Big Brother 2025 starts November 9 (Sunday) on 10

Completely hypothetical scenario: Team 'OG' said no to a shorter season and campaigned internally to delay it to 2026 and do it properly. Someone else at 10 said no and gave the project to a new team who weren't nearly as much as OG superfans. Henceforth the branding change and other less than amazing decisions. Or maybe I'm way off the mark. Oh what a fly on the wall may have heard... 🤔

My theory is that somebody or multiple people are not trusting the OG format, getting cold feet and are now chickening out... the show got cancelled for a reason, it's 2025, not 2001 anymore, everyone around the world is doing it, yada yada whatever. So the presentation got updated etc.

I've seen it multiple times with several shows.. not just with Big Brother. But we kinda also saw it with ITV's version. While it didn't launch on C4 levels and had its issues, there was more than solid ground to build on. But then half way through, they suddenly panicked for whatever reasons, meddled with the show and continued to do so to this day.

Not gonna lie my expectations are low. I’d be fine with a BBUK copy if it was done properly. And yeah it’s obvious channel 10 doesn’t have much money, but the house looks rushed and cheap and like they are planning to rip it all down the second production wraps. Really hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

Fabulous article in today's Sydney Morning Herald. Includes rare photos in HQ from the show's heyday and new interviews with BB01's Blair McDonough & Sara-Marie Fedele, BB03's Reggie Sorensen, "incoming" EP Sarah Thornton and a secondary EP Jonathon Summerhayes who also worked on the show between BB01-BB06.

Non-paywalled link, again 😇 https://archive.ph/Oq5zu
That article that @the Theorist posted (and the TV Tonight Q&A) shows that they get it, so I’ll be confused if it’s not mostly true to the OG series.

Some people have said they'll be doing house tours after the show wraps. Idk how true that is. Either way, it's incredibly temporary looking. Even more temporary than the blueprint house the UK keeps using.

I prefer to stay optimistic rather than wallowing in negativity until I see the launch on Sunday night.

Even if it is literally a BB UK copy for me it would still be better than what 9 and 7 served up. And I am also glad that I get to tune into an actual 24/7 stream as I was not even 18 yet when BB first ended on 10.

I can see why you think that. This board is here for fans to discuss the show, good or bad. We all generally want the best for the show that we all like to watch. Maybe even production staff with any sway will see these discussions and walk away with feedback or an idea or two.

Fans being nervous over what the show might be after 12 months of anticipation and then seeing these social media promos the last couple days is not the same as wallowing in negativity.

Yes, 24/7 feeds is definitely a highlight of this reboot as I never had access to them when 10 was in its heyday. And I'd argue that 9 got some things right. I really enjoyed 2013.

I’ve tried to be optimistic but today was my breaking point.

Hypothetical scenario.

Imagine this year's season is filled with what I call Tier 2 applications (Tier 3 = not good enough at all, Tier 2 = not the best but good enough for this shortened season, Tier 1 = applications that get a surprise call up because producers want to save top quality housemates for a full length season next year

Hope I'm Tier 1 then 😄😄 (failed to get past initial online application round this year)

Thanks to @matts bb , is this the new theme mix?

I tried removing the talking and ended up with this low quality clip:

In summary, its basically the 2001 single with 2003 melody.

I decided to get on the positivity train. Toot toot! This is channel 10. They know how to make great reality TV. They always do it better than what channels 7 and 9 have to offer. This is the best chance Big Brother has had since the end of its first run. We have live feeds. We have an M classification so they are not pandering down to kids. We have Mel Tracina, an OG BB super-fan, as host who will shine in this role. We have the BB theme music back. The promotion campaign has been massive, and I suspect a lot of people will tune in out of curiosity on Sunday night.

Let's see how it goes. If there's anything we really don't like, hopefully they will listen to us and make changes for the better for 2026.

🤞

Would make sense since the marathon streams always started with the OG theme and the 2003 only before launching into the episodes. Was weird that once they reached the 2005 streams they didn't start using the 2005 theme as a "stream opener" and stuck with those since they definitely had that one as they posted the STEMS zip file a few months back.

Ideally we get an official release of the full remix before Sunday night (or at least immediately after Episode 1 has finished airing)
