Correct, I'd like to think Australia has matured a lot over the last 20 years.

My point was mainly that I wanted genuine people, not fake fucks, but I may have gotten a bit carried away

In many ways we have but the definition of “matured” is different depending on whom you’re talking to. Some seem to believe they should be entitled to say whatever they want whenever they want while others believe the freedom to do so shouldn’t be without consequence. I believe Mike falls in to the latter.

As for your second point I believe we can have a diverse group of genuine people without platforming extremists. I think the key is finding people with firmly held beliefs that are at least willing to listen to what the other side says and at least try and find common ground.

It's a TV show, of course they have a warm up person hahaha. But that doesn't mean the crowds weren't electric

The warm-up guy did amp us up and direct us, plus both prior to the show and during the ad breaks, there was music and mini prizes to be won so the energy was already high. But yeah when Gretel walked out, the crowd got noticeably louder.

So the thread about the house has been locked, but I'm super curious where they could possibly fit the house.

They do have an exhibition centre at dreamworld now which seems to make sense for the live shows, provided that DW are ok with not being able to book it out for the whole run, but seems unlikely for end of year. (Ruling out the house being built in there as it's only 1500m2 and the last 7 House was in a space 3000+m2)

According to users on parkz.com.au, there is some space to the right of the Gold Coaster where new permanent fencing has been erected and some land clearing works are underway, it's also very close to the exhibition center, so maybe?

Also looks like the other side of the park is currently under some rezoning proposals with applications for new buildings on the old amphitheater site, so I doubt we'd see that space used.

But does anyone know how/if Dreamworld has to submit planning/development applications to the local council? There is literally no record of any works at dreamworld on their site which seems strange...

(I can add sources later if anyone wants, but I've been doing lots of digging lately in the past few days so might take a bit to dig stuff back up haha)

What are our theories for where the new house will be located within Dreamworld and do we think they will build the camera runs behind mirrors in the walls again, or depend more on PTZ cameras which are visible throughout the house (I personally prefer the camera runs behind mirrors).

As a new poster I’d highly recommend you read threads before posting in them.

Noted earlier in this thread that the press release mentions a staff of about 95 people which is down from hundreds during the previous 10 era.

Unless the bulk of that compliment are camera operators I’m doubtful they have the staff to warrant relying on individual manned cameras. I also don’t believe fixed rig cameras actually add anything to the series. Just like the idea that a smaller house leads to more conflict I think it’s a bit of a fallacy to say that having the cameras hidden means HM’s will somehow forget they’re being filmed.

As for speculation about the house location there’s plenty in the thread if you look for it.

I think a lot of people are expecting the normal 80-100 day run, they're going to be in for a shock lol.

We need to flood their socials demanding a longer season, even if it means waiting until next year. We've already waited 17 years (BB08) for this moment, a few extra months wont hurt

I'm still in the camp that even the channel 7 shows weren't badly cast. As someone on here pointed out to me during the Channel Nine era. You're not going to get applying who are unfamiliar with social media and reality TV like the early days.

I'd actually say the first 3 series on 7 probably cast wider than most of the 10 era. If the OG casts were around in the Instagram era and you applied a strict anti-social media whore rule you'd probably be axing at least half of the 10 casts immediately.
