BBAU 2025: Casting open, return to Dreamworld Confirmed

TEN really are making up for the lost time from the holdback. My tiktok fyp is reality TV centered already as is but its been flooding my fyp this week now. Whats also great to see is an overwhelming amount of positive comments on the posts. I can feel the hype I really can.
 
So I think the hype I’m seeing pretty much proves my thesis that this era MUST be made with the OG fans in mind. It doesn’t need to be “adult” per se but have that same broad and unfiltered appeal the original had and honestly the rest WILL fall in to place. All I’m seeing right now is people talking about how much they adored the original run and that has to speak to something about the overall direction this era moves in…

This is 100% a winning formula and with the grassroots movement I’m seeing on social media in a extremely short amount of time it’s bound to spark curiosity from “younger” viewers…

Especially if 10/Endemol are less restrictive with copyright restrictions. I’m expecting decent numbers for the premiere but I can almost guarantee if they foster this grassroots movement and have a strong quirky cast we’re going to see even bigger numbers as the series progresses…

Also gotta say in terms of casting please look at the last 3 seasons of BBUS… I think they’ve done a fantastic job finding some interesting characters that feel both modern AND old school. It’s also clearly working as we’ve seen the first season over season increase in viewers in years and a very similar level of hype that we’re seeing with BBAU. The overall format of the show isn’t exactly comparable but the ethos 100% is… Also if we’re looking at ways to “modernize” the format I think casting is one of the best ways that can be achieved. I think the quirkiness and odd ball casting needs to be dialed up a bit while still maintaining a level of authenticity… Not necessarily stunt casting like BB08 but highlighting characters we aren’t seeing on other modern reality shows.

I wonder if they were to upload the original series, it will be on that Resay YT channel?

Time will tell, I just checked the YT channel and they have the original series of The Biggest Loser Australia as well as a few shows.

Maybe they'll utilise Resay for the "Best Bits" and 10.com.au for the full series uploads.
 
Late in the game here, "filming commences early November" means the show will launch at that month with the host introducing the housemates and such, right? There are no pre-filmings and stuff like that?

That is correct. Everything will be live, but they may pre-record the launch. But with live streaming, I'd say not, though!

That thought had occurred as well. Perhaps they saw the backlash against a 4-5 week season and are weighing up a full length one? Maybe talking to sponsors before they decide? You'd have to think Dreamworld would want it right through summer.
 
Maybe bang on after new year could work? Like they used to launch I’m a celeb as early as January 3rd (was it 2019 season?) if they didn’t want to wait until end January/early Feb for ratings season start - this also avoids them being in there over Xmas/New Year.

So it’d be like the old Winter CBB in BBUK kinda launch dates only a regular season and Summer?
