Australian Survivor Ratings

I know Ten is almost always (and often unfairly) a distant third behind Seven and Nine but how does Survivor compare to the other franchises on Ten across the year? I assume Masterchef beats it but probably not much else - and TBH I doubt Big Brother will beat it either.

2023:
I'm a Celeb: 820,000
Masterchef: 810,000
Survivor: 900,000
Celeb Amazing Race: 750,000

2024 Averages:
I'm a Celeb: 830,000
Masterchef: 820,000
Survivor: 800,000
Celeb Amazing Race: 760,000

2025 Averages:
I'm a Celeb: 750,000
Survivor: 805,000
Gogglebox: Sits at approx 760,000 atm

The big franchises on Ten typically rate on par with each other. Masterchef reaches the highest numbers that I think Ten can actually manage in general, but typically drops as the week progresses. I'm a Celeb does well at the start but drops as the series goes on. Survivor typically does average at the start and then will do well at merge.

Masterchef will do well, so will Survivor Au vs The World. Amazing Race will be lucky to do more than 750,000. If Big Brother can match the ratings of Survivor/Masterchef then it should have longevity on Ten.

Amazing Race and Survivor can score 900,000 for their finales, Survivor used to reach the millon mark for finales but hasn't since Heroes vs Villains. I'm a Celeb can do 1,000,000 for it's launch, but the only reality show on Ten that ends with the magic million is Masterchef. Big Brother has potential to challenge that, but time will tell.

Cheers - will be interesting to see where BBAU fits in.

Lucky for Survivor that Ten usually have more patience than Seven/Nine with new shows as Survivor could quite easily have been axed after it's first or second series based on ratings alone.

Last night Survivor rated at 365,000 and the first week's overnight average is 410,000. Even when up against MAFS it has never performed this dismally before, I cannot see how the series manages to average more than 700,000 (if lucky!) once consolidation is accounted for. The viewers were vocal about JLP's firing and the numbers are actually showing it.

Yeah, even though MAFS will always be dominant, the ratings for this season of Australian Survivor so far are dismal and not really any better than what Ten was getting for the jungle celebrity show. You gotta assume that some fans are boycotting it altogether in protest at the axing of JLP as host, which all along I thought was a dumb move.

Over 100k down on the equivalent episodes last year. It was always going to cost 10 much more than it would save. Not to worry though - it'll probably be revived on Seven in 2028 with Sonia Kruger!
