BBAU Rewatch

Xavier was the same for me- but to a lesser extent as he wa able to fit in with the boy group and also talk to the girls. I found him to be more of a realist. He was happy to answer questions about who he liked, like saying jade is a nice girl but he isn’t silky enough to know that would ever eventuate past them being friends, yet he could joke about it quite comfortably without attaching emotions. I know you and I have differing opinions of him though and that’s cool.

You and I do seem to agree more often than disagree. You know what I think it might be about Xavier, he was pretty down about being nominated, not that happy about being in the halfway house. To be honest, who can blame him! That’s a pretty rough way to start and then continue your BB journey. Maybe if it wasn’t for that I would have enjoyed him more.

What does Rohan do for a living?
He’s an actor and maybe even director I think these days. I heard he was in a show called Le Brea. I did see some ads for it on channel 9 but never watched.

Agree with this. Mikkayla also made the same mistake by going too hard against Tim during her final week in the show, after being close with him for most of the show.
💯 but I also think mikkayla was up against the public where you were either a Tahan fan or mikkyala fan. I don’t remember many being both in these forums. Whilst I loved the arguments on here, and can now see the value both gave, in that time, you were either in one side or the other, and then topped off with Tim, there were too many against her, because rims fans were more silent but boy were they strong.

I haven’t seen the second nomination yet, I’m still half way through the first live eviction. I’ve forgotten that part actually. I think the hms of 2013 are mostly awesome tbh. Collectively, the best group. Varied personalities, interesting backgrounds, mostly didn’t care how they came across and that was my favourite part. Especially having someone like Tim in the house who would build you up.

Amazing! well down to him. Even more now I wish we got to know him a little more

Mikkayla was nominated against Boog and Tahan in the week she went home. That was the week where the house divided between the fun group/toilet humour group and the boring group, and Mikkayla was bagging out Boog for the toilet humour and had a major blow up with Tim, which cost her some public support and helped increase Boog’s. The audience reaction to Mikkayla at that eviction was quite negative. Given Mikkayla’s save vote was less than 2 percent behind Boog’s save vote, there is a good chance she survives that eviction if the drama with Tim and Boog doesn’t happen.

Oh yeah! Totally forgot about boog! She also drove Tim up the wall 😂 I can’t wait to watch all of this again!

Okay...

1) Tim should have saved tahan. I obviously wanted jade saved, but the fact tahan came second in the games and lets be honest, she had to draw harder things- Tim should have given the save to her.
2) tahan is very emotional tonight. I feel for her. She isn't the kind of girl to cry so watching that, you know she is not coping. I think things are building up and even though she said she didn't need anyone at the same time she never said she wants everyone to dislike her and I think she feels this way.
3) this jade thing is effing cringeworthy. I can't take it anymore! She is really stupid at times. Yes I said it. Yes I am aware I have defended this girl but gee whiz- get a clue! Stop chasing him, you look ridiculous!
4) Tim it was cute, but just stop! You don't need jade... She is a no hoper! She is sweet and she is a delight as a person, but she is effed up when it comes to guys!
5) mikkayla you kind of suck as a friend- seriously! I would prefer a friend to tell me straight up if I was being too much. Sure I'd be annoyed with you, but I'd love you that much more because I'd trust you more than any other friend.
6) Tully honestly thinks she is entitled to stuff. Can't believe she actually thought Tim would choose her.
7) sugar sisters take everything so well. I don't know how they do it. I actually envy how they just take things in their stride.
8) ed you are a dick! The only praise for jade to ight is the fact she told Tim straight up that she was not interested. That's how you do it ed!
9) Ben is growing on me. I like his little comments and the little quirky things he does. He would be amazing narrating a story. He really is like mr bean.
10) I enjoyed how tully was really good with mikkayla in the nurse challenge. She was very positive and full of praise. I like that she was very encouraging. Don't get me wrong still want her gone. This is a small part I likes of her, I can do without it if it means I never have to watch the sulkiness.

Okay, that is all

Great post here in 2013 @Sweetgeek 👏🏽 👏🏽

Also @Isee, I never replied to you directly but with Rohan and Xavier, I hope you read my long posts in regards to them. For me they both came across well and Rohan I felt could have been a relateable hm for people outside the house had he given himself a chance. That could have been a really well executed storyline to see someone struggle and find their way in the house you know what I mean? Xavier honestly was a chameleon. He could play with the alpha males and yet have a serious conversation with others, and then throw some grey one liners in there. A missed opportunity to see him further himself in the house imo. Would love to see him back

I think that is why I liked 2013 as well - casting was really on point to have people that left that early on that you think yeah I could have seen them stay longer and be interesting. even people that really did not do anything much for me entertainment wise like Matt still seemed to not be the biggest dud.

I’m loving this discussion, especially I guess since it’s so fresh in my mind. It’s quite fascinating watching something so old, firstly it’s interesting remembering where I was or what was going on in my life at that time, but it’s also fascinating to see the way my thoughts or feelings towards people or events have changed, or not.

But also, I’ve said this before, it’s weird when i become older than someone who was older than me at the time but they don’t look super young, yet the people who looked so old are now my age or younger.

that’s awesome for Rohan that he has some regular acting work. Kind of surprised to see Jade getting regular work as well, I haven’t seen anything to comment on her abilities though.

I actually think if Rohan had gone into the house at the start he would have been fine, certainly wouldn't have gone home before Sharon or Xavier at any rate and might have had a shot at getting to the middle weeks. I think being a latecomer and not the obviously bubbly sweet type that the sisters were caused people to distrust him but by the end of the week that he left a lot of the house were saying that they were liking him a lot more.

Matt had an interesting background. Would have been great to hear some of those stories. Unfortunately I think he played it safe, he avoided conflicts, getting into trouble, picking sides etc, but you’re right he wasn’t bad viewing either, even if he just comes across as nice mostly. It stood out to me when he was talking to Tahan, he asked how her boyfriend would feel watching her lie next to Caleb- boy in a judgemental way but how it could be perceived and I guess this was his way of sharing advice. He was king in his approach which did raise my estimation of him from being nice to being a good hearted person who sees from all perspective
