BB27 USA - starts 10 July

Since the friday show is airing until September 26th it could be another 90 day season. Initially I was pumped to read 90 minute episodes, but realising it is the Wednesday show thats being extended the veto comps will probably be enlongated with many more repeated confessionals on how the veto works... ugh

I'm super keen though, it looks like we're in for a lot of Big Brother from July-December with US, UK and AU taking up almost the entire last half of 2025. BB fans get keen because this is going to be a massive year for English speaking Big Brother.

I can see where you’re coming from in terms of the 90 minute Wednesday episode but I can’t actually see them being able to expand the Veto Comp beyond where it was already at. I think it’s far more likely we’ll actually see the Veto Ceremony in the Wednesday episode on a constant basis vs having it spill over in to Thursday.

As noted several times there was a marked improvement in overall storytelling last season and IMO this additional time added to the Wednesday episode has more to do with addressing issues with pacing than it does with padding things out.

If this would have happened several years ago I’d 100% agree with you but it does seem like Grodner & Co have been making honest attempts to actually improve the show.

I’m also quite certain that this particular change signals a return of the AI Arena in some form. Which would necessitate the need to have POV pretty much wrapped up prior to the live show.

Ugh. They're doing 90 minute episodes with this too? 🤮

I'd been watching The Amazing Race for years and gave up very quickly after they expanded the episode length because they were just inserting so much pointless footage to service the CBS mandate to extend the show. Survivor suffered the same fate too.

When they're messing with the pacing of such long running shows that people are so used to, with the exception of one off special episodes, it just makes it feel like they go on and on forever for no real reason (other than to save CBS some money my having to pay for a third show for the night).

Especially as they've pretty much dropped the extra comps that aired on Sundays now, usually bumping the HoH comp over instead.
