It’s interesting the “BB10” branding is so prominent. Technically this would be BB9 for 10. I guess something only a person that’s religiously watched the show would notice but hey.

I'm half expecting a promo about the house build at some stage. Perhaps something that plays into the live factor, like:
Mel: 'This year Big Brother is live, so live that the house isn't finished yet.'​
*push some button to speak with BB*​
Mel (acting uncertain): 'Big Brother, the house will be ready in time, right?'​
Leon BB: 'Big Brother will get back to you...'​

I wonder whether they'll "test run" the house like when radio hosts used to live in the house for a few days before the season. I think Tim Ferguson was part of it before Season 3 as well.

Good question, I'd say that would be standard practice, stand-in's are needed to ensure cameras are positioned correctly, so no blind spots, obstructions, etc. And test the audio, as in microphones and ensure BB's voice works in different rooms, etc.

Edit: I reread your post, you obviously know why they do test runs... haha sorry 😅😂

You would hope they'd have at least a week prior to launch to test and fine tune everything. Which makes me think the house is a little further ahead than what they are showing (even if it's only a few days delay)
 
Has anyone been able to capture the short variant of the Mel promo that doesn’t air as often as the long one?

She says something different to the main promo, something like “what am I supposed to do?”, then gives the camera a “Big Brother is always watching”. It goes for maybe 10sec.
 
I haven't, but if when you see it you can note what time it was it might help. The 10sec promo I mentioned on Monday (not with Mel) was again aired last night around the same time.

It was during Ten News at 5, in Melbourne. Don’t worry, as a completionist I am on the hunt! 🧐;)

I’m missing captures of only three promos so far, that we know of:
- the short, aforementioned different version of Mel in the control room (approx 10sec)
- “TV history/returning home” bumper (approx 10sec)
- “I C O N I C” bumper (approx 5-10sec)

I'm probably looking too much into this... just thinking of the timeline here.

By saying after BB, you'd think that would mean she wouldn't return until the new year? Surely she wouldn't come back for a week or so then go off again for the Christmas break? Unless this means BB wraps the 7th/8th Dec?

Or does Mel work over Christmas 😂

Don't mind me I'm just over thinking 🤪
