I think the funniest thing about it was that after the conversation Ava seemed satisfied that she's put all of the hm's in their place of serfdom with her "Bow to me, I'm more important than you" speech when in actual fact they all walked off thinking she was a massive tool. I really don't think her little monologue had the anticipated effect. Especially the bit about "Ask me anything", which they did and then she completely skirted the questions. I think she did herself more damage both inside and outside the house than she would have if kept her mouth shut.

I googled her too, but I didn't find anything which was not to do with BB.
As Michael said "are you sure she is 29?". I know some people have speculated she has a recording contract but she is 29, if she had any talent at all, she would be famous by now, and we've heard her sing and she is average at best. Tere have been plenty of TV talent shows in the last 10 years, so if she had any talent, she would be famous already. She is clearly not famous, I'm guessing it is a rich daddy complex

I think Ava was described in some Victorian paper as being "an up and coming television presenter" but that doesn't really justify the whole attempt at being intriguing; the secretive open-book, anonymous famous person with a humble elite complex.

They can all be classified in the DSM, and outing Aspie Brad as having a neurological condition has put him off limits for a lot of the forum sociopaths here.
Estelle has being described as showing several personalities, is she multiple personality, and is this the result of horrific childhood abuse? Does this mean romance is a long shot?

Wasn't it that she had high status "in her world" meaning her native land... so she comes from money and fuck knows if you have money in Thailand, Indonesia or Phillipines your life is massively different to the vast majority, impoverished developing world. I think that's what she meant, i.e. her family has servants. She went to private school, perhaps international grammar. She's very articulate.
For starters, she's of Mauritian and Peruvian descent. Not South East Asia.
She doesn't have an Accent and was probably born in Australia or at least raised her.
She's from Melbourne and "in her world" probably just refers to the social group and social scene she hangs out in. There's plenty of different social sub cultures in Melbourne. All with their own scene. That'd most likely be what she's referring to. In her life, when she goes out, the people she mixes with are quite different to the people in the Big Brother house. Her place in the Big Brother house is always quite a different one than her one in her social scene. So obviously her place and how she is treated is differently. Instead of being a cool popular person in her scene, she's on the outer of the BB social scene.

Ava made a dick of (for?) herself again on last night's DS (ep #41). Or did she? I must say, I have a sneaking appreciation for the utter listless ennui on display as she barely expended the energy to so much as brush her teeth in a seeming act of defiance to all notions of team work or participating in a reality game show.
She simply couldn't be bothered with the mundane business of their food budget dependant task. She was quite literally dragged into it. Angie had to dress her. Ava decided she'd play useless rag doll.
I'm not surprised there's no team spirit as she's not been bothered to be amongst the HMs generally. But her listless effort also effects the two HMs she's actually taken an interest in, Josh and Estelle.
Ava's effete display was so in your face that even Estelle was forced to grapple with understanding it. Her and Angie were discussing the possibility she's doing it on purpose as a mini task. No. girls, you're wrong. She just doesn't give a shit.
So I'm left to wonder, is she making a dick of herself, or has she brought punk attitude into the house?

I'm thinking it's because she had to walk there on her own steam. Surely her tiny little leg muscles must be completely atrophied by now since Josh has carried her since she came in. They'd better have a wheelchair for her on Tuesday.

Ava never said in so many words that she is famous as such. She expended a number of words describing that she was used to what she termed a "princess complex" and hinting that she was used to being treated well. The HMs took this to imply she might be famous but as none of them had previously heard of her, started to ask if she had fame overseas.
There was some household scuttlebutt guessing, somewhat randomly as far as I can tell, that Ava's star shone in Ukraine. When questioned directly about fame and what might be the cause of it, Ava becomes elusive.
Some effort has been made here to track down what fame, if any, Ava might be said to enjoy. The results so far have not turned up much.
At this stage no one can say in which country her putative fame lies.

It's an interesting observation in it's abstraction, I suppose. It's also a rather self serving observation couched in a way to make yourself look like the good HM fan while denigrating those who think differently. Your thinking appears to be structured by an assumption that your observations are objective facts, identifying authenticity in a preferred HM and pathology in the disdained ones, and then ascribing attributes to the fans of each. By a happy coincidence you find yourself on the side of good, defending a HM for "being themselves" and conversely, those who support the wrong HM as defenders of "negative effects".
The reality is that we are all sharing opinions about HMs as they appear to us. To one person a HM is being him or herself. To another they are playing the game. There are HMs complaining about Ava. As far as I'm concerned, she's being herself and having a negative effect.
I'm not greatly interested in how much she's being herself or having a negative effect, however. My engagement with her (as with any HM) is rather more to do with how her persona comes across, how she relates to the other HMs and how much entertainment she yields. I'm totally uninterested in ascribing moral failings in fellow forum members for their HM allegiances.
This sentence says it all right here. I'm so tired of so many posts containing personal attacks because someone doesn't happen to agree with someone else's opinion. It's ludicrous.
