I think this may be a situation where we have two versions of the logo. The full version with the human eye and the generic logo without. What’s being used here is pretty tiny so the human eye wouldn’t necessarily work. Also the adverts just the generic logo are just using it as a flash for a second or two. Kind of like the C4 era BBUK eye flash adverts never showed the complete eye. Just my theory.
Good point actually.

I hope for the Lauch and throughout this upcoming session they do little nods to the OG era of BB.
Mel comes on stage at the start of the launch and says "Hi, I'm Mel Tracina and at last the moment you have been waiting for is here, ARE YOU READY? Australia, Welcome BACK to Big Brother".
I love the fact "It's time to go" is coming back.

For a 33-year-old, I am way to excited for a TV show to come back 😁

I doubt it - a week for a three month series is one thing but for 4 weeks - not necessary. There has been nothing in the promos that needs to be kept hidden and doubt there will be. Suspect they'll go into lockdown the day before the upfront presentation - 3-4 days is plenty. From a staff and hotel costs point of view certainly not worth paying for this weekend.

I’m not sure what exactly separates a 4-6 week series from a 3 month series in terms of a lockdown. They’ve said the hm’s won’t be announced before hand. I’m sure the show will have some surprise twists and tasks.

2025 budgets and hype. In 2006 they had the money for a two week lockdown if need be and the hype was unavoidable. In 2025 they are not going to waste money on things which are not necessary and you could probably announce every single twist and housemate on Channel 10 in the days leading up to the show and most the HMs wouldn't see it.

In 2005, in this interview with Rove, Gretel is promoting the upcoming series and mentions at time stamp 7:00 that the housemates went into lockdown today. That was a Tuesday and the launch was on the Saturday night, so that was around 4 and a half days in lockdown. With a tighter budget these days, I would assume this season's housemates wouldn’t be in lockdown yet either and could possibly have even fewer days there than the OG series.

I was basing it on the channel 9 version, so maybe you're right, with the budget cuts they may not go in until Tuesday or even Wednesday. But if we do end up seeing any form of spoilers or anything I dare say that's a sign that they're in lockdown. Have to remember it's not just about stopping them from watching channel 10, it's also no communication with anyone whatsoever, bar production personnel. So their family and mates can't message them spilling any beans 😂

Most countries have rather short lockdowns these days, many cut down on the lockdowns even before Covid and only extended it for Covid. When BBAU was still on 9, Portugal had it already cut down to two days for Secret Story.

Countries used longer lockdowns for Covid and then you have the long-running franchises like the US and Brasil that still have rather long lockdowns. The US is close to 2 weeks and Brasil is up to 10 days, but civilians get sequestered earlier than the celebrities.

There's more to lockdowns than the media blackout aspect. It's a psychological transition period. They do final health checks and screenings. Contestant briefings/orientation. Some on camera stuff. Final contracts and housekeeping. It also helps them shake out any quitters.

I'd hazard a guess it starts tomorrow. Handler briefings in the morning, first half of the cast arriving in the afternoon, the rest arriving Tuesday.
