) is a perfect example of why moderation on the live feeds is important. That was messy, and it would have be abused to no end with today's technology.

I always found the house boring once it got down to 6 or less. You might get the occasional TV-worthy moment, but it was otherwise a lot dead air. That's a real risk for them now with how audience engagement works. Give me a final 6 any day.
The feeds becoming less “entertaining” is one thing but the show itself doesn’t necessarily degrade that much?

Going back to my earlier point… When we had casts in the high teens and 20’s there were a lot of disposable HM’s but in this age where we’re not padding out 100 day series we should be getting an A-List lineup so the dwindling numbers shouldn’t matter.

"has put questions to 10 Executive Producer Sarah Thornton and host Mel Tracina."

Also at the risk of being wrong, Sarah looks to be the EP from 10, which means still room for an EP from Banijay/BB.

This is from the 2007 credits:

Chris Blackburn worked on all seasons, even the 9 era. Not sure about 7, though. So wouldnt suprise me if he returned.

Probably not YouTube. I could see them opening up a Queensland specific stream on the 10 app. She referred to the plan as a “Christmas present” so not sure they’d do it for every live show but it sounds like they definitely will for the finale.

I’m quite shocked that it sounds like time shifting isn’t a thing in Australia or at least not in the sense of how it works in North America.

I live in western Canada and most shows like BB air on Central time which is 2 hours ahead. If I wanted to watch live or the first broadcast all I have to do is add time shift to my cable package and I have access to whatever channel in the east. Queensland being neighbours with NSW I’m also shocked that more people don’t have access to a NSW 10 station.

Regardless Sarah would outrank the EP from ESS/Banijay anyways. Any of the key decisions would have to go through her, anyone else would really only oversee the day to day running of the show. If they helped develop the creative direction for this series it’s not happening if she didn’t say so. In other words he was talking to the best person to be answering those questions.

Something else that stood out to me from that interview was the use of language around their decision-making.

It sounded as though the team is open to adapting and making some choices as a consequence of others, rather than having a set plan in place. Not necessarily in a "making things up as we go" way, but in that they're adapting and evolving with the unpredictability of the show, and seeing what may or may not work and going from there, even long before the series has started. Again, that article sounds super promising on many levels...

I agree and let’s be honest this is exactly what every new era should be. On the same token if you don’t make mistakes you have nothing to improve. It’s this strategy that builds a long term sustainable brand and not just a one and done situation where they’re dragging their asses to fulfill their commitment as we’ve seen in the previous two eras.

I have to say but this pre-season has been such a roller coaster ride that I can’t wait to see if the show lives up to what I believe we collectively expect should be a pretty decent series. Perfect? Probably not but I do think there’s a sense that they will strive to “get it right” at some point.

It’s also been fantastic to see this place come to life again… We don’t always agree and we’re all not always as friendly as we probably should be but this is honestly the best BB community out there. So thank you 💙👁️

I agree. I think the fact they are going to “go with the flow” and see how it goes is the best option. It means they are going to let it organically run and see how it goes. I think that’s better than saying it’s 6 weeks and then we get to week 4 and all the housemates are boring as batshit.
I’m really impressed with this interview. The only thing that potentially concerns me, is that this is the first time the “Network” EP is the one that is leading the charge and speaking to media. Historically there’s been one from 10, but the network filters requests and changes to the show through the Endemol EP.
I just hope it’s not going to be the network that then turns around and says to 10, lets increase all eps to 90-120mins.
I mean I wouldn’t put it past them that it was 10 who wanted the logo changed.
Again this is me being cynical, and it’s quite likely this strategy work well considering what is riding on the show for the network. I can imagine if this all does do well, they will definitely invest more money into it next year. I don’t think there has been an advertising campaign this big since the launch of Masterchef?
I’m just a bit dubious about the network being so heavily involved as in the past it’s been the detriment of the show….

Shorter is better! Fans that want more BB can view the streams. Somewhat related though, the over the air tv guide is reporting that Mon & Tue have been extended to 75 minutes, an increase of five minutes. Online guides from what I see still report only 70.

IDK but this deeper version of the voice is preferable over the previous iteration. If it carries over to the show it gives me hope that they’re going to listen to critics make improvements where necessary.
Hopefully, even though I'm disappointed he is returning. Give it to someone else

I’m doubtful. It does seem like they’ve done their homework and going from “go with the flow” to something silly like that wouldn’t make sense.

The Network EP being the face of the show at this point I think is an extremely smart strategy considering what we’ve seen over the last two eras. At least from my perspective it’s giving the impression of a synergistic relationship between 10 and ESA.

No more Alex M’s saying they tried their best but their hands were tied by the network or the flip flopping over who’s at fault for this stupid decision or that like we had during the 7 era.

Here we have a clear through line straight to 10 and it sounds like they have a pretty clear strategy. And the way Sarah’s talking sounds like she’s on the ground helping to execute said strategy not in a boardroom somewhere looking at test shots, analyzing stats, or overthinking minute details. I think we’re in good hands.
