BBUK 2025 - starts 28 Sep

the first night timebomb eviction was a genuine eviction as well until Simon was brought back
Bare in mind that Simon's eviction was intended to be genuine, but then they were scrambling when Channel 5 mandated the "Four out, four in" idea after panicking about the ratings and feedback that the season was boring. Production either couldn't find a fourth person who was able to drop things and go into the house on such short notice - or they just said "fuck it" and took the easy route since Simon was gagging to go back in anyway.

Unless that situation is recreated, I don't see them putting whoever it is back in.

It blows my mind that they go to the trouble of casting a selection of big personalities and unique characters only to let the public have a say in one of them going home on day ONE. Of course the bigger characters are going to be at risk.

I haven’t even watched the launch (which is a genuine Big Brother first) but based on the VTs that are on Instagram I’m not pulled in any way. That’s a pretty wild turnaround for a show that I was singing the praises of massively this time two years ago.

seems as though they are trying to target a younger audience this year potentially if I’ve guaged correctly, only two cast members 30+. And some of the cast feels love island type. Will be interesting to see how the season plays out.

Not a fan of the evictions after one day, but not surprised considering ITV seems to be obsessed with doing it in love island.

Good mix of characters, not a bad launch.

Hmm. I only have one thought after watching the Launch.

When they said "And can we talk about how great this cast is?!!!" to the Late & Live audience, and literally one single person managed a cheer. That said it all.

Why why whyyyyyy?!

I agree it was definitely a little more polished than last year's live Launch. I also noticed they opted for efficiency midshow and started rolling the eyes down to the stage during the interviews, rather than play on the theatrics all twelve times. A couple other tech issues but for the most part it was a smooth show, all things considered.

Disagree on it being a good mix of HMs. They all seemed very much the same type to me - they were all OTT, annoying caricatures of each other.

EDIT: Actually, there was an exception. Zelah seemed like the only down-to-earth one of the lot. I'm calling it now... Zelah wins 2025.

Interesting Launch. At first with the eyes rolling and having to keep them with them I was thinking, Some of them seem to not be at all that bothered about where they've left theirs lying around, what if some get swapped. But it turned out they were all the same it was just a prop for the lighting up of the evil eye vote and there wasn't anything in them.

Bit of a timewarp seeing Natalie Cassidy on Late & Live, as i'm currently up to where she's become a semi-regular guest on BOTS after appearing in CBB9, It'll soon be one in the opposite direction of a throwback when I shortly get up to where AJ starts hosting on BOTS soon.

I wonder if the one to be 'Evicted' just gets to go to a bedsit and 'Evil Eye' the others and influence the first nominations or something. Pleasantly surprised they seemed to get the hint this year and had some restraint on number of housemates at 12 on Launch as well.

Favourite cast for itv era was definitely their first season. For a first season, I think that cast was great. Didn’t like it at first but grew on me. Shame it was a short season. Some characters were really starting to come thru.

Shame feels like itv has got worse each season.

I agree biggest thing for me is that while the first series was decent it was far from perfect I preferred BB19. Seems to me that ITV really have only looked at the ratings and decided they had a winning formula instead of listening to critiques.

I also don’t think from a production standpoint that ITV chose the right people for key production roles. Tazman might have been a part of the C5 refresh I don’t think she alone ever got it “right”. It’s really a shame Paul Osborne wasn’t brought back as he’s the only one on the production side of things that seemed to have an ‘eye’ for what a revamped series could look like.

Also: They’ve changed furniture last-minute before for no apparent reason, so it might not mean anything, but they’ve done it again for the launch. The house photos on Instagram had 3 sofas on each side with one being purple. On launch night, they only had two on each side and only one purple sofa. Which might come down to them removing two sofas because they needed the space for the podiums.

I wonder if the purple sofa(s) will mean anything. My first idea was that the purple sofa would make for a good nominee's sofa on eviction night. If that's the case, two purple sofas might lead to some sort of divide, but I might as well read too much into it.
Nothing new - think BB3, BB4 and BB6 all changed their sofas between releasing the pics and launch night.

The night one boot didn’t even get an appearance on Late and Live. 😂

I didn’t watch it but quickly skipped through it and didn’t see the evictee.

Of the three, I’m glad with the one who went, forgot her name, she seemed the most tame.

Glad they’re adding in more hm’s, cast felt like it was missing something, hopefully they round the cast out nicely.

BB12 also had some cow pattern garden sofas for like a day around Day 3 before they changed it for no apparent reason.

Caught up again, Looks like I spoke too soon, 4 Latecomers, they could've given them at least a couple days/week for them to settle a bit before dropping them in to shake up the dynamic (like the wildcard in BB13), or even 2 weeks in, but they seem to all be a bit quirky so it'll be interesting to see how they go nonetheless.

Whilst the launch rated almost level with last year at just over 800k the second show was 120k down year on year at 550k, beaten by MAFSUK at 770k (itself down 130k on last year). Blue Lights topped the slot with 2.1m.

The 5 voted for by the public will be... and we predicted all five of them. So obvious. Not because we would have voted for them but from knowing how people thing.
Considering I have been shown big fights and incidents from BB UK recently. It's been a bit tame.

the launch overstimulated me way too much, these people seem like cartoons. Is it worth me catching up on the last couple of episodes? I wanna be motivated but BBUS may have Big Brothered me out for a bit
