Australian Survivor Ratings

Wednesday: 329,000 viewers nationally.
That's a new low - so what will Ten do now? Shift Survivor to one of the secondary channels, or limit it to Ten Play? These sort of numbers are unacceptable, even when they have to take on the MAFS empire in the same timeslot, and Aussie Idol is doing good numbers for Seven in 2nd place.
I could have warned them that dumping JLP would be counterproductive in terms of ratings and the continuing loyalty of the Survivor fanbase in this country, and the further irony? One reason given for replacing JLP with David was "falling ratings" - hmmmmmm
We all knew this would happen. It won't get bumped as frankly they've nothing better to replace it with.

It needs to go back to Q3. I get why it airs against MAFS but seriously TEN are doing this to themselves.
It's been doing fine in Q1 for years - a long way behind MAFS of course but has held up well year after year till now.
No surprise Ten are already airing promo ads for the next season of Masterchef.
Each show only seems to exist to promote the next.

Yeah, its beyond a doubt that the decision to axe JLP as host has cost them a lot of their regular audience - probably the dumbest decision Ten and Paramount Plus programmers have made in recent years, they've effectively sabotaged their own franchise - and for what reason? That still hasn't been adequately explained.
JLP will have the last laugh if as rumoured he takes over from Jeff Probst as host of the U.S Survivor franchise.

Are those numbers quoted including catchup? A lot more people would be on catchup these days than before. If that’s including catchup then that’s a bit dismal.

I’m really missing the Jury Villa episodes. It’s definitely not like in its hayday. Don’t get me wrong, the challenges have been incredible this year. The editing, sound production is strong. But the JLP thing was a bit rude in the way it was done & leaves a sour taste.

They’re obviously cutting costs in a few areas which is, I guess, to be expected.

454,000 last night - the highest overnight of the season. The episode that aired against the MAFS Finale last year had 615,000.

I gave up watching most of the show after Feras won.

I think people are over have former players on the show with newbies.

If they have returning contestants back, make it all the contestants returnees.

By the posts here & elsewhere, this years contestants were boring.

I saw who the returning contestants were & I couldn't stand them when they were on the show the first time.

I avoided the finale, zero interest really, David Genat might have improved as the season progressed but he's no JPL, that was patently obvious from the start. And the casting this series of the contestants - another minus for me. The only returnee I was interested in seeing again was Brooke. The overall winner, Caleb - ugh!

Only 314k for the reunion too. Meanwhile Idol was slightly up.
That goes to Australian Idol which averaged 1.09m viewers across its extended episode, up on 2025’s 1.07m.

That was over double Australian Survivor‘s 462,000 well down on 2025’s 764,000, a loss of around 40%. Update: The Reunion was coded separately at 314,000.

Did see an interview on TV Tonight a couple of weeks back with execs trying to blame MAFS for the sub-par ratings, even though almost every series has aired against MAFS in recent years.
