Speaking of Mike Goldman: I just saw him in the movie “Dangerous Animals” in a very brief role as a cop. It took me out 🤣. A movie set on the Gold Coast with a psychotic killer played by Jai Courtney obsessed with filming his victims getting eaten by sharks. Surfer chick vs. the killer in the middle of the ocean on a boat. Yeah, I probably wouldn’t recommend the movie to anyone. 😂

He seems to be very versatile.

He’s not aged well at all.

Discussion about Mike Goldman has been broken out into its own thread.

This mega thread is getting quite chunky at 40ish pages, which is fine for pre-season but as we approach the launch, separate topics are naturally coming up. Consider creating a new thread if it's a new topic. This mega thread will be closed just before the launch.

Not sure if relevant but I wonder about the logistics of flying in family and friends of the housemates for the eviction shows. Since it's such a short season, would they just put them all in a local hotel for a month? As it seems tedious flying them in and out once, or even twice a week. Depends if the same housesmates are up every week I guess. Just a thought that crossed my mind haha.

They might not bother at all.

My IG is now slamming me with 10's promos. Any theories on why Billie Eilish is the track used in all the promos? Wouldn't the theme tune or a version like it suffice?

This really makes me think we'll be getting the Love Island edit style.

Hmm, I don’t think so. Using a chosen track in a promo campaign (for any show) really isn’t anything new, and almost always has nothing to do with the show once it premieres. Ten are also notorious for it with their reality show campaigns.

They’ve gone with the Billie track simply because of the “bolder badder” tagline for this campaign.

I don’t think you have anything to worry about in that respect.

I don’t mind that song but you’re 100% right in pointing out that we are in a bit of a theme song drought atm.

Also IG you say? I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit curious who the man behind the mask is 😏

Also note, based on previous seasons, that all housemates could now be in lockdown, perhaps even from yesterday. So maybe we'll see some interesting promos moving forward.

Following on, some notable examples specific to BBAU over the years (excl. Seven's era):
  • 2006: "Peer Gynt, Op. 23 (Morning)" by Edvard Grieg
  • 2008" "I Don't Think So" by Kelis
  • 2012: "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO
  • 2013: "The Twist" by Chubby Checker
  • 2014: a custom version of "The Animals Went In Two By Two" nursery rhyme
  • and 2007 even used Advance Australia Fair at one point, seriously lol
But I can also think of half a dozen songs that Ten ran for their pre-season campaigns of The Masked Singer, I'm A Celebrity and The Bachelor over the years. They often just become earworms more than anything else. I don't think it's a sign of how the show will be produced...

Don't forget, the people editing a show's promos usually have nothing to do with the production of the show itself.

P.S. They're also using an instrumental of Troye Sivan's "Rush" in a couple of their current social media videos.

So now we're talking...😮‍💨
