šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§ BBUK 2025 - starts 28 Sep

the launch overstimulated me way too much, these people seem like cartoons. Is it worth me catching up on the last couple of episodes? I wanna be motivated but BBUS may have Big Brothered me out for a bit

They have four new housemates and the oldest one is received fairly well so far. It might also be worth it for the discussion about social issues that they've had (racism/trans)... but overall... I'm struggling with this season. They don't give the cast enough room to shine.. and the four latecomers are immune for the second eviction in a row, which is quite an odd decision by production. But this opening night twist or whatever you want to call it, doesn't give me hope that it will get better in regards to how production narrate the season and how much they'll influence it.

Also.. the game has changed because it's vote to save again.

Just did a bit of catch up of the last 2 eps, Theres still a bit of random discussions about social topics and getting to know you kinda stuff going on between the main action of nominations which this week is left to the 4 newbies giving 2 housemates 'The Evil Eye' one at a time. Now thats out of the way the first shop task will probably be in tomorrows' ep.

2 eps in. Most of the housemates have been okay. The farmer is a bit boring and they have had so many scenes with him. I’m also finding the diary room bits a bit boring, not sure if it’s the housemates or they are playing them more.

Idk i feel like I just wish itv would study channel 4 and 5 bb and try to replicate it. All of the ITV seasons are just blending in with each other. similar house, same stage, same casting formula, similar twists. It’s just lost the excitement abit.

What nonsense. He was literally one of the most memorable and interesting from the 7 Era.

Still not really excited with the cast... but the new eye currency is the first thing that I find interesting about the series.

I think I’ve given up with this series, I’ll still follow it on Instagram but not gonna watch in full.
I think I worked out what I don’t like about the itv era. It’s missing the fun and story lines. I feel like they just throw conversations and diary room entries into a show and hope for the best and it doesn’t feel like a properly produced show.
All the conversations are very woke/debates with housemates telling life stories which is good don’t get me wrong, but should not dominate. The show should still be fun and have story lines. Just my personal take.

I gave up on night one when they showed how much they respected the audience by having a pointless first night eviction then not even showing it us. The eyes proved to be a proper rather than format point too.

Everything since has just reaffirmed my decision not to watch but most concerning is how the cast has been hijacked by the far right - it's no coincidence they've put in a friend of Farage, a colleague of Farage and a vile Farage fanboy in there, plus an anti-Labour farmer. As much as BB should reflect the real world it should largely be an escape from it and be about personalities, not politics - and for viewers mostly fun, not draining.

Celebrity Traitors starts next week so that'll be a much better way to scratch the reality itch.

Will entering the house to collect Gani, in lieu of the outdoor exit, was one of the most awkward and bizarre choices I think production could’ve made.

Nice to see an eviction interview in the same episode though.

Yeah it was a bit awkward. Would've been better to just hang on a shot in the house as the door closed behind him and not show us Gani walking out through the weird side-door in the wall that apparently exists in the corridor.

This is the first BBUK series I'm opting to skip in a long while. ITV's iteration just lacks on so many levels. It's like a polished children's soap opera. I do not like the Big Brother character they've created. The voice is annoying. The cast are always super predictable now. I do not want to watch well behaved influencers interact - and interact in a very heavily controlled setting at that. ITV have embraced the LGBTQ community, which is great, but there's just too much storyline focused on what it's like to be trans, etc. There's a certain rawness missing now. The tasks are lackluster at most, the spinoff is a bizarre Big Mouth iteration from E4 full of no-namers.

I pray Australia doesn't carbon copy what ITV have done.

It's kind of nothing so far. The Eyes currency thing was interesting. Not that it was from that, but very early on we picked Gargamel Richard as a villain.

Elsa is ruined by Marcus, who is of no interest.

Political conversations are boring because it seems people on either side are quite low informed.

Both the nominees for eviction were a lose / lose for the viewer which was unfortunate.

OMG it’s been bugging me so bad, who Richard reminds me of, but you’re spot on šŸ˜‚
I’m liking it so far, I’m a huge fan of pointless conversations, they often actually reveal quite a lot when their guards are down.
I’m glad Gani went though, he talked over people a fair bit and always steered the convo back to him, he was getting tedious after only a week.
I’ve started watching Late and Live for the first time and WTF is that show about? It’s so awkward, even the audience looks uncomfortable! It’s really bad telly and I watch loads of bad telly so I’m qualified to comment.

Yeah the eyes as currency were interesting, I thought they might be communal at first like the Tokens from BB9 and 10, but theyre individualised and the way then then called each one out is sure to cause some friction. Richard stockpiling his for some massive advantage at some point if he gets that far I suppose.

The holding the eviction indoors because of the storm was also done in BB13's first eviction due to high winds, in that case they had the evictee exit through the diary room and next was driven into the BOTS studio in a buggy.

Also similar to Luke A in BB13, Zelah seems to be grappling a little with wanting to give it a little for others to get to know him before disclosing vs having chest surgery scars that are hard to hide if he wants to fully enjoy himself in the hottub etc without feeling conspicuous. He's only told a few people so far lets see if he gets it out of the way with the rest.

Gani going over Zelah wasnt that much of a surprise, He was starting to grate on some of them especially with his reactions to being nominated and them leaving him no eye money. And there were some moments there he kinda reminded me a little of Shahbaz in BB7, although not quite as dramatic perhaps.

Week 2 nominations should be interesting.

Late and Live has always been awful, as was Bit on the Side and Big Mouth beforehand. Little Brother was the definitive spin off.

I've now deleted the series from my planner having not watched since the launch but no surprise the eviction show works better in the studio. More camera angles and the crowd under control during the announcement. Only issue is the eviction itself but if you just show the evictee leaving from the house then pick up with them entering the studio it's fine - that's what Aus and Canada did for years. Always said they should have set up the last studio like that considering it was in touching distance of the house.

Confused but not surprised by the producers’ inconsistency. There was an episode the other day when George said something that was seen as homophobic towards Sam, which made the latter cry as he was quite offended by it. Big Brother was later very stern to George in the Diary Room saying that those kinds of comments can be seen as discriminatory, strictly not allowed and considered ā€œvery seriousā€ by BB. Fair.

…but then (unless I’ve completely misunderstood), in the latest episode, BB accepted a nomination reason from George for voting Sam because he cried from something he said and that Sam should more or less ā€œtoughen upā€ and not take things to heart. Um. If it was enough for BB to call George up on it and say his behavior was not on, why would BB then accept George nominating his so-called victim for that very reason? Isn’t that kind of saying what he said was permissible? Shouldn’t BB have kept his stance on the issue?

Wtf.
