BB/CBB UK - Rewatch discussions

BBUK10 Finale Week recap
  • They had an interesting task to start the final week. Called ‘The Task with no name’, they were given 3 rules, including not to tamper with the pass/fail meter in the task room, and to figure out how to pass the task within a few hours. They enter the task room filled with various random ‘challenges’ such as eggs and buckets (which David fills up by separating yolks), a gorilla suit and pogo stick (which Charlie tries to figure out). What they had to figure out was though that every time one of them would exit the room, the Pass/Fail meter dial would go up a little, and go back down when they came back in. They eventually figured it out that all they had to do was have everybody exit the room to pass, and won a Chinese takeaway dinner.

  • Next BB shows them all a compilation video of all heir nominations against each other over the weeks for a ‘nominations quiz’ classroom style with paddles to add money back to the prize fund. After that BB surprises them with a shock final nominations after Charlie is first casually called to the diary room and asked to nominate. He refuses to, which sets off another bit of to and fro over whether they should all refuse to. Lisa and David end up nominating, saying theyve always stuck to/respected the rules so why stop now and let others dictate their actions kinda thing. Rodrigo also nominates, and based on how everyone who has voted said they nominated, Siavash decides to refuse as well as Sophie following his lead to have the three of them automatically nominated, but the other 3 all tied on 1 so everyone is up anyway. They could’ve perhaps twisted that back on them if they wanted to I thought by only having the auto nominated up, meaning we would’ve lost one of Siavash, Sophie or Charlie for sure, but otoh it injected a bit of drama again on top of them being able to discuss noms freely these past few final weeks, even if it just worked out everybody being up like they wanted.
  • Siavash, Charlie, Sophie and Rodrigo even discuss walking off the show in the diary room over it, but thinking what kindof show it would be leaving the Bus Stop buddies only in the house the final days lol. They decide to get over it and stay.
  • Charlie pisses off Lisa further though by banging a pan as a prank in the bedroom at night. They make up the following day.

  • BB screens the house the actual BB episode of Day 50 (Day after Kenneth’s escape from the house), which they will have to recreate and film as part of the final week’s shopping task. Siavash quickly realises it the episode where the whole Noirin mess started where the spooned and kissed, and cant bear to watch it so he goes off to the bedroom to sit it out in embarrassment. Sophie is a bit of a crack up re-enacting Noirin in the diary room.
  • They are then given a mini task to win a screening of their BB Episode film to recreate the Beyonce Single Ladies music video. David is Beyonce with Sophie and Siavash as back up dancers. Charlie kicks up a massive sulk about it getting the Stylist job, not because he wanted to be Beyonce/dancer but because he reckons he’s shit at being a stylist. Anyways the routine is hilariously bad but they still pass.
  • Rodrigo gets the shits with Charlie and Siavash hurrying him up with the hair straightener before the eviction. Davina announces one by one who is through to the Finale before it’s down to Charlie and Lisa, Charlie starts changing his shirt thinking its him but It’s Lisa evicted. Panellists are David Schnieider and Kim Woodburn. They also gave Lisa a miniature replica of the Bus Stop.

  • It’s David’s Birthday, and he gets a card from Vivian Westwood which makes his day, and Charlie makes him a shirt. He also has the final win back money task, to guess the orders the others have ranked themselves in outside. The final Prize tally is around 71 000 pound provided Siavash leaves in his outfit.
  • Theres a party for david in the task room. Meanwhile, Siavash goes missing for some time, and it turns out he’s thinking of walking and discussing it with BB in he Diary room before deciding to sleep on it and returned to the house. the next morning he decides to stick it out the final 2 days.
  • They have a final dinner and a dance to Michael Jackson’s ‘Man In The Mirror’. Finale night Eviction order is Rodrigo, Charlie, David, Siavash leaving Sophie as the Winner. They get Vt’s by Judy James in the interviews.

  • BBLB Final week included ‘Jobby’ winning the final Be BB comp task which was an assault course picking up housemate faces along the way, oversaw by BB9’s Mario and Lisa, who played out the Sunday episode with the band singing ‘Physical’. Iain Lee did a wrap up recap of the BB around the world segment. Marcus had a few segments including an arm wrestle rematch with Tom, and a ‘be succeedy’ skit with comedian character ‘L Vaughan Spencer’.
  • Lisa’s Big Mouth episode had John McCririck and Olivia Lee, with Brian Belo dressed up as Olivia replacing her partway through the ep with her reappearing at the end during Rashy’s outro as musical guest. Lisa did a scene enactment with Kyran Bracken on BBLB, and was styled by Bea and Brixt Smith Start alongside Anna Nolan from BB1, who had a segment with Terry Christian discussing being runner up.
  • The Finale Show had Ulrika Jonsson on with all the housemates, the F & F had turns throwing paintballs at Mario, Brian Belo and Glyn doing the Beyonce routine.
  • The Finale Big Mouth also had Terry Christian and Bob Mortimer as guests, Basshunter as the musical Guest while a reunion show a week after had Jarred Christmas and Boyd Hilton with Lethal Bizzle as the musical Guest.
  • The Reunion BBLB show had Sophie doing a fake pregnancy test, and Angel singing it out with her song ‘It’s Over Till Next Time’. Marcus also doing a skit about his taking on all the ninjas challenge story, amongst other things.

Next: Overall Season recap and Housemate notes

BBUK10 Overall Season Thoughts
  • I enjoyed this one, I thought It was cast really well with a load of different characters and carried it through, worthy of being up there in the conversation of comparison with Season's like BB7 and BB9. Although at the same time there were a few points that kinda caused the season to drag the pace a little bit IMO, like when the whole Noirin thing was chewing up a lot of the screen time at the expense of some other storylines.

  • And also drawing a fine line between too much produce manipulation vs it actually being a good twist to jazz it up a bit or get things moving. For what its worth as OTT and cheap as dumping Isaac in there was, it certainly moved the Noirin situation along to its climax.
  • As for the first half with Halfwit being relentlessly put in one V one nomination face offs, coming close to a deja vu of Paul in BB2, they were still able to introduce some flavour in things such as the speed noms, and the punishment nominations challenges, the first of which led to what could be perhaps one of the biggest butterfly effect moments of the season by getting Kris out at an early opportunity. The switch to vote to save with the all up week also took care of Hira going under the radar, although she had just started coming into the spotlight in the edit space thanks to Noirin’s exit.
  • There were some similar tasks following on from BB9, such as Dance routines (although the Bunraku style one was 2 teams and slightly different to the BB9 one), and they had about 3 Country themed ‘multiple tasks in one’ weeks this series with Italy, Greece and the UK. The one with the Bus to London outside the house with Lisa Nad David though was ambitious and something they hadn’t done up to then. They also did well to incorporate some ideas in seemingly on the fly, such as Rodrigo meeeting the fake Queen and Sophie’s geography test.
  • At the very beginning the Non Housemate twist was a bit mixed, but it certainly had one Iconic to the season effect with Halfwit and Dogface’s titles.

  • I didn’t mind the switch up to the eviction panel, there were only a few weeks where it didnt quite pop as well, but I found the reuse of the psych’s in particular like Judy James, helped it live up to it’s potential by offering a bit of that ‘On The Couch’ feel into the actual eviction show with the housemate live and fresh from the house. I hear it goes back to regular Davina only format for 2010.
  • The inclusion of the Quiz of the Decade in BBLB I found entertaining, with the whole 10th year celebrations. Big Mouth with regular Davina hosting continued to go well, and they used Brian Belo recurring as well.
  • It was also interesting that they went into all of 2010 with the advance confirmation that the show would be wrapping up on Ch 4, the announcement coming near the end of this series vs midway through BB11. Would’ve gave them a lot of planning room, which I can already see with CBB7 taking a distinct departure in theming and house design from it’s preceding Civilian season, and from what I’ve gathered Im looking forward to the house design in BB11 apparently its a bit different.

Anyways, onto some last housemate thoughts and after stories notes next.

BBUK10 Housemates wrap up Part A:
Again there was a main 2023 update The Sun article about the where are they now: https://www.thesun.co.uk/tv/2434008...-onlyfans-to-star-exposed-as-an-online-troll/
  • Beinazir: It was a bit of a shame she went so early, she had potential to be a lot of fun, as shown on her further appearances on BBLB. A good twist may have been to just chuck her back in after Saffia walked perhaps. Anyways already by the end of the show she was getting into various projects, and recently does OF and runs a cleaning business.
  • Saffia: Another one that left a bit premature, She kinda did a reverse order of Chanelle walking in BB8, although at the time it was rumoured that as well as missing her kids and not being able to stand Sophia, She was a bit miffed about Kris fancying Sophie over her and later had a bit of regret over walking, but thats how it went. Apparently she now works in Cosmetics.
  • Sophia: Had a very quick turnaround, she was getting quite a few cheers on entry like she could’ve been a potential winner/favourite early on, appearing to have a bit of a bubbly image, but then her argumentative side came out in that first week, she was very say it how she saw it. Perhaps if Lisa had been up as I guessed very early on, it could’ve been another story had she stayed past Saffia walking. Sadly She passed away in 2012 according to the article, but also having raised awareness of Lupus in her short time on the show. RIP. She had some funny reappearances on BBLB etc during the series.
  • Cairon: It would’ve been interesting to see what became of him if he’d stayed longer as well, He was starting to get a main antagonist in Sree with some blow ups as well as the whole Bromance with Siavash, after he left Siavash did kindof become a floater towards the background for a little bit. After the show it looks like he put out an EP, to be expected he’d have a go with the whole host of kinda UK Grime acts they had as Big Mouth Musical guests during the season haha.
  • Angel: similarly to Cairon, but with a bit more musical experience in Russia under her belt (boxing at the gym she ran) She was one of the kookiest housemates this series. Although she kindof made a dummy error getting the house offside literally the morning of the speed nominations round by making comments about Noirin looking pregnant and letting herself go. Nonetheless, she made multiple reappearances on BBLB etc, and appeared on the Ant & Dec game show Red Or Black making it quite far, also auditioning for BGT. She still boxes and is in a band.
  • Sree: Got a bit weighed down by becoming embroiled in the whole Noirin and Marcus drama, which ran its course a bit, early in the series. Apparently he returned to India in Jan 2010 after his visa expired and hasn’t really been heard from in the public eye since.
  • Kris: As aforementioned, doing himself in as a result of breaking the noms talking rule then failing the no talking mini rule saw him up and out earlier than he may have been otherwise, which Allowed Sophie to break out of the showmance pigeonhole (although she dint really begin to come into her own until a bit later). It was also the beginning of Lisa’s original Clique breaking down, and Charlie losing a sidekick and his tiffs with Rodrigo starting to ramp up. Sophie confirmed as of the Big Mouth reunion they were officially not resolving and getting back together. After the show Kris went on to a career in merchandising and fashion, and also notably had a baby with David Beckham’s sister Joanne.

BB10 will always be the series that got the show axed, although really the blame lies with the race row of CBB5 which C4 just really struggled to move past even though viewers absolutely were ready to move on from the start of BB8. Axing the live feed was the final nail in the coffin.

We'll never know of course but if BB11 had arrived instead of BB10 in 2009 I do think C4 would have renewed it.

BBUK10 Housemates wrap up Part B:
  • Karly: Early on it seemed she was kindof a compare and contrast alongside Sophie as two blondes in the house. She had her issues with Halfwit/Freddie, but began to warm to him whilst also being part of the Lisa clique, after Kris left being her main offsider in her final week in the house. It was there she did a revolving door turn with her boyfriend Kenneth, who kindof embarrassed her with his antics although she initially stuck by him (and won a cool 50 grand betting on Sophie to win in the Finale) before splitting with him. She now works in motivational speaking.
  • Kenneth: Gave us another bizarre exit as Marcus helped him over the wall as a result of Karly’s message about her contraceptive pills. The psychologists perspectives on his short stint in the house was interesting, from his position as a very wealthy on the outside but wanting to do BB was again different to that of Jonathan from BB8. After the show it seemed he didn’t appear to have further humbled or learnt any personal growth at least in the immediate years, becoming involved in an online trolling scandal on Twitter concerning Gary Barlow.
  • Tom: Another one that seemed a bit easily flippant in their reasoning to quit, but hey if they wanna go they wanna go I guess was Tom. He appeared to wise up to Noirin having a whole lot of unresolved baggage that would be more trouble than its worth, to appearing to be ‘getting to know’ her at the Big Mouth Reunion after Isaac pretty much immediately dropped Noirin again before the Series was out. Anyways That didn’t last, and now he runs a vitamins etc company and qualified as a Personal Trainer.
  • Noirin: Started out ok, She appeared to have some gumption about her from the go by taking on the eyebrows and glasses task like a champ, but soon as she because a bit of a magnet for the guys attention in the house, some insecurities really raised their head. To her credit, she was forthcoming with her intentions, although it came across fuzzy at times, or she wasn’t confident to be 100% assertive in that environment 24/7, which was exacerbated when things went pear shaped with both Siavash in those last weeks of her arc, and Isaac sweeping in which brought all her hang ups right into the face of it in an abrupt way. Apparently after the show she also dated Kris for a bit, but now has 2 kids with a husband in Dublin and likes interior design.
  • Isaac: Seemed goofy as anything but also like he had some weird pull over Noirin - even though they were ‘exes’. I might go and check out the backstory on The Real World Sydney etc at some point. After breaking up with Noirin - again, he went back to the US and now runs an online social media Travel community as an infuencer.
  • Hira: She seriously went under the radar for Week 7 and 8 because of all the Noirin stuff, only started coming back out with a major role in the Alice In Wonderland task and also winning the talent show with her ‘I Know You Can’ song. She might’ve gone further or been given a couple more weeks for potential if not for the dynamics of the vote to save switch for the Week 9 all up week. Anyways, she went on to continue fashion designing and also became a fitness guru/instructor.

BBUK10 Housemates wrap up Part C:
  • Freddie (Halfwit): Became one of the central characters of the season, with being up 5 weeks in a row at the beginning and also being one of the most eccentric housemates, having a few funny moments with his chilled out vibe which could also be very passionate and argumentative trying to explain his POV perhaps as he aspired to get into politics as well..He possibly could’ve gone all the way to the final, but the combination of his deteriorating alliance with Bea and running amok with Marcus and Siavash in week 10 might’ve played a part in the public having had enough of him to tip the vote in Marcus favour who was getting more of a comeback building. After the show, it seems he went back to doing software engineering.
  • Bea: At first I thought she would’ve turned out more like like Hira ended up, kindof the wallflower and ‘nice girl’ edit that wouldn’t be that explosive compared to the newbies particularly the guys, but then came out her sharp tongue in the diary room and melodramatic side. At first I thought she was fairly reasonably assertive, but then also She started doing a bit much like sticking her nose into Noirin’s business and trying to take the moral high ground, or being overtly harsh and blunt with Freddie’s emotional state which sent him for a loop. And then there was the whole thing with Nominating David and getting uptight about the messages from home which came off the wrong way to the public and villainising herself the more she tried to understand how she came across or try and rationalise it as well as when she was in the house to the others. To her credit, I think she just had a bit of an lack of awareness about how blunt she was, or how hypocritical it looked when she was calling others sensitive/negative/melodramatic but she was just as much in some moments or couldn’t handle it well when it was directed back at her. IYKWIM. She also returned to her job and now has a partner and a daughter.
  • Marcus: I think Marcus was one of the housemates this season that benefitted from escaping eviction through some of the twists/other housemates shooting themselves in the foot etc, and may have gone earlier had they not come out on the right side of those. He was one of the main rebels in the house, although he did go off on tangents a lot of the time against BB’s rules and authority, He started to regain a bit of entertainment value from it once Noirin left and he stopped moping. At first he seemed sympathetic compared to Sree not being able to handle Noirin’s rejection, but also with a touch of taking it too far and coming off lecherous when it came to Noirin and also the whole TMI about the ‘Graveyard shift’, although he played it off as knowing he wouldn’t get anywhere much with her unless she reciprocated but being bored and stuck in the house so why not just flirt and stuff anyway kinda thing. He also kept wanting to leave but not wanting to walk so he had that kinda aspect going too. After the show he got some parts in movies and is still posting rants on Twitter/X apparently.
  • Lisa: Similar to Marcus, despite being seen by the others as a big ringleader, particularly Freddie who often vocalised it against her accusing her of having a game plan which drove conflict, I think she did well to escape being up, that she was one of the last Originals to be up for nomination, as there were quite a few opportunities where she was prominent in conflict, such as the first week, The new housemates twist week where if the result was from normal votes and not because they revolted and targeted them, Lisa would’ve faced Charlie, although Lisa and Rodrigo were taken out and the newbies were up with the rest, but Kenneth escaped/walked so it was cancelled; and again if the week Hira went if it was Vote to evict her name was up there as a possibility. She did have a more rational and softer side though, which showed through with her being the somewhat queen of the Bus Stop with Karly and later David she was close buddies with, Lisa and David were great doing that outside London task together. After the show it seems she faded back to normality.

BBUK10 Housemates wrap up Part D:

  • Rodrigo: I thought he kindof went under the radar a little bit at the beginning, but then soon his explosive temper started flaring up, in particular during his ongoing friendship and clashes with Charlie. He also was close to Sophie, hanging with her after Kris left, at the reunion they were talking about possibly being housemates in Leeds. He also had a strong affection for the UK and the whole meeting the fake Queen task was a bit of a moment for him. He also showed signs of perhaps struggling with working himself out on a personal level although he had identified himself as Bi, after the show he transitioned as ‘Rebekah’ and now lives as a trans Woman, along the way though being the subject of some unaliving death hoaxes it seems and also as a few ex hm’s have done, appeared on Judge Rinder, and also Jeremy Kyle.
  • Charlie: He had some funny moments and was an early favourite to win, although he did get fired up and show another side during his stoushes with Rodrigo which came across whether he was a bit too much in winding him up or whether they both needed to chill IYKWIM. I don’t know whether it was mentioned elsewhere during the show but I also picked up on that they didn’t mention exactly what the nature of the situation was with his mother in the edit AFAIK until Davina brought it up during the finale interview, which perhaps could’ve drove a bit more sympathy votes, other than he would have used the money to help and left it at that kinda thing. Also in one of those last arguments with Siavash about being a game player and looking good to the public, then refusing to nominate in the final surprise noms was a bit of a weird look, but anyways. After the show he worked in a bank, but also had an assault incident where he was jailed for 21 months in 2014, and has apparently kept a low profile since.
  • David: He was entertaining and fun, also slotted cleanly into Lisa’s sidekick role after Karly left, but also in that same role did have a few somewhat stubborn moments such as arguments with Bea. He did well kindof similar to Sara from last season, coming Third in the final out of 5 original housemates. In the Big Mouth Reunion he said he took Vivienne Westwood to a pub for a drink? and apparently we’ll see him pop up again when I get to Channel 5 Era BB on Bits On The Side as Guest panellist.
  • Siavash: Like Marcus, he was instrumental in defying BB’s rules especially when it came to nominations, from mid series, and appeared to have a massive game plan going. I mentioned I’d thought this from Week 5 when he started with the whole Rabbit thing with Noirin. He really put his foot in it though when he decided to try and go for her in a showmance, and again after BB seemed to cave in to the housemates by removing the restriction on discussing noms with no apparent obvious twist or result in the final couple weeks, and making a rift in the house against him trying to vote count to make it ‘fair for himself to be up/everyone to be up, or as they saw it, trying to look good to the public to avoid eviction. I thought he might’ve gone then instead of Marcus, but he went on to wear the leotard to win the 10K for the prize fund and Sophie gave that money to him back apparently for Charity as he stated. After the show he returned to working in Fashion but also hasn’t been in the public eye much since.
  • Sophie (Dogface): The winner was one of the only things I already had knew/recalled about this season coming in, So on first impression to her entry VT I was a little unsure about how she would go (IIRC she came off perhaps a little typically airheaded model in parts and got a few boos?) but as the season went on, She showed that she was a bit of a ditzy blonde with fake boobs, but also didn’t come across intentionally inserting herself in overt bitchiness or anything (bar casually and perhaps inadvertently setting the fuse in things such as the Marcus hoarding cigs argument and nicking his cans of cider). Kris being evicted earlier on also freed her up to have more of her own journey with a few funny moments, although she didn’t start coming up more until a couple weeks after. After the show, she had a few high profile relationships and had a son in 2017. She recently does adult entertainment and modelling.

That should do it for now on BB10. Next a bit of an opening post on CBB7.

CBBUK7 (Jan 2010) Started.

Launch, First Big Mouth and BBLB eps recap:
  • Ok so first off, theres a significantly different theme and house spruce up for thsi one compared to its preceding civilian season as I mentioned. The Eye logo is based around a Fiery 'Eye Of Sauron' kinda similar style of thing from LOTR and the house decor is based around being a somewhat 'Hellish' theme.
  • The main entry room is a bit fancy, The bathroom has been remodelled, and the Kitchen expanded with an open entryway. The Kitchen itself is very metallic and looks like a restaurant (Gordon Ramsay 'Hell's Kitchen' vibes perhaps. Outside has a brick exterior, a side snug thats like a wooden hut, and a mini cooper kinda car in the garden that's decked out in red with devil horns and a tail.
  • The Bedroom has a purple theme with open mouth clown heads at the head of each bed. The Entry staircase is adorned with flames and the Diary room chair is a fairground carousel type seat with lights behind it.
  • The Celebrity housemates enter through an eye onto the stage to the left of the entry door this time, to some shirtless dancers and a song.

  • Stephen Baldwin is the first in, one of the American Celebrities for this season.
  • Dane Bowers has previously popped up on BBLB etc quite a few times. Similarly Basshunter also in the past season or so. Theres a bit of buzz in the papers around a recent incident involving Dane getting into a scrap at a New Years party that Alex Reid was also at. Dane has a bit of a mark on his head and rumours it was over Jordan/Katie Price, whom they've both had relationships with, so will there be any conflict arising from that in the house? They both reckon it was with someone else and Dane about something unrelated.
  • Also, not that up to scratch on my Im A Celeb UK knowledge, but there was mentioned of Alex popping over to Australia while she was here to propose to Jordan or something? was there some type of All stars season in 2008/9 cause wasn't she originally on with Peter Andre in like 2004 or something? Anyways.
  • Sisqo does a full half performance of 'Thong Song' before entering the house.
  • Nicola T seems to be pilling the 'page 3 girl' archetype for this season but also dosent seem that informed about who a lot of them are celebrity wise. Stephanie Beecham (used to be on Dynasty) seems fun and is trying to figure it out as Nicola asks if she's kinda like an actress, which Stephen finds hilarious. He also later mentions to BB that as a 20 years married man he has a stictly platonic crush on Stephanie and thinks she's wonderful.
  • I think I've heard the name Heidi Fleiss before but another American HM, very forthcoming about her couple years in prison for running an international prostitution ring, (Nicola asks if she has any kids and she's like 'no, thanks for abortion!' bluntly) now shes an entreprenuer with a dog grooming business and also a laundromat/bar.
  • Lady Sovereign ('Sov') I've herard of, and Katia seems to be filling the 'famous for being in a high profile relationship scandal' slot this year with the Riolling Stones guy. Vinnie Jones rounds out the bunch as another actor.
  • Their first task to win some champagne is 5 minutes to cram all 11 of them into the Devil car outside. They manage to do so. Alex tells Stephen the producers were considering allowing him to be evicted but remain as his crossdressing alter ego or something, he didnt pack any of those kinda clothes with him though. lol.

  • Big Mouth set hasnt changed much except for the theme scheme being Flames to match the aesthetic. First Guests were Jarred Christmas and David Gest (The 'David's Dead' guy isnt it? That must be a Ch 5 CBB coming up if its not this one haha). John McCririck was a launch night reporter VT, Musical guest So Solid Crew with Davina walking in to Another Level's 'Freak Me' (as Dane in the house).
  • BBLB set slightly spruced up with Lettering across the back wall and a fancier couch. Brian Belo in the corner of set in his 'bedroom' with some BB Facts, News segment is 'Hot News' They had Craig Phillips (BB1) do a VT about the house design, and they had Nikki Grahame (BB7), Heat Mag's Sam Delaney and Skins' Jake Pasquale on as guests the first ep.

    Onto the next few episodes!

No All Stars but they did bring Katie back for a 2nd run in the jungle. IIRC she left after being put through a number of consecutive trials. Kim Woodburn was also on her 2nd season.

CBBUK7 Week 1 recap (Up through Day 6 Special/Big Mouth)
  • Theres a couple missing daily episodes the first two weeks, so I might get through this first part a little quicker but still easy to piece together from the BBLB updates etc for now, those plus the last two weeks seem to be mostly there though. ;)
  • It’s Vinnie’s BDay and the housemates get a special task where he is stuck in the phone booth outside until they complete getting numbers from various tasks, such aas a group ‘celebrity equation’, Stephen setting off multiple mousetraps in the Diary room Task room, Alex bursting sauce filled balloons with a pointy mask, and Stephanie and Sisqo digitally searching chickens in the large task room. This is all to win a party for Vinnie.
  • Theres a few little asides and stories between them being told, Sisqo randomly bursting outv n song from time to time, Heidi talking about her time in Prison, and Jonas (Basshunter) giving some TMI about farting and self love, also about his tourette’s when he was at school.
  • Stephen being a bit kooky (trying to ‘teach’ Alex, the professional cage fighter a boxing technique that Mike Tyson apparently showed him), and evangelical in general and getting some set time to read the bible each day (which has been in a group setting recently) has started getting a bit annoying for some.
  • The particular reading of Genesis led to some very passionate debate and discussion that starts to reach a bit uncomfortable levels for some of them to leave the room, Stephanie wonders whether a different passage might’ve been less contentious.
  • OTOH Stephen has a few funny moments, like when he came to the diary room to discuss the laundry situation with Stephanie and she starts saying that He ‘Did her’ last night and Stephen is quick to clarify she means massage and is picking up Sisqo’s street lingo. LOL.

  • It starts snowing pretty heavily during the week, which blankets the garden in a heap of snow which they make some snowmen out of. Jonas and Katia appear to be getting closer and flirting but theres a whole lot of discussion between them and also outside the house whether they’re just friends, or She's not that into him that way but he is, The Ronnie breakup only happened about a month ago (Jonas thought Katia was on some TV show when she said ‘public relationship’) and has a new boyfriend (around her age) already, but is it just a rebound etc.
  • Anyways While Jonas is outside rolling snow, The ‘Tree of Temptation’ starts talking to him (little bit Surly flashbacks from BBAU Ch 9 era perhaps lol) and offers Egyptian cotton bedsheets for Stephanie if he completes a secret mission to sprinkle a bottle of sand encased in the tree in someones bed. He gathers everyone though and tells them about it, rather taking the punishment for refusing the task.
  • Jonas is called to the Diary room, must choose another housemate to share the punishment: he chooses Sov as she said she would be able to handle anything. The Punishment is to spend some time in the mostly empty large task room, with only a Bed with drawers, Sandwiches and apples, a chair, and Basshunter’s song ‘All I Ever Wanted’ played periodically every now and then on repeat as well as a laugh track.
  • Theres a mini ‘Hunk Off’ task for the guys which sees Vinnie mc it as a kinda beauty pageant and the guys dress up in mankinis and suits etc. Vinnie’s also been winding Alex up a bit, theres anticipation if there’ll be a blow up.
  • For the special episode, the housemates do some performance tasks such as stand up and a can can dance. Ivana Trump also enters as a surprise latecomer housemate. Again like LaToya last year and all the MJ jokes this should be interesting to watch the general discussion around in hindsight from the present day given how prolific Trump himself became in the political climate from about 2016 and beyond.

  • BBLB guests included Tom Allen and John McCririck (about the betting odds), Terry Christian with a confiscated items game, Tara PT and David Schneider doing a housemates roles in a castle game, Emma Willis on Webwatch, and Davina as well as others.
  • On Big Mouth they’ve started regularly checking the Big Mouth Twitter feed, NOT’!Lady Gaga’ does a recurring bizarro VT, also had one where Stephanie and Sov impersonators show their 'Gangsta' kinda style laundromat. Guest on the Day 6 show were Mark Fritz, Holly Walsh, John McCririck was back on with a really OTT cage fighting intro lol, and Example was the musical guest this ep playing out with ‘Won’t Go Quietly’ (I was familiar with that one around the time! bop).

    Onto the next few episodes!

CBBUK7 Week 2 Done
  • A Few more updates on Ivana’s entrance. It was part of a magic wardrobe act Sisqo was running. (They had guest magician Magic Bobby on the Sunday BBLB). They also sang Kyle & Jason’s Especially For You. There was also an outdoor mini task involving slingshotting paintballs.
  • The Tree of Temptation also got a mini interview on BBLB, with Rik Edwards present. This week It asked Alex to kick down the snowman to win some gym equipment time or something. Vinnie finally gets the bird to land in his bird plate. Heidi is thinking of walking, telling the others she better be nominated and who she voted for, which gets them put on basic rations/luxury food removed, however she later changes mind and decides to stick it out.
  • New Shopping task is the ‘Last Legs’ retirement home for celebrities, where Stephanie and Ivana as the eldest are the carers whilst the rest dress up in costume as pensioners and have to have all their meals pureed. This annoys Sov and also Vinnie has an issue with Ivana watering down the cheese. The Nominations are announced as Katia, Heidi and Sov. It’s a Double eviction Friday.
  • In addition to the main task they are set some challenges tasks. some of them play the game show ‘Countdown’ with the anagram lettered words. They also have a pensioner themed assault course.

  • Jonas and Alex do some sort of nude streak run outside. Jonas and Katia are getting kissy, but mid week she finds it a bit much and appears to dump him, saying they should stop what they’re doing. Katia also gets upset when Alex is joking around in the bedroom that Katia and Jonas could be the new Peter and Katie, but Katia just wants to be herself as her own thing, to which Jonas says well you are in here becuse you had a ‘public relationship’. They later apologise and some ‘innocent flirting’ appears to resume, to the others confusion.
  • Sov nicks a can of beans from the kitchen and hides it in the snug, which Alex and Vinnie later find and concoct a story that the Tree told them that if the culprit fesses up to BB, there wont be a punishment. Sov comes clean, but maintains she wasn’t going to eat it and jeopardise the task, just did it for fun.
  • Another part of the task is to complete a crossword, and its based on things they said about each other. Sov gets a bit annoyed at someone saying she wasnt doing herself favours with her hair (Stephanie), and gets up to read the clue, which Dane pipes up about not being necessary in case it constitutes a fail for assisting or something.

  • Dane has actually Ive found been starting to come out more in the edit recently. He’s also involved in a lights off bedroom discussion (lying in Ivanas bed for some reason with the bug net around it) with Nicola and Stephanie about if Jonas and Katia are ‘back on’ by saying out loud he thinks He’ll look an idiot and she’ll look like a dick’, without realising Katia was still in the room and hadn’t followed Jonas out to the garden. oooh.
  • Vinnie gets the shits with Sov again when she opens a tin of corned beef they were saving for the scheduled dinners to have early. He decides to let them learn their own lesson of if they run out they run out if theres not a planned system in place and they just have whatever whenever which puts others dinner plans out kinda thing, and he’s going to stop cooking. Dane with the help of Nicola, kinda takes over in meantime.
  • Alex appears to be beginning to have a bit of an Identity crisis, revealing he’s not sure who he is as a relatively ‘new’ celebrity status through his relationship with Katie (and I'm getting more of a picture about the timelines of this as we go on, the afters should be interesting), and reveals to the others he recently told the press he was gay for some reason (perhaps in the way he’s been talked about not having the best ‘relationship’ with the media sortof thing I guess, which is an interesting side.
  • What’s more is it seems to be feeding into Stephen being evangelical and taking him under his wing with some pretty full on analogies about terrorists kidnapping his kid and such, and its bringing up some interesting discussion on BBLB/Big Mouth calling Alex’s personality/ current apparent lack of direction into question whether he is the type of person thats easily manipulated and malleable to be perhaps more susceptible to religious/philosophical indoctrination etc IYKWIM.

  • Anyway back to the Kitchen drama, Vinnie tells Stephanie and Dane he’s kindof made his point now and proposes a house meeting to discuss going back to the original way they were handling the meal planning and food. Sov walks outside halfway through, saying ’she gets the gist’ but seems to be painting a target on her back.
  • Katia and Heidi are Evicted. Stephanie is surprised that Sov stayed, but tells Ivana maybe the public is enjoying the antagonistic side she is displaying. Vinnie said earlier that She seemed to start getting restless after being nommed, and maybe she’d settle after she didn’t go, but she also may have come off cocky with her immediate reaction after staying.
  • BB throws the remaining housemates a post Eviction party in the task room, where Ivana shakes her thing to Thong song and Basshunter’s ‘Now You’re Gone’ which is fitting for post eviction as the portraits of the evictees are indeed hanging on the wall. Also some balloons. Jonas appears to be pining after Katia a little bit saying he really did have feelings for her, but we’ll see if he gets his groove back in the next week. Sov tells Sisqo that she feels a bit singled out with the drama, But He tells her it might also be a winning the battle vs winning the war kinda thing. We’ll see how that goes next week, there is another eviction on Monday night though.

  • BBLB Guests included Scott Mills, Lethal Bizzle, Gordon Smart (he was also on Big Mouth with Terry Christian) predicting the noms, Vanessa Feltz & Rav Wilding had a Judge George skit.
  • Kyran Bracken & Lucy Pinder played a dancing on stuff judging game, Lucy and Brian Belo also did Weather and updates segments outside which George kept interrupting if they could hear him. Brian was also in the camera run later in the week which iirc might be the first time this season they’ve gone to the camera run?
  • Brian also had a couple ‘day in the job of the celebrity’ VT’s at Cage Fighting gym and a glamour photoshoot (featuring BB10’s Sophie). He also sang Thong Song as an outro.
  • Caprice had a Dragon’s Den esque segment, Friday’s set was done up like GMTV featuring Ben Shepard, a cooking segment with Nancy Lam, and Davina. Hot News was also 'GMBB Tepid News' this episode.
  • Big Mouth: They played a game with Heidi and Katia about guessing how much some of the housemates would get being pimped out lol. Musical guest was N-Dubz, featuring them also in audience during show.

    Onto the next few episodes!

CBBUK7 Week 3 Done
  • Again some missing dailies for the moment, but basically the first part of the week had the next round of nominations take place and the housemates found out through some fortune cookies that Nicola and Sov were up for Monday nights eviction. There was a task where Sisqo had to sing karaoke in the diary room whilst the others were on a spinny thing outside and got sprayed with various foods if he got a lyric wrong. One of the songs was ‘Saturday Night’ by Whigfield. Sisqo got given a hamper with a special ‘Key’ attached.
  • Another mini task saw Nicola and Ivana volunteer to be drawn in a life modelling session in flesh coloured underwear. Vinnie gets uppity at Sov and Stephens severe lack of effort in his eyes taking only 3 or so minutes to do theirs and reckons there should be a punishment from BB for it, and brings it up with him later to which Stephen reasons he’d rather quit early when he'd had enough than spend any more time and do a crap job because he knows he’s not a great drawer kinda thing. Ivana and Nicola get prizes (Nicola a photo from home) whilst The best painting was judged by George and Rik Edwards with Brian Belo on BBLB and given to Dane. I’ve also noticed alongside some of the editing techniques in the best bits this season they’ve started doing a few more montages with music in some of these task bits.

  • In other news Stephens started being kooky again commenting on Alex physique and Jonas walking around in his underwear. Meanwhile Vinnie has been able to attract the blue tit bird to the tree of Temptation by hanging a bag of nuts from its branch.
  • Sisqo has a humorous moment I thought in the diary room telling BB about how he’s observed Vinnie Stephen and Dane fawning over Alex and acting it out lol.
  • Sov is Evicted, and takes the key out of the house with her and tosses it to the crowd. This has ramifications for the rest of them. Whilst everyone is discussing Sov, Stephen poses them a question if it was a relatives child acting like she did, would they have had some empathy and tried to work it out with her. The others scoff and say they did try and Vinnie thinks Stephen is talking in riddles again and some of the others think he was aligning himself with Sov for a bit of airtime.
  • Immediately after the eviction, The housemates are put through a round of quick noms, 30 seconds each as they line up for the diary room. In a surprise, Stephanie nominates Ivana, and there ends up being a bit of a UK vs US slant to the results as Ivana, Stephen and Sisqo are all up for the Friday double.

  • This week was interesting in that there appeared to be no real shopping task of note? Instead, the housemates are ‘punished’ for Sov taking the Key and leaving the house with it, by the furniture getting replaced with benches (and the ones in the snug painted with honey), No Hot Water, hair equipment being switched off, and sugar and Salt swapped around. BB refuses to elaborate on exactly why at this point. The heating is also turned up in the bedroom, which later on gets Alex annoyed.
  • The bedding has also been changed over with a present at the foot of each bed, some contain chocolate except the nominees who get a message saying they are nominated. Stephen points out the weird fact its all the Americans, whilst Sisqo appears to take it weirdly, getting cocky and ‘in your face’ ing Vinnie and Dane and prancing around like ‘the Dragon’. He tells BB in the diary room the public should keep him in so that he can take on Vinnie’s apparent rule over the house.
  • The same night earlier Dane is kicking a blown up condom wrapped in towel as a football outside when the Tree of Temptation gives him a secret mission to end the punishments (and tells him why) by pouring a bottle of chilli powder into the dinner to ruin it. He tries to make ‘spicy Peppercorn sauce’ but it backfires as the rest of them end up enjoying it and complimenting him on the bit of kick it has. LOL.
  • The Tree gives him a second chance by waking everyone up loudly by having a ‘Nightmare’ and getting someone to hug him, which he succeeds with Nicola.

  • Thursdays daily was also missing, But Dane is secretly given the replacement Key to keep ahold of, there was also some type of mini task in the task room which involved putting meat parts back onto a mechanical Cow frame or something.
  • Meanwhile Vinnie and Sisqo get really snippy at each other as Vinnie overhears Sisqo mouthing off about him (in a half joking way about it being ‘Vinnie’s House’) and takes it really personally. the next day he even takes the welcome booklet to the diary room and asks BB to review the footage as he believes Sisqo’s commentary was offensive to the viewing public i.e. his family. BB kindof more or less talks him down as he is overreacting. Nonetheless Sisqo apologises to him in the Snug, blaming it on quitting smoking and having a bit too much to drink the other night and being up for eviction. He maintains in the diary room though that Vinnie can dish it out but cant seem to take it.

  • Dane inserts the key in a box in the diary room and enjoys a piece of cake as he decides who to give a Chocolate cake to later. He Chooses Stephanie by way of slapping her on the bum within minutes of leaving the diary room.
  • The housemates are given a ‘Tarts and Vicar’s party’ to celebrate Stephen’s 21 years of sobriety. Jonas dresses in Drag, whilst Alex opts for the Vicar’s outfit, although he wins a pink pair of panties in the pass the parcel game. There is also a fake dog poo that Nicola pranks Ivana with later by putting it in her bed. Stephanie is called to the diary room and gets the chocolate cake plopped on her. Telling the others about it, they are each called into the diary room one by one expecting the same treatment but it dosent happen until Stephanie is called back in for the gag later on. Dane knows what it was but chooses to keep quiet.
  • Day of the Friday double eviction, Sisqo is prancing around with his crown and banner won in the hunk off task, although the others discuss its pointless if its to rally votes as they wont show this part until tomorrow. Steph has a moment telling BB she will miss access to the Bible if Stephen is evicted, although BB reassures her it will still be available.
  • They all make up a song about the eviction. BB gives them an IKEA flat pack assembly challenge and gives Jonas an outfit and a secret mission to sabotage the task. He succeeds, and after the eviction (in which Stephen and Sisqo are evicted) they win a Swedish Spa and massage table out in the snug.

  • On BBLB Guests included they had much use of Jedward (from X Factor 2009) during the week, singing Ghostbusters with Brian Belo, in the camera runs and helping/talking to the task department, doing an obstacle course outside, and topping it off appearing on the second ep of Big Mouth at the end of the week.
  • Holly Willoughby was in the audience one ep. They also had the soccer am guy Tim Lovejoy on, and Barry Fry (who went into the house task room to give them all a locker room style pep talk earlier in the week). Who also had Sov trying to kick goals through her ‘vibe assassin’ nominator’s faces on a board as the outro of one episode.
  • Dave Schnieder did some tasting games about Sugar/Salt and Dane’s hot sauce, Lamb Investigates also poured some of the food items to see which made the biggest mess. Olivia Lee did a stars in their eyes style mini skit about her impersonation of Stephen, Preston was back playing a ‘annoying meter’ game, to name a few.
  • The Monday Big Mouth was interesting as it had Boyd Hilton Sov and Michelle Heaton as guests (also girl group ‘Fe-Nix’ as musical guest, I enjoyed their song they sang ‘Swagga’). Not only that, but apparently Katie Price was also in the audience, but refused to come on camera and you can see them reacting to her or looking in her direction. She did speak through Michelle to say that she’s still supporting Alex. His D-grade film ‘Killer Bitch’ he has starred in also had some short VT clips played lol. John McCririck also popped in, whilst Friday’s Episode had Jarred Christmas, Jedward, Stephen and Sisqo, and also Sisqo with yet another short snippet performance of Thong Song with a small person who also had some type of ‘Christmas’ stage name. ‘Envy’ played out as musical guest with song ‘Friday Night’.
  • It's now switched to vote to win with the next eviction on the Wednesday followed by the Friday Finale next week.

    Onto the next few episodes!

You're flying through it now. See it was around July 2022 you started - that's a heck of alot of Big Brother in 2.5 years - at a rough count around 1000 days worth. Would be interesting once you complete BB11 and Ultimate BB to read your thoughts on the C4 era as a whole.

CBBUK7 Finale Week recap:
  • The finale week began with another Tree Of Temptation task, For Nicola, who had to ‘tell and kiss’ each of the housemates on the cheek after saying something about them they might like to hear such as telling Ivanka she looked like a giant orange in her tracksuit or comparing Jonas to Roland Rat or Dane to Danny DeVito. Vinnie is the last one she needs and initially tries to evade the kiss but ends up letting Nicola, who won a video message from home in the diary room.
  • Later the housemates were given a Charades game task for Celebrity embarrassing faux pas moments and time sleep in for every one they got right. One of them was about Boy George getting arrested, which I later saw that he was in the running to be a housemate this season, but couldn’t appear because of a current legal exclusion.
  • They won an hour 10 mins lie in, but BB decides to be a bit evil and wakes them up a bit early anyway, playing Rick Astley’s ‘Together Forever’ as the alarm, in anticipation for the latest task which is the chained together task. Dane & Alex find it hilarious that Vinnie & Ivana have been put together, whilst Steph, Jonas and Nicola form a trio.
  • Dane as the Key keeper is given a secret reward by BB in the diary room. At night, choosing another housemate to go with him, they can access a secret room next to the snug (where the BB10 lounge area was), which has been remodeled as a hang out with pizza and video games, which is good he chose Jonas, as that’s right up his alley haha.

  • The following day there was another task, kinda similar to the fake queen from BB10. Ivana was told she was nominated for a businesswoman award from the Scandinavian show ‘Kugel Fresh’ and told to prepare to go and live cross her acceptance speech if she wins. The others are told that they must make Ivana believe it’s real. They use Jonas to say he’s aware of it to help buff up its legitimacy.
  • The housemates are shown Ivana winning and recording her speech on the tv screen. For the 2nd part of the task they are told they must ‘spoil’ Ivana’s win by rubbishing the award, 3 of them had to drink from it, and one them has to smash it, which they elect Stephanie to pull off. However Stephanie prematurely smashes it by dropping it in the bedroom, although the others still find a way to safely drink Joyce from a suitably shaped shard and complete the task.
  • Stephanie has to come to the diary room to compose herself as she has the giggles, then puts on an act that she feels bad to which Ivana tells her not to beat herself up it’s fine kinda thing. When all is revealed Ivana says she kinda had the feeling it was fake from the start.
  • They win an awards night party in the task room where they give each other joke awards and get a goodie bag, Jonas and Nicola hilariously helping Alex apply his fake tan spray in the bathroom all around his ass, with an audience of the rest of them looking on LOL.

  • Another task was clay sculpting blindfolded a bust of Lionel Richie as seen in his music video for ‘Hello’. Vinnie wasn’t feeling up to it so sat the task out in the bedroom with the shutter down. That’s because, during the task, they had a Lionel impersonator enter the room and judge Stephanie’s as the winner, BB telling them Lionel came in the room while they were sculpting.
  • The last Tree of Temptation task was for Vinnie to tell Alex he had done crossdressing before and liked it, and to tell the others how much he’d bonded with them all and get emotional about it. He passed and got to watch the FA Cup match in the mini task room.
  • To set up for the double eviction, the housemates were given another task to dress up in farm animal costumes and they couldn’t talk except for the eviction or inside the pen. They weren’t too thrilled about it being on Eviction night.
  • Ivana was evicted, then in a surprise back door eviction, Nicola was second through the diary room in her chicken outfit, and Davina after the interview entered the house for a prank in her place!
  • It’s awkward as though as the no talking and frantic way Davina started darting around the house had them twinging off that it wasnt Nicola straightaway, and the guys were a bit imposing trying to figure out who she was while Davina could only go ‘tweet’ trying to figure out what to do, racing back to the diary room to talk to BB/live cross to Big Mouth, which was hosted by Emma Willis, with John McC and Matt Edmondson on as guests and Skepta singing ‘Bad Boy’
  • Eventually BB reveals the joke though (after Davina gained some respite laughing with Stephanie and sitting with Jonas as the Pig outside fora. bit) and Davina exits the house. It could’ve also perhaps been cool if she stayed the final day or two and did like Dermot did with hijack and did the finale from inside, walking out with the winner, but Davina said she wouldn’t have stayed overnight and was satisfied with ticking the box of her short stay as a ‘guest housemate’ for the absurd prank of it all haha. she might’ve also had too much info about the outside and their perceptions being so involved with the show even if it was almost the end anyway to have any type of chill conversation with the others during the downtime of the final days iykwim (or maybe could’ve delivered some home messages before dipping out or something?) But what we got was fine for what it was I thought.

  • The finale first part is also missing for now, but Stephanie, Jonas and Vinnie come out, then it’s between Dane and Alex, with Alex winning, pulling off quite the turnaround in his public perception. Also a surprise for me because I can’t recall if I had seen the winner for this season in passing before, but I was thinking that Dane might’ve took it out. More on that in Alex’s after story wrap up which was also interesting.
  • The last Big Mouth had one of the Dead Set actresses on as guest along with Tina Malone, I also spotted Preston in the Big Mouth Audience and of course the season’s housemates. Davina also got Katie Price to come on, and the outro musical guest was Brian Harvey from East 17 singing It’s Alright’.
  • BBLB Had Sam and Mark doing a bit of judging ‘BB Idol’ on singing in the house, doing an obstacle course outside team Stephen vs Sisqo. Brian Belo had VT’s being posh like Stephanie, Acting like Vinnie, and Playing a master my mind game with Nicola. He also dressed up in a dragon costume in a bizarre unleash the Dragon’ game with Sisqo whenever he got a question wrong (or George would just bring him in lol).
  • Pussycat Dolls’s Kimberly Wyatt judged who had eaten the least Pie for celebrities in eviction prediction, There was an episode dance out to Rick Astley with Ivana, Nicola, George and Brian, and Dave Schneider was back on the final BBLB with most of the ex-hms this season.
Next Overall Season thoughts + Housemates

CBBUK7 Overall:
  • I thought this one will rank high up in the listing now I’ve completed the Channel 4 CBB’s. Again it was cast really well, even some of the housemates that initially blended in (Dane and Sisqo) started coming into their own as the weeks went on (also an extra week this time), and you also had a really good arc through with Alex.
  • It was also done well having more of a distinct theme of its own compared to minor modifications on the house directly before it. A Funny side note which I’ll touch on in the BB11 opening post, but It was funny even with the Hell and flames overall theme, you still had the fancy furniture, and the clown headed beds/Diary room decor.
  • The addition of The Tree Of Temptation was an interesting one too that made for some funny scenarios.
  • Also what seemed to place less emphasis on weekly shopping tasks after the first two weeks, and more individual tasks or daily tasks, also the whole ‘Key’ saga was a fun twist. To top it off, seeing Davina go in for a bit was great as well.
  • Also going back to one on one eviction interviews but also some slight editing and presentation flourishes and stuff I noticed were cool as well.

    Next: Housemate wrap ups

CBBUK7 Housemates Part A:
  • Katia Ivanova: She had the ‘famous for being in a scandalous relationship’ tag and although she wanted to break out of that and be her own person, she kindof got herself into the ‘innocent flirting’ with Jonas that everyone pounced on, not being a good look that she had a ‘boyfriend’ on the outside that was a rebound fling at best by the sound of it, coupled with both herself and Jonas being flippant about whatever was going on and she also didn’t seem that interested in pursuing anything.
I think she got a bit of a hard time when the public became a little too over-analytical about it and over-invested IMO. Anyways can’t find much info on where shes at now, perhaps faded back out of the public eye.
  • Heidi Fleiss: She had some entertaining moments (when she wasn’t lazing around, and started to get more involved after initially thinking she’d had enough. Interesting backstory, She’d been on a few other Celebrity reality shows and such before CBB, afterwards she also appears to not have popped up much. Sh didnt have much margin over Sov in that first eviction, however if she’d stayed who knows if she would’ve been next out like Sov was.
  • Lady Sovereign: One of the ones that stirred up some drama in those first weeks with her antics around helping out around the house. Apparently she came out during the show but it didn’t make the edit. I’m familiar wit some of her songs iirc (particular the one that samples The Cure) but it appears she to date hasn’t put out any music since 2009.
  • Stephen Baldwin: Gave this season the kooky factor with the preaching and all that fit in well with this seasons theme. It was a little intriguing to watch that unfold with his interactions with Alex, and some of the others like Vinnie and Nicola. Before CBB he appeared on a few Celeb reality shows, and also afterward, as well as movies and TV. Justin Bieber is also now of course his Son in Law.
  • Sisqo: Started off a little in the background but then ramped up with the stuff with Vinnie and being nominated, which may have factored into his eviction. After the show he released more music solo and with Dru Hill (an album in 2010) and also other TV shows such as representing Maryland when the US put on its Eurovision style show ‘American Song Contest’ in 2022.
  • Ivana Trump: Got along well with Stephanie, and got involved with the tasks, most notably the fake award one which she took in good humour. She also did well to pass the double eviction against two guys. She passed recently in 2022. As previously mentioned, it was interesting watching this back from now when we know what happened after with Donald Trump (and still has a chapter about to begin).
  • Nicola T: Got accused of being a floater by some, She also did well to not be nominated or booted first as a few of the other page 3 similar girls have done in the past. She apparently did a song with Coolio later in 2010 called ‘Drunk’ and also was on a charity single with some other celebrities. As of The Sun's 2020 article she’s still with Simon and had another baby around 2019. She’s also been on a WAGs edition of Come Dine With Me.

CBBUK7 Housemates Part B:
  • Stephanie Beacham: She also like Ivana had a good sense of humour and got involved in the tasks, also got on well with Nicola despite initially being a bit wary about her. She has continued acting in TV and Movies.
  • Jonas Altberg (Basshunter): He got weighed down a little by the whole Katia thing in the beginning I thought, but started coming up after she left and getting along with the Dane/Alex/Vinnie crew. It was also interesting to hear some of his backstory. He also appeared on UK Weakest link apparently and BB Sweden 2011. He’s also released more music since as well. I was familiar mostly with ‘Now You’re Gone’ the song.
  • Vinnie Jones: Was a bookie favourite at the start, but I think the more he got frustrated and uppity at times as it went on, he kindof fell out of the contention a bit with the public. Still he had some funny moments where he got right into the tasks and stuff and even crawled across the bedroom floor to prank Alex etc. He’s also continued acting in Film and TV since.
  • Dane Bowers: As mentioned before; a bit quiet at the start but came into his own at first taking the kitchen mantle temporarily from Vinnie then stepping up with the tree of temptation challenge etc. Also getting along with Alex whom I think expectations at the outset was for them to not get along over Katie. After CBB he did put out some more solo music, but since then also did a supergroup ‘5th Story’ as part of The Big Reunion show, and more recently another one doing covers called ‘Boyz On Block’.
  • Alex Reid: had quite the journey arc from where he was getting booed going in, and his perception in the public eye/media. It was interesting to watch that throughout his time in the house as both a fairly ‘fresh’ celebrity status thrust upon him by his relationship with Katie Price, and her own relationship with the media. This whole thing which is kinda a catch 22/grey area between being seen as ‘baiting the media’ vs any expression of disliking the attention being ungrateful kinda thing because if it weren’t for them covering you, thats most of the reason you’re famous (alongside being ‘Jordan’s new bloke’) being a fine line to walk iykwim. But otoh the UK media is known for sometimes being particular cutting and harsh so theres that.
Still, He came out of it with the title and showing another side to him, and although the not long after marriage to Katie didn’t last, It was interesting to read that he dated Chantelle from CBB4 and they had a child together, and he’s had a couple more with his current fiancé. He also did a bit more acting in a series called ‘Drifters’.

    Next: BB11 Launch thoughts (tomorrow).

BBUK11 (2010) Started:
BBUK11 Launch:
  • BBLB had a pre launch show for the first time in a while. Emma Willis has joined George as a co-host this season. Giving us a sneak peek of the garden area and the ‘Nest’ which looks like its gonna be this season’s snug/treehouse/bitchfest area haha.
  • It’s also tied into the way they’re doing the entrance of the housemates this time, Several of them may have already briefly interacted at Auditions, but the 81 that have made the shortlist have spent the last day or so coming in and mingling getting photos done etc waiting to find out who Big Brother has picked on the Launch show itself. They have a number out of a tombola draw to chat to a few of them on BBLB (this is relevant for later as well).

  • Opening titles the eye is a floral design, the rest of it has a kindof carnival/slightly clockpunk kinda thing going on. Theres a few banners and flags adorning the house, and the entry staircase on the outside turns to face the front wall of the house at ground level, the crowd is back behind that. The screen is on the side of the house, not sure if the one to the left of front door where the finale stage was for CBB7 will return for evictions, we’ll see.
  • Inside the stairwell is similar but it only has one staircase leading down from the landing to the diary room and - the partition is encased in perspex and its see through. The bedroom is just off to the side of that and so its the bathroom once through the perspex, bathroom has some nice wallpaper and a clear shower, and the bedroom has a kindof crystal spires and togas esque kinda slant to it IMO too.
  • Diary room chair also kindof breaks away from the carnival theming somewhat having golden wings - reminds me a little of BBAU11 in 2014 actually, also I had a thought that the CBB7 Diary room and BB11 one could’ve swapped as they kinda fit each others theme (like the diary room could’ve been the refuge and ‘heaven’ from the hell house or something).
  • But, otoh I like that it’s not all the one thing (i.e carnival aesthetic) at the same time and, iykwim it could also kinda work being be in anticipation of UBB, which was confirmed by Davina is going to be concurrent with BB11 - the winner of BB11 after 11 weeks stays in the house - the final 2 weeks are UBB (I think I recall hearing about that before in relation to UBB promo back then actually).

  • The Tree of Temptation is back - and BB21’s throwback now makes sense in the form He has returned in - a chest of drawers. And the location? The Bathroom, which further points to channel 9 getting inspiration for Surly considering thats where ToT has turned up this season, ready for more secret shenanigans.
  • Not only that, but theres a ‘Bobby’ or whatever his name is kinda like those fortune telling etc booth things in the lounge, and a ‘Davina Macaw’ on a perch - Wonder how they will play into things - like Davina’s voice comes out of the Macaw on eviction night or something perhaps? Watch this space.
  • The lounge is wide and circular, Kitchen off to the side containing also the dining table.
  • Outside its back to a bit of a whirlpool sized pool, theres also another shower out there, and some carousel horses next to the Nest as an additional hangout.

  • BB selects the housemates and they go in one by one, also Davina finally does a bit of meeting them before they go in while the VT is played. Shabby is OTT, ‘Sunshine’ seems a bit high maintenance. We’ve got another Aussie here with John James, Theres a Beyonce lookalike in Rachael, Dave is dressed in a monk outfit and is apparently really into the religious stuff, Ife was a dancer for Cheryl Cole on X Factor.
  • Lastly theres another twist - the 14th housemate will be randomly selected by Davina from the tombola and given an ‘impossible task’ to remain a housemate. Oh its another Mario. He’s got to successfully be a Mole, however, he is dressed as an actual mole costume with a big sign around his neck saying ‘I AM A MOLE’. Geez going for the reverse psychology here. He must also sleep in some kindof Mole burrow (which is somewhere in the garden I haven’t figured out the layout fully quite yet). However he thinks up some kinda story real quick about how they blindfolded him and put him in the costume with no explanation. The Tree of Temptation will give him his first task a bit later.

  • BBLB main set is very spacious, I think they might be going back to the no regular BBLB audience style of it from BB2-6 in various combinations - they have a spot from across the way overlooking the house that reminded me a little bit of the towers at Bow in BB2, Emma Interviewed Sophie (BB10) in front of the house, Whilst George spoke to Carol McCliffe from Loose Women near one of the monitor areas, then they all came back to the spacious main area which now has a panel desk for the final segment with Dr Funke. We’ll see how this continues though the season.
  • Big Mouth Set also got a slight palette change, theres some yellow/black and Pink/Light Pink panelling and columns with some shiny silver obelisk type things around as well, a bit of a latticed roof with some lighting shining, and over to the side they had in the first ep Tom Allen doing the socials/twitter feed monitoring. Guests were Lee Ryan from Blue and Tim Westwood, Nikki Graham played a folk song on guitar as a little side skit, and Davina crossed to John McCririck on ‘Channel Poor’ (BBLB set) ruffling up the reminder of the shortlist that didn’t get in (for now, maybe some might come back for Intruder selection perhaps haha). Thee was also a cross to Tree of Temptation. Professor Green was the musical guest playing out the episode.

Yeah, I've done pretty well, I did take some breathers between now and then as well as during, also the first couple were easier as it was less intensive with the combo of episode/season length, extra shows and whatnot which increased as it went.

But, I also think from here its kindof tightened up a little bit again (only one Big Mouth ep most weeks, no more Diary Room uncut (skimming through)/On The Couch as a separate episode, those extended BBLB's have reduced back to Sunday only etc) plus Ive been able to streamline those with things like watching a couple Dailies ahead first then being able to skim past a lot of repeated stuff in BBLBNews (although occasionally there'll be a scene or few that didn't end up in the edit) etc on the way back through.

I'm anticipating it might be easier again going into C5 - depending on how engaging I find whatever format Bits On The Side takes form in. I think I took a glance at a random first few eps length from BB12 and it looks like its a 45 minute - hour long iirc - not sure if thats a regular length what was it every day of the week like BBLB?
I might watch the first few then skim through and just cover what I find interesting or if Channel 5 starts to get a few entertaining recurring guests like C4 era has - but we'll see. I know Emma follows it over, then iirc takes over hosting the main show from Brian Dowling like someway through BB13 is that right?

Also I noticed just looking up episode lists (and to get a general idea of some season lengths I've got left to go) theres a few other side shows with acronyms apart from BOTS for some seasons like:

'OkTV' - as far as Ive been able to ascertain this was some type of panel show only done in CBB8
'LftH' - A streaming block thats present in most Ch 5 CBB seasons apart from CBB12

theres one I haven't been able to figure out though (but wont be long until I get to it) which is something called 'BTO' in BB12.

Anyways, jumping back to BB11 :)
