BBAU 2025: Casting open, return to Dreamworld Confirmed

I guess it was never part of the first few seasons, so I can't imagine they'll bring it back for this series, but potentially next, as I can see a fair few comments asking for it to return.

Also a few asking for Mike Goldman to be narrator, which I believe should be the case. He may not be everyone's cup of tea, but hearing, "Coming to you live from Dreamworld on the Gold Coast!" isn't going to be the same if it's someone else.
It is apparent that the promos and shorts are all focusing heavily on the 01-04 (pre-FNL) era which is promising. Some form of FNL could eventuate, it cannot be debated that it is possibly the number one request from the casual audience and no doubt TEN/Endemole will not be able to ignore it forever.

I am personally pro Mike returning as I totally agree with you that it won't feel the same to hear someone else say the iconic live show intro. I understand why others don't like him but I argue that having him is as necessary as the return to dreamworld was. Did the show need to go back to the GC? No. But if the whole idea is to seemingly reset as if we're going in fresh right off the back of the 2008 series (or 2014 depending on how you want to look at it) then the whole thing will feel incomplete with Mike I feel.

I agree, why come this far just to not bring him back?

They said they've got the OG theme, which they've been using, so I wonder if they're going to use the 01/02 theme for their titles?

I've noticed their Insta has gone up another 1k followers too. Crazy how much attention this is getting, I'm wondering if they didn't stray away from the original format like they did, and rolled with the controversy, if it would've lasted longer on Ten.

I've been wondering that also, I really hope they use the OG theme. How iconic? I am also pleasantly surprsied at the attention it is getting too, I wasn't expecting anyone to care but it seems the general audience is really getting behind this. I think if they do a proper lengthened season in 2026 we could look at BBAU's longest run!

Up to over 8k applications in 4 days... according to BB Insta.

I just did a quick reference and 9,000 people applied for BB01. This is insane 🤯
wow. At its peak were the numbers around 45,000? I can see that being beaten handily at this rate. Those numbers are really crazy, the hype is very real!

If they don't, I can only assume its for his conspiracy theory shit he's been posting on Twitter for years now and they'd rather not deal with articles about it all while mentioning the show at the same time.
Perhaps that could be a possibility.

But that's potentially the topics people are going to talk about on the show, the controversial shit, the crazy/random shit, politics, cost of living, working/middle class perspectives, etc. It makes for interesting TV.

But if you have a house full of air heads who have never worked a proper day in their lives, and rely solely on their looks and daddy's bank account, it'll be a shit show 😂

I will say though, now more than ever, the BB rules will apply, they really wouldn't want to get cancelled.

However if a viewer puts a complaint in because their feelings were hurt, I hope they have big enough balls to be like "You'll be ok sweetie, change the channel x"

20 years ago you could have a cross section of society with a range of viewpoints but in 2025 there’s a fine line between acceptable differences of opinion/world view and those who are completely out to lunch.

Correct, I'd like to think Australia has matured a lot over the last 20 years.

My point was mainly that I wanted genuine people, not fake fucks, but I may have gotten a bit carried away 🙃

Lets not stress, these were the exact same people begging to get onto the 2014 one.

I mean, yeah, we still got self absorbed himbos and bimbos. But we also got self absorbed smart people!

I'm still in the camp that even the channel 7 shows weren't badly cast. As someone on here pointed out to me during the Channel Nine era. You're not going to get applying who are unfamiliar with social media and reality TV like the early days.
