Ava Mishy David is a 29 year old transexual from Victoria. Ava was the first intruder for the 2012 series and entered on Day 29.

A problem comes when people decide a housemate is having a negative effect when really they are having a neutral effect to most of the house and a positive effect to a few. Ava for instance has had a big positive effect on Josh and Estelle but for everyone else she's done nothing to do anything negative.

Yet these people complaining about her are generally the same people who clap and cheer and bend over backwards with logic to defend a housemate who deliberately goes out of their way and seeks to have a negative effect on other house mates. To create a negative environment.

These housemates are thrown together in a house, it's not someones fault they don't get along gangbuster with everyone and laugh and play and be chummy. Basically these people are Ava and Estelle. Yet they completely tolerate and are fine with the fact they aren't besties with everyone. It's not a problem. I think this really gets to a core part of peoples problems with them. They are content. As awkward as someone says Estelle is. She is content to find her own place. Ava simply doesn't care if she's not friends with everyone. She's there to enjoy it, not to be negative or to get negativity.

It's like those that complain about Estelle having a negative effect because she eats healthy and it annoys people. No that is the house mates letting themselves be annoyed. They're having a negative effect on their experience. It's the same with people complaining about Ava. She doesn't have to necessarily do anything positive. However not doing that is not having a negative effect. It is not up to certain house mates to decide if someone is doing the right thing by them, to get approval. Not getting approval is different than earning disapproval.

This is where it gets into sheep house mates and conforming. People in the house and some viewers can't get over the fact people are content being themselves. Content not trying to be popular and aren't letting this ruin their time. As opposed to most others in the house doing the opposite. Who often seem to react against that good attitude to try and actually provoke and upset them.

People decide a HM has a negative effect because they see something in that HMs behaviour they don't like and are usually able to find evidence in how other HMs react to them. If someone is being complained about then it stands to reason they're having a negative effect. Of course, if you want to bend over backwards in defence of the complained about HM then you find yourself having to assert that all the HMs are expressing their annoyance purely out of some wanton desire to harm another for no reason.

Some forum members like to argue that a HM "goes out of their way and seeks to have a negative effect on other house mates". Some like to argue that a HM is the reincarnation of Hitler or that a HM is lacking as a person because they don't drive. I guess hyperbole can be appealing. That's fine as it is. It's hardly surprising to find that forum members will disagree with these assessments. That doesn't mean they are bending over backwards to defend HMs "deliberately causing negative effects" or being Hitler's reincarnation because they don't accept these assertions in the first place.

As awkward as someone says Estelle is. She is content to find her own place. Ava simply doesn't care if she's not friends with everyone. She's there to enjoy it, not to be negative or to get negativity.

Only Ava and Estelle are content to find their own places in the house? HMs are there "to be negative or to get negativity"? In a BB house, locked in 24/7, someone ignoring most of the HMs is going to stir a negative effect. It may not be intentional but there you are. She comes across as snooty. Her lack of broad interaction renders her kind of boring to us. She sounds pretentious. HMs react to that. They don't force themselves into neutral responses. Good.

Estelle exhibits a holier than thou attitude that has a cumulative effect. It may well be completely unfair that in the instance of stating her preference for vegetables she received a negative response. Welcome to the world of personality clashes. I guess the result of a holier than thou attitude is some people actually buy that she's holier, at worst only neutral and everyone else is at fault for not getting along with her. Some of us don't buy into that.

This is where it gets into sheep house mates and conforming.

Not really, but it sure would if HMs only ever acted neutrally towards each other even when they felt their cohabitants were pissing them off.

Could Estelle know who Ava is, and is the reason why she took such a 'shine' to her, a bit like how in previous BB's, Ben knew who Michael Crafter was. Only think time, Estelle hasn't come out and explained it to everyone, for whatever reason.

I don't agree with you.

Not at all.

I pride myself on learning and growing and I feel thankful that many posters in here are helping me add to my vocabulary by inadvertently teaching me new words on a daily basis.

I love reading a well written post, and I in no way feel self concious if there is a word in it I don't understand and I certainly don't find the need to attack or insult those who I feel are more educated than me.

When given the opportunity, always seek to improve yourself. If you are anything like me, you will find education is in fact a progressive discovery of your own personal ignorance.

There is a definite power in always looking at ways to improve yourself, because when you know better, you do better.

thats what i thought. estelle and ava had a one on one conversation several days back, in which estelle implied she knew something about ava, but wasnt going to bring it up, to which ava replied 'thats why i love you.' i mentioned this in another thread, it sounded so cryptic. there is something going on.

also Friday nite's DS, angie and estelle engaged in a similar discussion, angie thought estelle had worked out the secret about ava but wasnt going to share. estelle went along, hi-fived angie, hard to tell if she was playing dumb or what.

Ava never said in so many words that she is famous as such. She expended a number of words describing that she was used to what she termed a "princess complex" and hinting that she was used to being treated well. The HMs took this to imply she might be famous but as none of them had previously heard of her, started to ask if she had fame.

I'm thinking along the same lines, supermonster. I keep thinking of Benjamin saying how easy it is to make things sound better than they are. When Ava said "especially when things aren't signed", it doesn't mean that anything is close to being signed, or indeed will ever be signed. Also she used the word "may" a lot. May, may not.

As for a sense of entitlement, do you get that from being Jewish and living in the diaspora? Or did she say that her sense of entitlement came from something else, like her princess complex or her "craft"?

Well done to the person who found out that a few housemates worked for the same modeling agency. There might be more still who are just on the books.
